Gutted to see him go but, is it really a surprise? Nah, not really, but take the money and reinvest in the squad (and tie down Kilimpl please! ). Thanks for the goals Chris!
-
So, thats finally settled then? Porter scored 18 goals. I reckon he'll get another 5 or 6 come the end of the season, in the league!
-
Safe to say he definitely scored 18 goals, check the 'fishal.. Possibly he may have only scored 15 goals in the league and 3 in Cup?
-
Yea, definitely was 18 he scored last season. Other reason I remember because Im sure about Christmas time 'Flow put a fair wack of money on Porter to score 20+ goals (maybe a few hundred 'Flow?) and well, he never quite got there, did he?

Falkirk fans complaining about forcing the long ball game due to our inadequate pitch? Well perhaps we should email/write to them and complain at the lack of a 3rd and 4th stand, that results in the wind conditions being far to severe to be "condusive to good football". Several times I have been to The Falkirk Stadium absolutely freezing due to the wind which in turn has resulted in a shocking game of football as passes go astray due to these conditions. The old expression "get your own house in order before criticising others" bla bla bla.. Should perhaps end his message with "hypocrite" rather than "optimist"..

!Got to disagree on the Darren Smith thing, for so long I have always backed him, especially last season when he was coming on and making an impact into games, like the goal up at Aberdeen and Caley. But, now I really can't see him getting anywhere near the team. I know we dont have depth in the squad and I'd rather have him there than not but, he has not confidence (maybe he could do something for us with a little confidence ie. Clarky). But, I cannot see him breaking into the team within the next season and a half. What I would like to see - would be for him to go out on loan to a 1st division team and build a bit of confidence and find his correct position, winger? Nah. Striker? Who really knows. The Darren Smith of now would not add anything to this team. I don't think John Sutton has fell out of favour at all with McGhee, I think McGhee was planning for the long term if/when we lose Ports, he tried to play them together although it never worked and honestly, how would you have? No disrespect to Sutton but, Porter everytime. I think McGhee has to get Sutton when he did or we would have possibly lost out to someone else and say Porter leaves now in Jan, who would we ahve for the Porter-esque role? No one. For me, I don’t think he’s out of favour at all just out of the 1st eleven because we have, for now, a better pairing in Porter & Clarky than Sutton & Porter/Clarky. I don't think anymore can be added to the Bob Malcolm debate, there is NO need for him anymore. Even if we lose out on Klimpl come the end of the season (which I don't think will be the case) there’s still no need for Bob to be here! I'd rather have a half legged Keef Lasley than a full fat Boab! The sooner he’s gone the better and we can add someone who will be useful to the squad with what wages Malcolm is on. Don't even mention McGarry... But, all round, I reckon we have a pretty solid 11 when everyone’s fit, the best starting 11 we've had in a while anyway. Buzz, Quinn, Reynolds, Hammell, Hughes, Kilimpl and O'Brien can all improve but, right now, I’m delighted to see the players we have improve week after week. Aslong as we can keep the backbone of the side together, we will get better and better!

Just a thought, best not changing the title slightly? Incase people start coming on Sunday/Monday and this thread pops up thinking the games postponed or something? Im only saying that coz it'll me that does it!
-
Aye, hes kinda kicking about in La Liga and playing fairly recently week in week out for Osasuna. Hope we can get him [Kilimpl] at the end of the year even if it is only is a 2 year deal maybe come the end of the 1st year we may get big bucks if he progresses the way hes going just now. Seeing Vadocz go from NEC to Osasuna for a couple million is a bit gutting that we missed out on a few bob!
-
Thats as far as I understand it, yeah! But, its to be collected 5 days before match day. Im pretty sure they'll be many left, don't see it being a sell out even if all ST holders got a free ticket or two!
-
Its all true it seems!
-
You sure about that? Whos our no.19 then? Artur
-
I can confirm its 100% right. His wife is studying Law in Paisley and is reluctant to leave untl the years finished, which is the main reason for his stay in Scotland for now. Plus all her family is based up the road in Wishaw and wanting to stay about for a while after "disliking" being away in Leicester. Im sure he'll sign some sort of an extension!
-
Doesn't matter if he "looks" like hes going to commit a foul, aslong as he doesn't. The big guys committed into every tackle! I like him and I reckon hes great for the team! Hence the reason Shug looks better now!
-
Fogs pretty much cleared up now I reckon. Was out in Motherwell for my driving lesson at 2ish and it was quite foggy (was a little worried) but, now been out in Wishy its pretty much gone! Game on. And, mon intae them 'Well.. Edit: Think its 11 Owenny.
-
Im pretty positive the game will be on. I thought we only had the USH on (apparently!) for when the Hearts game was called off? So at that time without any covers or 'good' working USH there wasn't much hope but, with this dome I reckon its going ahead. Got a funny feeling were getting something out of this game! Actually looking forward to it!

