  1. FWIW its been snowily heavily here since whenever it started during the night. Forecast is for it too stay this way all day. Game Off.
  2. Pah, you'll forget all about us when you get a semi final against one of the old firm. Good luck against St Mirren, we'll be cheering you boys on from a distance. Nice to see ya', to see ya' nice.
  3. It does seem odd that Motherwell FC seem happy to spend 12K or whatever to get your balloon up to Inverurie to ensure that the game went ahead but is then quibbling about giving you guys refunds after originally saying they would. But frankly I still think there should be smallprint on the ticket saying that it is valid for whenever the game is played and that no refunds would be available. If we ever get this far in the cup again we will try to remember to add this onto the back of the ticket, but I'm not sure printers up here in this backwater can do double-sided yet.
  4. No refunds were ever available for Locos fans, and frankly I'd have been embarrassed to ask for one. Thats the risk you take if you cant make the rescheduled date, sorry guys. All credit to MFC for trying to help out their own fans. If you could afford to pay most of the running costs for a hot air ballon to get the match on yesterday then I'm sure Motherwell can afford to give a few refunds instead. Got an unused ticket here for the home end which will go into a scrap book. Might be worth something one day.
  5. not just the one. A couple of nice bright white flares kind of went with the snowbound pitch very well. All very christmassy.
  6. Good luck in the next round guys and sorry about the weather messing it up for all of us. I'm happy that we didnt embarrass ourselves. For sure the pitch was a leveller, and you had more pace and skill than us, but for a bunch of part-timers I have to be happy that we didnt fold after going down after 90 seconds against your first choice team. (apart from Hughes obviously - presumably he was rested?) Oh well, the excitement was good while it lasted. Clachnacuddin on Saturday.
  7. Apparently there's a Parks of Hamilton bus parked at the ground? Presumably that's your boys arrived safely?
  8. Thats why we're waiting until 2035, global warming don't ya know. The central belt will be like a desert (if it isnt already ) Unless we build a stadium with a retractable roof . We do manage to get the occasional game on in September so could sometimes open it up if we oiled it enough.
  9. Rory, stop winding these boys up - we might need Motherwell's vote when we apply for SFL membership in 2035.
  10. Don't say that! Game is on.
  11. There's always a chance! That snow shower's just stopped so we've had maybe 15 minutes snow in total today. Game on at the moment...
  12. Yep, snow just started again......
  13. I see your pic of the Mitchell's coo is on the beeb's site now - are they allowed to do that? I know this is a seriously stupid question, but IF the game went ahead tonight and IF (big time IF there) Locos got a draw, when would the replay be, Weds or Sat?
  14. I'm in Kemnay at the moment (5 miles from Inverurie) and we've got a dusting of snow and thats all. Its been lying all morning and not really melting so must be just a fraction above freezing. Two brief snow showers earlier this morning but thats it. Not sure what that BBC article about road conditions up here is on about?
  15. I know it's the refs decision and the pitch itself is fine etc, but I cant help thinking you've got McGhee to blame for this game not being called off. At some stage soon someone somewhere will have to make a call on road conditions.
  16. Well, it's stopped ..... short and sharp, so no problems. Yet.
  17. OK, weather changing fast. Just started snowing here 30 seconds ago. Will keep yous all updated.
  18. Must be a possibility, but there would have been no way the pitch could have failed that inspection after 5 days of positive temperatures. Clear blue skies, just a sprinking of snow, just fine for a game of fitba at the moment. Thats bound to change during the day though - at the moment there seems to be snow in Banff, Lossiemouth and Stonehaven but we're clear at the moment. Be careful everyone and enjoy the game (if its still on at
  19. I really cant see how the pitch could be unplayable at the moment. I'd think that the only reason for it being called off just now would be fear of what the weather's going to do in the next 10 hours. Should get the go ahead IMO. EDIT : OK, just seen its on. Good.
  20. 1.5 degrees and no snow at the moment. I think after McGhee's comments there will now be pressure to stop erring on the side of caution and just go for it. Wouldnt surprise me to see the ground passed fit tomorrow morning and for the game to get called off at 7pm.
  21. *wave* Looking just fine for a game tomorrow at the moment Rory. Thought Rossco and Tommy bossed the game yesterday but no real cutting edge up front. Back to Plan B for the cup game which I think involves 10 men across the goal line and the goalie takes anything above head height.
  22. No need for a pitch inspection at the moment. Managed a game just fine yesterday and the pitch coped very well so the mild days must have taken all the frost out of the pitch. Would definitely be game on tonight so fingers crossed for tomorrow....
  23. Our excuse is that this is a club from the backwater...
  24. I couldnt possibly say. As possibly the biggest HL team at the moment we get enough grief from the neighbours without you lot adding to it by complaining about our pitch.
