  1. One down. Sounds like we haven't shown up by official Twitter updates...
  2. I voted for Clay. Obviously Moult was man of the match but reckon Clay deserves some recognition for how he's coming on to a game...
  3. An assist and winning a penalty is a difficult day? Actually thought he did well until Moult went off and we lost our way a bit as a team...
  4. We let them back into it and it was closer than it should have been. They missed some chances but we had a few situations where the ball didn't break or the final ball wasn't quite right. Other than Moult (obviously) I was impressed by Clay, Bowman and Cadden today. Clay did well taking the ball in tight situations and while not as eyecatching as Cadden, did get forward to decent effect at times. Bowman looks useful in the air and had a few decent touches on the deck as well. Good flick on for the first goal and did well to win the penalty. Cadden was Cadden. All power, running through people, running over people. Fantastic player. I won't say it was an enjoyable game to watch (too tense on occasions) but you certainly couldn't take your eyes off it and it was value for money...

    Left Backs

I think I was at Andy Roddie's one good game for us. Seem to remember him playing well down at Kilmarnock the day we won 4-2 with Coyne scoring a hattrick...
  6. Some people have taken an irrational dislike to Blyth based on nothing but a couple of rumours. However the question has to be asked why we've signed a second player in Bowman who in his initial interview described his own style of play exactly the same way that Blyth did on arrival. It does lend itself to people asking the question of why McGhee felt the need to sign Bowman if Blyth is looking the part...

    Left Backs

Similar to McSkimming, was there not a period between Boyd and McKinnon where Nijholt and Angus had spells at left back or am I havering..?
  8. I (clearly) had completely forgotten about Connor Grant...
  9. Nutmegged Dougie Imrie, played in a 3-1 win at Ibrox. Good enough for me...
  10. It's true that you probably could come up with a team of loan signings (as you say, with the exception of full backs). Thing that I sometimes forget is that the likes of Greg Strong and Kevin McBride were loan signings before they signed permanent deals. Best loan signings for me would be Jutkiewicz, Alan McCormack and Krisztian Vadocz. John Spencer, Kevin McBride and Greg Strong were all good in their loan spells and didn't really maintain that level (although Spencer was burdened by expectations and perception that he wasn't offering value for money). Poor loan signings? Don't really have too many to point the finger at because the likes of Offiong and Andy Smith didn't feature that much to have a negative impact on the team. Does that make them more pointless loan signings? Mark O'Brien is maybe one that was poor and played a fair bit. Can't think of too many others...
  11. Double edged sword. Great they're both getting recognition, hope they come through the match unscathed injury wise...
  12. Can I be the first to sarcastically point out that there will be some amount of overlap in this thread given the number of former players we tend to sign..?
  13. Being selfish, I hope he doesn't apply and stays in charge of our U20s. On the subject of Joe Chalmers, can only hope that this further boosts his confidence. This is the first time he has had a run of games at left back and while he has his limits, he is not proving to be the bombscare that some think he is. As things stand, I'd have him ahead of Hammell at left back...
  14. He didn't say he downed tools. He said he was getting the games out of the way. To me, that's him admitting that he was distracted by the transfer talk. Not the first player that's happened to. His form dipped but I wouldn't say he lacked effort in any game...
  15. Isn't up for it or isn't up to scratch...?
  16. Blyth described himself, as did McGhee, as a striker who could run in behind. Is Blyth already being discarded? Judging by McGhee's comments on Belic, we've signed Belic as the replacement for Johnson (can play up top or out wide). Not sure why we've signed another striker unless Moult is more seriously injured than we thought or we've decided that Blyth isn't up to it. If we're looking at free agents, midfield would be a priority...
  17. Normally on Twitter we link to an article on the website. And frankly the Scottish media seem to have gone to bed...
  18. Aye, that's all very well but some of us have work tomorrow and am too curious to go to bed...
  19. Thought strikes me that we're maybe trying to get the website back up so we can announce it properly...
  20. Cutting it fine as it's getting close to midnight. I blame Burrows. Ever since he's been involved, transfer deadline day has gone to the wire...
  21. Nope. No luck in loading it at all...
