Not unhappy that we"ve got Kerry til the end of the season. Started well, had a few iffy games but there's definitely something to work with there. Only concern is what it does for Saunders' chances. Hope that he can come back and make an impact as he could be a massive player for us next season with Hutchinson away...

Can't stand the guy. Hope his next shite is an elephant sized hedgehog..

If you look at Porter's injury record prior to joining us and since leaving us, it's difficult to escape the feeling that we had the best of him. Not to say we couldn't again but seems unlikely. But for me it'd be a pointless signing. I remember when we had Porter and Sutton and they never looked like a partnership. Can't see Porter and Higdon being any different. As much as I loved Porter when he was with us, someone like Higginbottom would be a better option. Having said that, I'd be tempted to play Ojaama on the wing and pair McHugh with Higdon and spend any wages freed up on other areas of the team..

Bring on McHugh, the most natural partner for Higdon as a replacement for...Higdon...

See when people on here were predicting us to win 4-1 or win "comfortably", generally that's the time to remove your life savings from the bank and put it all on St Mirren...

Again unsurprised by this. He's a haddie who always seems to cause us problems. Still at least I had money on him for first scorer..

1-0 Thompson. Not surprised...

Kind of makes sense to me. If we need to balance the books then what's the point in selling the guys whose contracts are almost up? By definition these are the guys whose value is lowest. By selling one player with longer left on his contract, we might make as much as we would selling two players who are out of contract in the summer. We might make as much selling Ojaama as we would selling both Humphrey and Murphy, Just a thought...

I think it's probably the case that away from home, most teams set up primarily to be difficult to beat. And most teams in the SPL don't have someone with enough guile to break down a massed defence. The flipside is that to play counterattacking football doesn't require as much craft...

Unbelievable...

I think before the game, most people would have pinpointed Griffiths as the one danger...

Carswell not even on the bench. Injured?

I think Billy Davies would have a decent claim to feature on that list. Not saying he'd be in my top three but certainly a good enough record to be discussed...

So generally did well and managed to win some of the big games? Just like McCall then except he had players like Porter, Quinn, McCormack and Clarkson. It fascinates me that McCall gets less credit that McGhee when both finished third in the league. Strikes me that on that basis, McCall will never win some people over. Eighteen months in the job and he'd taken us to a cup final and then a third place finish. You can debate how enjoyable our home games have been to watch but in terms of results, his record compares favourably with most Motherwell managers...

In patches, yes. But if we're seeing McCall berated for his team's performance in "big cup games" then you'd have to look at McGhee's frankly abysmal record with a much better squad. At times McGhee had Lasley, Lappin, Sutton or Murphy to call from the bench. Wagebill and squad then pisses over what we have now..

Fuck right off! One season wonder who walked away rather than try and build a new team. Mind you, maybe just as well as his first piece of the jigsaw was Michael Fraser...

I would suggest that being released by Bradford would suggest that he wouldn't be in a position to demand too high a salary. He's decent to have on the bench. Played a big part in a couple of good away wins last season...

Daley and Kerr, I'm guessing are the two you think I've been generous to. I'm taking into account Daley's relatively small wage and Kerr's inexperience...
-
You, sir, are correct in that Hutchinson seems to get off lightly when blame is getting dished out. Given his lack of experience, the stick Cummins has been getting by comparison is nothing short of a disgrace...

McCall's signings so far. Gunning - Short term signing. Did a good enough job that another SPL club came in for him. Jones - Short term signing. Offered an option for the bench for peanuts. Jeffers - Added a touch of class that helped us get to the cup final. Law - A success. Clancy - Again enough of a success that another SPL club came in for him. Higdon - A success. Daley - On peanuts, cover on bench. Has won us some games but never likely to be a regular starter. Hughes - Failure. Ojaama - I'm not a fan but generally most fans think he has something to offer. Ramsden - Jury's out for me. Has looked solid but can he stay fit? Kerr - Not convinced. Obviously replaced Page and looks more comfortable at full back than Page. At centre back, he's struggled. Never had a run of games though. So why are some not convinced that McCall is the man to rebuild? I know this is a rehash of a previous post of mine but MJC seems to rehash his old material...

Not a fan of singling people out, too often at Fir Park over the years there have been fans who have decided whose fault it's going to be when things go wrong even before a ball is kicked. But Frazzle does have a point. Any criticism is generally born of frustration and wanting the team to do well. I won't try and speak for Frazzle but for me, there is nothing more frustrating that someone consistently underperforming over the season but you know he's one of the ñrst names on the team sheet despite two others being able to play in that position...

Like others, I knew the game was up as soon as they scored tonight. Annoying thing is we looked decent in the first half without really stretching them. Over the piece, I thought Humphrey, Carswell and Randolph had good games (obviously, like the full team, they were better in the first than the second). Others just fell slightly short of what was expected of them. For me, the two players who had stickers were Hateley and Ojamma...

On that description, exactly like Hutchinson then? While not as powerful as Hutchinson, he's equally good in the air and with the ball at his feet. Add to that, the fact that he can play two positions (for me, he's the best right back at the club), I'd say he's a player we should be looking to keep. Of course, this is all based on him coming back from injury and recapturing his form...

This. Very seldom recently have we let a young player go and they've gone on to make us regret the decision. I reckon Saunders would...
