  1. It's not raining in Glasgow just now. I feel as if games get called off a lot more often now than 15-20 years ago despite pitch protection that the clubs have available. Probably were as many games called off back then, just my perception...
  2. Really couldn't ask for a better draw. Although the mantle of overwhelming favourites never sits well with us...
  3. I would add Ross McLean to that list...
  4. Team Ripley Law Kennedy McManus Hammell Johnson Lasley Grimshaw Pearson McDonald Moult Disappointingly, Taylor on the bench ahead of Cadden, Leitch or McLean...
  5. I think Grimshaw has done ok but would like to see Cadden, Leitch or McLean given some game time so if he were to leave, I'd hope that would be the case. Taylor, again, I'd rather give our U20 midfielders a shot so he can go. Ripley, some good games, some bad. Would playing Craig Samson instead noticeably weaken us? Probably not...
  6. Had to laugh when I read him saying the other day that he'd be blooding young players. He may have qualities but bringing through young players isn't one of them. I know of at least one U20 player getting scouted by other clubs at the moment who feels it'd be better for his development to leave at the end of the season...
  7. McDonald certainly has pedigree. But his contributions this season? Negligible... And before I hear the defence of being played out of position or starved of supply, I'd only ask how that prevents you from finding a team mate 10 yards away with a pass. Or prevents you from controlling a football...
  8. I noticed that you didn't debate him on the merits of his argument though. I wouldn't either if I were you, you don't have a leg to stand on...
  9. McGhee is naive if he thought that team had any hope of a result up there. Johnson at left back?? Really?? If Baraclough had pulled that stunt, this place would be full of people ridiculing him...
  10. I like the people saying that you can't blame McGhee. Shocking team selection today. Asking for a defeat. Luke Watt performed admirably against Aberdeen last season at left back yet is ignored today. McDonald's not kicked a ball all season, McGhee makes him captain. Playing with two centre midfielders in a tough away game. Naive, bordering on idiotic... The buck stops with McGhee...
  11. Good question. If Taylor is playing centre midfield, very disappointed that he's starting ahead of Leitch...
  12. Can't go wrong with Hugh McIlvaney...
  13. Moult has scored six or seven goals this season. Probably on course to score around 15. Hardly one for the future...
  14. Look on the bright side. We're picking up points with the guy widely accepted to be our best midfielder out of form...
  15. For me too but it is nice to have options. Sounded as if Robinson contributed last week (which to my mind, he hadn't done previously) so the competition should keep the strikers on their toes. Having said that, for me Moult would be one of the first names on the team sheet. It'd be him and one other for me...
  16. I wondered that as well but the Paul Smith that played in our first team apparently played his youth football elsewhere...
  17. Did Mark Reilly and Martin McBride not make the first team? Remember Reilly playing around 1989 before he moved on to Kilmarnock... EDIT Reilly won the Scottish Cup with Killie...
  18. My mother's favourite player apparently. Also, looking at that photo of Joe McBride, is Jamie Carragher related to him..?
  19. Good to see him score but there's no way he's been our best striker this season...
  20. Hopefully that means 442 with Moult playing closer to Fletcher...
  21. Fletcher hasn't done much wrong in my eyes. Looked sharp at the start of the season prior to injury. Chalmers and Johnson, I agree haven't been great but not many other options there. Thomas flatters to deceive a bit, and Johnson looking bereft of confidence, don't know if dropping him would achieve desired upturn in form. Law at right back is another issue. Didn't do much wrong last week and provided our best cross. Is he the answer long term? Probably not but I reckon I've got more chance of a comeback than Craig Reid and for whatever reason Luke Watt isn't considered ready (wrongly in my opinion) so we'll probably persevere with Law there. Grimshaw playing there would be an option but I reckon we'd miss his workrate in the middle of the park...
