  1. Have to be honest here, when I read the article I was delighted to see something done. 5 months for being a wee fanny who, with no regard for those around him, set off a pyrotechnic device without have a clue what it did? Naw. I have no complaints.

Although, I think if the club were allowed to use professional equipment to create that atmosphere I would be all for it. Similar to the use of flare and fireworks at Scotland Rugby games.

  2. How many strips will the players go through in a season though? More than one I suspect. Even at that, sponsors and numbers do get torn off in games from time to time.

My tops from the Puma days are still fine, carrying forward Onto the two Macron strips I also own. I reckon it could be hit or miss. Some will apply perfectly every time and some will peel off after a week or two.

  3. Much appreciated. You do some great stuff on this thread and site UBH. I , for one, really enjoy your efforts so thanks for sharing your knowledge and skills.

Crawling up his arse won't make him like ye ;)

Seriously though, I second this. Fantastic Effort every single time.

  4. Kilmarnock who we beat two weeks ago?

Let's face it, we could lose 5-0 one week then win the next. Nothing is a given in a league so small. We might win out next 20 games and be in the title challenge come the split. We could be relegated by March.

If we stay on the ball, get at least a point ahead and match their results, I'll be somewhat satisfied.

  5. I was at the game,my first thought was that I'd rather sit down the front than up the back.

I watched the highlights this morning and thought the empty stand looked terrible.

Was not a dig at you, was a complaint about the general attitude to football nowadays. How the support is perceived takes priority over the support itself.

  6. Same reason we often close the bottom tier at Fir Park, I guess. The fact that your first thought is what it looks like on TV shows how pathetic the fan situation is. I don't attend games at the moment, for work reasons but my concern is still that we have less fans than some non-league sides in England- not the fact that the tv pictures compliment this fact. Probably paying the same wages as well.

  7.

the 3rd option of arrested but released without charge is a void option as it cant happen in scotland, if your arrested then you are charged, its only in england that you are arrested on suspicion but can after investigation be released without charge.[/quote

Terminology is the fault here- detained and released would be more appropriate but let's face it, you're the only one who cares about this little issue.

  8. Wasn't at the cup final since I was 1 at the time so i'll go with the obvious 6-6.Not far behind would be the 3-0 v Rangers, 4-3 in that replayed Hibs game 4-4 against Celtic, 3-1 against Celtic, 3-0 against St Johnstone.

Higgys hat trick that night! The fact that 2/3s of the crowd hadn't attended the first game made for one of the busiest midweek fixture I've ever been too.

  9. What a question, the sort that really brings a flood of memories! Do the masters count? The year Gerry Britton played for Celtic and we won the tournament at Braehead! Trip down to Manchester was special as well.

As for the real team.... 6-6 game was incredible- one of the last attended by my father (Deaddogman) which made it extra special on a personal level! The comeback and the "We want 7" chants. The reaction of the bench hen Jutkiewicz scored. The sheer chaos of the game made it forever memorable

The cup semis against Hearts and St Johnstone were fun! Great games and fantastic performances. Notable mentions go to the Uncle Phil games (United and Hearts double header), the play offs, every time we beat Celtic!

  10. I think brining in a manager who says he will develop youths is useless because Youth Development is a two way street. It won't work if the promising youths aren't up to scratch. Obvious examples being Luke Watt (apparently) and the likes of Paul Slane. Compare them to other Youth Dev players such as Stephen Pearson and James McFadden. Attitude wise there are miles between the pairs.

The manager saying "I'll develop youths" is pretty much like saying "I'll win the league". He can do everything right, but the players won't necessarily be up for the challenge.

  11. Maybe I'm being a bit negative but I'm surprised that names like Mixu Paatelinen and James Fowler are being mentioned. While the former did well at Kilmarnock his spell at Easter Road was far from impressive. The latter has been in management for 12 months only and his taken his side to 6th out of 10 ie mid table. Stephen Craigan is completely untested.

I've had the pleasure of standing beside James Fowler when he was at Kilmarnock, player/coach role in an Under-20 game v Edusport academy. The man knows tactics and from what I gathered had a lot of respect from the boys o the pitch - including 5/6 first team players. Their manager Allan Johnstone turned up for the the last 15 minutes and took the reigns mind and he was just a very angry manager!

Although, that is one game out of many BUT I could certainly see a man capable of going through a team of underachievers and not missing!

  12. With a possible 90 points left to play for, I think Baraclough has time to actually do his job! However, the man seems too stubborn to say "I've got it wrong" and instead insists on using the same tactics, the same style of play week in and week out. We have 7 points from 24 possible. That's not the worst record considering our terrible play.

We need two wins and a draw from Morton, Partick and Dundee. Then we lose to Celtic and Aberdeen before a trip to Killie which for me is 3 points. Unless we do better than this, I think he has to go.

  13. Safe to say it will be "Motherwell 0" if we play the same game as Wednesday night. To win this we need to break their play up, close them down and just clear the ball when possible. Not the long ball game we played at Tynecastle. Mick only ever saw one pass, ffs. Most imprtantly, dont pass the ball back to ripley from the half way line. And dont take short free kicks from half way either. We have target men that need to be used.

Gonna go for another shoddy defeat. Gutless performance. 3-0 Dons. Unless Barraclough learns how to read a game we will keep losing.

  14. Had some time to settle myself down and think about the game, which was as bad as, if not worse than, anything from the Malpas Reign.

Thought Ripley made one mistake all night. McManus played well defensively but only looked for one option when playing the ball forward. Laing was fairly solid. Law was the best of the back four IMO.

Midfield and you have to say this is where we lost the game. Mistake after mistake. The Penalty is laughable, McDonald lost his temper and tried to rugby tackle Sam. Lasley and Taylor played okay on the ball but failed to close down Gomis and Bauben. On the wings Marv struggled to do much until the closing seconds. Ainsworth shat it out of every single challenge.

Up front Moult was out of his depth. Target man with no support for large spells.

Think Barra set the team out with the wrong tactics and did nothing to fix this. Bringing off your Captain when the team is 2-0 down and not bringing on any attackers until late on caused us to rut at the back and basically wait for full time.
