Guy at my work who was in the other end says that we deserved fuck all yesterday for putting 10 men behind the ball and kicking them off the park.
I've heard this from numerous Celtic fans today. I wonder what they expect us to do? Just stand back and give them space to play?
Our two central midfielders put down their markers with hard, but fair, tackles early on. Forrest started bright and disappeared once he'd been put on his arse a few times. Job done in my opinion.
I've heard Lasley being singled out for particularly harsh treatment from them. I personally thought he was all over the park yesterday, winning tackles and making sure that Celtic got zero space to play.
I'd be willing to wager that Celtic would be in a better position if they had a few players with the committment of Lasley & Jennings.

I know we have an international weekend before this game, but I thought we could get the discussion started early anyway. After yesterdays game with Celtic I have to say that I'm more than confident that we can come away from this game with at least a point.
I doubt McCall makes any changes unless he's forced to through injury, so we should only really see Clancy drop out through suspension. Hutch should be good to come in though, so there isn't too much to worry about.
Apart from that, I'd go with the same line-up as yesterday.

Bring on the sheepies and the auld goat
An afternoon that will hopefully start with us seeing Celtic drop points in Inverness and then us beating Aberdeen, sending us clear into 2nd again

Don't need to have played the game to know a passenger when you see one.
You're at the wind-up!

So you'd be happy with a 6th spot finish?
Bollocks to that after this start.
Not suggesting splitting Old Firm is realistic but if we don't make Europe then it will be hugely dissapointing. I'd be gutted even finishing 5th this season
Agreed. I think it's fair to say that a top 4 finish shouldn't be out of the question, and certainly what we should be aiming for now.

I've had no problem with the site at all since the day it started. Must be a problem with your browser or something.

David - i presume you refer to everyone in the East Stand.......when its the most populated "home" stand, why do we only have one exit?
the POD and Cooper are empty nearly instantly, yet the East takes about 15mins
people cant be arsed with that, hence the reason why the area at the stairs is so populated for the last ten minutes of a game. People are happy to stand there and watch the remaining minutes.
after 90mins, loads of folk walk down to the bottom of the east stand and walk along there rather than the top - why are we not allowed to cross a 2m strecth of gravel and exit through the Cooper? too dangerous?
what is dangerous is trying to exit the East Stand - it turns into a bottle neck and it becomes even worse when the snow/ice comes in and the exit stairs are exposed to the elements
Look, it wasn't my intention to take a pop at anyone. It may have seemed that way, and that may be because I typed up the post shortly after coming home when I was still hyped up. If anyone is offended by it, I apologise.
I felt that the team gave a very good account of themselves yesterday, and felt that when they were joined by the manager in the centre circle after the game they deserved as close to a full house of applause as was possible.
It fucking killed me to see our players applaud a half-empty stand whilst "the greatest fans in the world" are still there to a man applauding that shower of imposters they call Celtic players.

Sportscene has taken a turn for the better this week. Our Keith is on the panel.

Why not keep the animals in the ground for say 10 minutes?! Let all the good guys dissapear home/boozer/work whereever and keep the scum inside.
Didn't that used to happen?

Don't worry, it won't be long before the POD loses its habitation certificate, and when the Mauld Firm visit they'll get the Cooper and East Stands and we'll all be in the South Stand .
They'll be getting fuck all east stand.

Yeah, looking across into the main stand I felt a bit sorry for the 'Well fans stuck in there with that lot.

If we secure a top four finish and big Higdon finishes as our top scorer this thread will be very useful for those who are badmouthing him to look back in embarrassment.
I'm not quite sure what kind of striker they expect us to pick up on a free at the wage level we can offer? He's scoring goals and we're doing well. What else can you ask?
-
He was getting the usual shouts about not jumping for high balls again from the east stand.
-
There are a couple of sports talk guys on my local radio station that say that all the time. Drives me nuts.
I could care less

Are moderators not meant to sit on the proverbial fence ???
Why would they?

The guy is a complete fanny but hes playing the celtic support brilliantly.
He's trying to create that siege mentality that served them so well last season. You can't really blame him though, he needs something to keep him in the job.

Reasonable effort by the lads today, but still annoyed that poorer teams than us seem to manage to raise their game more often than we do against the OF in recent years. Maybe they just have further to raise it, of course
Do other teams really raise their game more against the Old Firm than we did today though? I've yet to see anyone batter them to be honest. We just didn't get the slice of luck that the teams who get the results against them seem to find.

Wrong already, David
I completely agree, but at that point the proof will be in the pudding, so to speak.
-
It won't be enough.
At that point though, those who don't rate him will simply be wrong.
-
This thread is just going to go back and forth all season and probably ultimately prove little. I'm not sure what he will need to do to convince those that don't rate him he is a decent player.
He'll have to finish the season as the top scorer in a Motherwell team that clinches a top four finish.
Even that may not be enough for some though.

love folk that mouth of about freedom of choice but question others
I love you too lad. I'm not actually questioning their freedom of choice, I'm simply asking why someone would pay twenty odd quid to go to a game then leave with ten minutes to go and the game still up for grabs?
It's a bit like going to see a movie then fucking off before you find out how it finishes.

A better performance from Higdon today, but overall i would describe his performance as average.
Is that almost a compliment there Jim?

I've laughably seen it said that Celtic fans using this phrase is supposed to be like black people using the 'N' word. Basically, if they use it, it's okay. If anyone else uses it, it's not.