Ooh jeez, would you shut up! You know what, never mind from a personal point of view wanting to see the 'Well get into Europe again but, for it to happen and prove you wrong! It may well be your opinion but, its sounds more of an opinion of someone wanting the club to miss out in Europe rather than get there again! Mon 'Well, lets do it..

After much ducking and diving and trying to see who the big lanky, Brian McLean-esque guy was I eventually realised that it was infact Brian McLean and was in and about the pre-match warm up against St Mirren. He was doing a fair bit of running about himself, don't know if he done everything along with the squad but, he was kitted out on his training gear doing sprints etc himself. Even had a shot or two with the subs before the KO and buried one in the top bag. So, least we know hes standing, walking, running and shooting perfectly fine, cant see it being to much longer now until hes back with the reserves possibly? Edit - dont think he was on the bench though?

At the game I couldn't believe we never got ONE of those penalties now seeing the highlights Im even more shocked. Thats about 5 stone-wall penalty shouts we've had over the last few games and we got none of them, when do we get our slice of luck? Have to agree with 'Flow, Im a little confident we'll take something on Wednesday. Just got a little feeling that we'll get a point. Feel much more confident with Klimpl in the middle with that bit of dig and he'd keep Kingston out the game on Wed if he plays.. But, back on topic - positive to see us playing better and yea, the ref was a muppet!
-
After re-reading the article posted in the January Transfer Window thread I miss read. But still, 2 and a half years without First Team football? But aye, apologises anyway!
-
I agree! Plus, we can all go on the P&B and whenever their annoying wee fuckers of fans come on the SPL Forum we can tell them to leave and head off to the First Division forum with their tail between their legs! Oooh, how I'd laugh!
-
Fancy stop giving the guy a hard time? Aye. hes fucked up a fair few times this season and so has Craigan, Hammell, Quinn, Keef, Hughes etc when we have conceded goals. We've conceded goals here, there and everywhere but, Reynolds right now is the best we have and with Craigan back in defence he seems much more comfortable. Course he'll still make a few more mistakes so will the rest of the sqaud and we#ll concede goals because of it but, if they were all round top drawer players with no faults they would not be playing for Motherwell. Get off the guys back, get behind him and support him and maybe, just maybe we'll see the Reynolds we seen on his first season! And, its Klimpl with an 'l' not an 'r'.
-
If you jump into the January Transfer Window thread theres a few opinions in there.. Simon Elliott is 34, ex-Fulham midfielder without a club for 2 and half years, although, is he the little bit more experience we need?
-
Highly doubt 500 tickets will go on sale tomorrow - maybe 100 at best but, St Mirren have said they are not going on sale tomorrow and Motherwell say they are.. Due to recent debacles I'd be more trustworthy of St Mirrens backroom staff than our own!
-
Well, if theres no money or funds for players why make up a shortlist of 50 potential signings/loans?
-
Well, since its Thursday and theres no sign of a thread for the St Mirren game, here goes! Promises to be a good game, with a full house and what should be an emotional atmosphere in the Home end. Team prediction? For me, it should be the same team that played against Caley ---------Buzz------------ Quinn-----Craigan-----Reynolds-----Hammell O'Brien---Hughes-----Klimpl--------Fitzy ---------Clarky-----Porter-------- The team has a bit of everything, much needed injection of pace (O'Brien, Reynolds), dig (Klimpl, Fitzy, Quinn), creativity (Hughes, Hammell), experience (Craigan). Can't see St Mirren losing in their final game at Love Street and also after a good run of results in December but, we need to capitalise on our win against Caley. So, therefor looks as though it has a draw written all over it! But, Im being optimistic and I think we will snatch it with the odd goal. Hopefully Clarky can get on the scoresheet after a terrific performance on Saturday and boost his confidence further. Mon the 'Well..
