The interview process allows JB to question and challenge anyone that may be interested and also set out the constraints for the role and whilst looking a candidate in the eye - be convinced that he can do the job. Calderwood may have a semi-decent record (and no more) but he is no Mourinho and if he doesnt want to apply then JB should show no interest.

Tend to agree with that comment and based on the last 10 years of JB rule (Malpas aside, but even that seemed a good idea at the time!), I will happily back WHOEVER he decides to appoint. JB is no dummy and if he see's something in the right candidate then we need to support that

Pointless recommendation anyway that will never ever happen in the SPL. Needs 11 teams to vote through any change and some teams will not want 2 teams to be possibly relegated and the scum will never support any form of change that puts at risk their expected top 2 finish every year. Personally I think its an unfair system but it has worked well in England and elsewhere and Scotland is crying out for a change and some excitement and expectation that maybe someone else could finish second. Think that whoever tops the league over a season should always be regarded champions though.

Dont even know why they have these markets after seeing some of the stats on SSN as this story developed. In the last year bookies took over £950Million on this type of market (outside the usual FT/HT, etc bets) but actually made a total loss of about £150Million!!!! Normally a bookie wouldnt even blink if someone put £200 on a 10/1 shot but obviously they just dont understand this type of market or it is too open to abuse and they are not happy. How many 200 quid bets went on a 10/1 shot at Kempton this week in the most corrupt sport on the planet but no noise about that. If I had the sense I would have stuck £200 notes on a sending off during that match if I had realised the odds where 10/1.

Like the idea that McCall has probably made some good contacts at Championship level and has spent most of the last year scouting and talent spotting. Just the level we need to find some cheap and/or free hidden gems....

Unless JB has something magical up his sleeve (and I dont this he has this time) then I would take McGhee/Leitch back til the end of the season at least at they are still better than most of the names in the frame. If all went well then maybe that could see them swapover with Leitch then groomed for taking over full time. Bout time we put some of the shite behind us and looked at the bigger picture and the fact that the games over the next 4 weeks could make or break or season.

Meant to add as well, what about the bloke Trollope just sacked by Bristol Rovers. He has had a good run with them (up until the last few months) and lets be honest here - he has been working at the level where we would be looking for some new talent. No different to Gannon and from what I read he was well liked by everyone. Any thoughts?

What about bringing McGhee back on at least a match by match basis so that at least we have some proper management in place whilst we appoint a permanent team. Not as mad an idea as it sounds!! Amazes me though that the biggest hope we have for changing the game is to revert back to a 10 team league so we can keep the 3 or 4 games against the scum - and Motherwell were a key part in developing this radical new proposal!!

I see what your saying but some clubs really need the feedback that the matchday experience is not something thats enjoyable and actively stops fans from wanting to visit. For example, the way you are treated in the corner at Ibrox from both the Police and Stewards - never mind the hostility, is very different from the average away day at Killie!! But maybe this is something the SPL want to avoid highlighting! Good luck with your research.
