If we expand the league we make it a poorer standard and there's less money, The league itself has to be this way. No two ways about that. The league has to be a bore and somewhat repetitive. You don't need to buy a pie or a twix. Being there's enough. People don't come because they can't be arsed. Footballs a TV sport now for most people, not a going to sport. Kids don't need taken to the football by parents, look at all the younger faces up the far end of the east stand, most there with pals etc. That's refreshing to see.

I'd like to think most people who looked at the situation objectively they would agree.

The SPL is an ok league, easily Championship class, outside the OF, and more league1 maybe in the bottom 3 or 4. We could easily compete with our team in the Championship though, and given the size of club up here I don't think we can be any thing other than happy with that. However, it's perhaps this gap of standard that isn't good for the game. The International team suffered lately from a lack of good management, but is't dire. Look at the players now in "the best league in the world" when was the last time we had as many post premiership and big money? Danny Wilson- Liverpool, Darren Fletcher- Man Utd, Craig Gordon- Sunderland, James McFadden- Birmingham, Steven Fletcher- Wolves, Gary Caldwell- Wigan, Hutton- Spurs/Sunderland on loan last season, Dorrans- West Brom, McArthur- Wigan. Add to that there's the McCarthy's and the Cuellars etc who're foreigners who've went from up here to premiership sides and play regularly. I may not be as old as some on here but I really can't remember it being better than this.

Making it a tenner to get in isn't going to make people turn up. Some people will still rather spend a tenner on afew pints and watch a shite Premiership game or and OF game. All this Fir Park scaring the punters away's a lot of shite aswell. It's one of the thigs keeping the crowds as high imo. The vast majority our fans stay pretty local and probablly walk, it's near 2 train stations, one on the Edinburgh line and both to Glasgow opening us up to both home and away fans coming to games with relative ease. Now moving up to somewhere where there is no train station seems daft. Moving to Ravenscraig would turn alot of people away, who wants to walk as much as an extra 20 minutes for some fans in the pissing rain on a cold saturday to see St. Mirren. If the East and Main are too old for people then they should sit in the fucking coooper stand. I really don't see how an old stand tuns people away, when mst of the talk about our preseason games was about going to good old wee stadiums.

The last 2 home games were: against Hibs for a european place and against a team in Europe after winning a European place. Of course the attendance may be a bit higher, the 2008 game against Aberdeen likewise. But likes of the game at the end of January against St. Mirren won't be a busy game, regardles of pricing. More fans will turn out for bigger games. Slashing ticket prices would be a nice gesture if we could afford it, but at the moment I don't think we can.
-
Halfing the price of a ticket isn't going to double the attendance though.

The guys 33, and never played outside norway. I'm sure Stevie Craigan's played against better strikers.

Humphrey does his job, heed doon runs fast as fuck, hits the byline and crosses. Sometimes he hits the man sometimes he doesn't. Nobody was in the box last week. If hes putting the ball in more then there is more chance somebody will get on the end of it.

No OAP or student prices?

All this based on assumptions there was some kind of clause in a one year deal that if he "impressed" he had the option for another year? The key word being option. The guys from down south maybe he wants to go home? maybe he's got somewhere better to go? Rather have a player wanting to be here than ne who we're forcing to be here tbh.
-
How do we define "impressed" in contract terms, seems more than a wee bit vague...

Michael Fraser...

Tha patch of land at tinkers lane?
-
It's not, if the pitch is flatter it's not going to make the football brilliant.
-
I don't get why people keep banging on about the slope in the pitch?
-
so you'd be happy with that? 3rd division but eve got new fans, granted it's at the expense of few old ones?
-
People on the whole don't go to games as it is what make you think that a new stadium in a new town will bring in people? livi anybody?
-
Smith barely ever made it to the bline and put a ball in the box. Whilst Humphrey maynot always hit a man, he puts alot more into the box, more crosses=more chances.
-
I don't get the point of this post? He's a 20 year old from Chelsea? So what? If he's good enough he's welcome.
-
It's all well and good giving it "oh lets make it like this" or "lets make it look like that" because we won't we'll end up with a shite hole like st mirrens ground. We'll have the stands to far apart and to far away from the pitch.

New roof on the east stand and a new, fully brick built main stand would bring Fir Park up to a good standard.
-
We never played badly at all today, I'd even say we played them off the park in long periods. Fraser is a clown though.

Michael Fraser= worst guy.
