Killie dropped two points now so quite a good day if all the results now stay as is
-
Any comments from those at the game on how Jones shaped up?
-
Has the pitch gone tits up again? Seen this comment on the BBC commentary: "The Fir Park pitch has taken on its familiar post-Christmas appearance with less and less green grass on show."

2-0 get in there

FFS people, it was a technicality and it happens. Feel sorry for the lad cos he had seen this as a good move - and so did we - he wants to play football and we need his skills. This was a good deal for everyone involved and its a disgrace that because there are so many shite over complicated rules in place in modern day football - this situation can arise. Just pisses me off that he will now rot for the rest of the season in the background at Leeds. Can understand the rule (almost) but surely it should only apply to deals done outside the transfer window. ie if he agrees to a loan during a transfer window then it goes thru but no loan deal allowed if outside the window unless its a proven emergency loan!!

Exactly what now needs to happen - ditch the SPL & SFL & SJFL and create one organisation with the strategic aims of administrating Scottish football AND improving Scottish football at all levels.
-
Dont be stupid - only the representatives from you know who get chairs and all others are expected to kneel before them!!
-
BBC Clicky Here is the latest - cant wait to read the clubs official statement today to understand the thinking and after JB's comments on SKY - which side of the fence is he on!!
-
Cant believe after all the mouthing off from club managers and chairmen from at least 4 or 5 teams, they have today voted through the 10 team SPL. Unfuckingbelievable!!! They are not just happy with killing off Scottish football for good but they all want a chance at fucking the corpse
-
very true!! Would settle for that though
-
Teams below us are on the up and have games in hand - unless SM can pull something off in this transfer window AND get us playing - then we could easily finish as low as 10th!!
-
I want to be a Blackpool fan!
-
In his defence - he hasnt really had a run in the team and only one start. With Blackman, Sutton and Murphy in the squad he hasnt had a look-in and compare his time on the pitch with the amount of time offered to Gow!! Still it free's up a wage but would still like to have seen more of him......
-
Naw - calm doon there. We want Ayr in the quarters, then Airdrie in the Semi's finishing with Buckie Thistle in the Final Can you imagine the promotion and sponsorship opportunities for that as a final....we could get Buckfast Abbey to sponsor us for a one off - Motherwell Buckie v Buckie match!! We'd all be to pissed to care who wins
-
Thats the most perfect draw (and I mean all games) that I think I have ever seen for the Cup. Someones gonna get sacked at the SFA for cocking that right up
-
Happily see Porter back but McCulloch - behave!!

Naw - nearest he would get to a bird is a chicken curry

Good To See The 'old School' There Today!
SuperCC replied to walking down the Fir Park's topic in Club Chat
Who gives a feck - hadnt realised that there was a supporters rule book! -
Dont really see the changes as "enforced"... SM let Gow go because he thought we had better options already in the squad and wanted to use the money to bring in some variety and backup - which we need to compete in the league! He lined up a team and sent them out in their best positions with instructions to pass the ball on the ground and thru the team. Liked the fact he was on the touchline keeping the momentum going and the fact we could also take the ball down either wing with ease or thru the middle. Dundee would have fancied their chances against us today and at home based on current form, were probably the favourites to go through so overall we should be pleased with not just the result but also how we achieved it. So let the manager have the plaudits for today and lets take one game at a time. Mon the Well.........

I actually thought that was excellent from JB and was not just a pissed off rant. He spoke about how Scottish football needs a fundamental change and how "we" as in Motherwell have been seeking that (all be it not obvious to the fans), and how it's the old firm thats holding it all back. JB is a businessman and not stupid - he wants Fir Park full to the rafters during July and August with punters and their families standing or sitting, wearing Well strips in the sunshine and holding a pint that they bought in the stadium (all be it in a plastic cup)!!! This is the future of and the only way the game will survive in Scotland - FFS make it happen........

Working great that one. Cheers....

Just read Mr Weirs statement, which all seems a little reactive and a little too late and once again misses the point!! Maybe the line: "What we do have to bear in mind is the importance of the funds we receive from TV deals" should have been replaced by: "What we do have to bear in mind is the importance of the funds we receive from the fans".... Such short term thinking as opposed to radical change that may result in a product that actually tempts fans back to Fir Park

Good post and well written. Totally agree that there is much more required than just tinkering with the size of the SPL as Scottish football (at both club and international level) is already fecked. Putting league reconstruction aside as the headline IMHO I see three key issues: Control of the game - need to ditch the SPL and merge all the other elements to create one controlling organisation for every level of Scottish Football with an agreed 10 year strategy to change the game after full and proper public consultation process. Impact of the OF - they were always slowly killing Scottish football and have just about succeeded. Caps on players salaries, limits on squad size, back to 3 foreigner rule, players salaries to be within a % of club revenue, and equal division of all TV and Radio revenues would all help level the playing field. Matchday experience - cheaper tickets, standing areas in grounds, alcohol back on sale, better stewarding etc and more entertaining attacking football would see attendances rise across Scotland I reckon. A strategy to achieve some of this is what we need and I'm sure many will disagree with some points and add others but without a "huge change" I dont see how it can survive unless the future really is that at 3PM on a Saturday afternoon all games will be beamed live from empty stadia and we can subscribe to a season ticket to watch the Well whilst never having to move our fat arses!! SKY will have its dream and own the game.......
