  1. any idea why the game wasnt rescheduled for this Wednesday? Have you got a midweek game again?
  2. Sounds like the mild weather arrives on Saturday. So if you make it at 9am it'll be called off even though it would probably be fine by 3pm. A tough call.
  3. Yes, it'll be just like Parkhead !
  4. an ILWFC insider wrote elsewhere last night : Temperature currently at -2 degrees, 25 hours to go until the inspection
  5. No idea. If I was you I'd stick with Edwards or the Butchers Arms by the town square. - edit, the legion's on the roundabout between north street and west high street I think.
  6. There will be separate turnstiles for home and away fans. Or at least, thats what happened v Airdrie & East Fife. There's a gate in the corrugated iron fencing which gets used as the away entrance. Previous capacities have been set at 2200 I think so with this at 2500 I wouldnt hold out too much hope for any hypothetical away fans in the home end being able to shuffle into the away end I'm afraid. We're gonna be packed in there like sardines. It was bad enough with 2200 v Aberdeen earlier this season. Tickets have gone to corporates etc so maybe that leaves 1700 for home fans, of whom only about 600 could be considered regulars. Bearing in mind the average age of a Locos fan is probably the late forties to early fifties, I dont think you've got much to fear by mixing with us locals! And you can normally hear a pin drop in matches so please dont make too much noise!! If I was a hypothetical Well fan in the home end I'd probably walk to the far end of the covered terracing that's in front of you as you enter, and stand by the partition between the two sets of fans. And can I apologise in advance for the fact the the view from your end is pretty sh*te.
  7. Hmm, yes sounds tight, but the info on the highland league website does have 7.45 on Jan 20th at either Harlaw or Fir Park as the next date for our tie at the moment. Maybe you're not too bothered as you'll win at the first attempt up here or if postponed you can rest most of your first team anyway??? Who knows.
  8. I dont know if there's a special car park for this game, if so it'll be a first, but then for Locos this whole experience is a first. Usually parking's just along Harlaw road and the side streets, but then usually we have 500 not 2500 fans. Not sure if the polis will be preventing parking on Harlaw road for this game. We dont normally have segregation for HFL games, and the gate you boys will be going into at the bottom of the ground only gets used for cup ties v league opposition. Any postponement or replay is scheduled for Tuesday 20th Jan.
  9. We've only been in the highland league for 7 years, are 5th in the league, have played two games in the last 7 weeks, the last two league games we've lost and drawn and we havent played any league teams in the cup at all. (though admittedly we did win our first 8 games, have got 5 games in hand of some, won the north challenge cup and have scored 14 goals in our 3 scottish cup ties to date)
  10. There's an indoor bowling club a hundred yards from Harlaw going out of town and an outdoor one the same distance the other way between Harlaw and Tescos.
  11. -1 at the moment and -4.5 5 miles away in Kemnay so some work needed on the pitch I fear. A nearby park is rock solid. When you're up here be sure and take a wander around the town to see all the red and black stuff out in the shopfronts.

    Inverurie Game

What the f***s going on with this weather? It was -6 yesterday evening when I got home at 6pm. This morning it was +2 degs and increasing. Good thawing weather I'd have said. Prediction : game on.

    Inverurie Game

Our covers only cover about half the ground, but Aberdeen have given us theirs for the week which cover the full pitch. That, plus a forecast thawing during the week from the current -5 degs will hopefully ensure game on.
  14. I dont know what check, if any, will be in place when selling tickets in Inverurie. I think for the all ticket Aberdeen game they wanted names, maybe addresses as well, cant remember. I dont think you'd be able to walk round to the away end from inside the ground and I presume segregation will be enforced with temporary fencing. Not sure what the attitude of the polis or stewards would be if you wore colours in the Locos end. There'd be no trouble from the fans, but the officials might not be happy. Sorry, dont know, cant answer any of your questions!
  15. Yes, I'm afraid you'll be standing on grass for the most part, and also looking up the slope so the view's not great from the north end. The enclosure will be for Locos fans only I'm afraid. Usually we dont have segregation, its only needed for cup games v league opposition, i.e East Fife & Airdrie only to date. The pre-season friendly v Aberdeen (attendance 2301) was unsegregated. There will be an entrance at the bottom of the park for Motherwell fans only, via a corrugated iron gate that is usually locked shut and you'll get your own rip-off burger van/hot dog stall. The ground will be jam packed, but dont expect too much atmosphere from a crowd made up largely of occasional fans.
  16. There is one spot near the turnstiles where maybe 10 people could squeeze in and see the game from over the wall, but I'm sure there will be a few polis around and you'd be pretty quickly moved on. Not recommended I'd say.
  17. Sorry you guys are having trouble getting tickets, but I suppose it was always going to be this way. For those that do manage to get up here, dont expect too much from our ground, hope you have a great time and good luck in the next round.
