  1. Motherwell-v-Hibs, a few years ago(when Terry Butcher was still at FP)

Me(bored, and looking at the crowd)...having listened to a substitution announcement, watched, with incredulity, as the player ran on to the pitch(backwards) not having had time to pull on the team's jersey, and still pulling up his socks,

"That's a disgrace, not giving him time to get changed..."

Katie, from inside her hood,."Mum.....that's the referee..."

  2. Totally agree with the original post. Maybe it is just me, but I think the whole forum has went a bit shite of late.

I used to go into work and find myself spending a good hour or so reading this place, now I'd rather just get on with my work.

I agree...its mostly about football.

  3. Pie I am sure that the old brigade took exception to the manner in which you chose to support the team when you were a young man as it was very different to the way they used to show their approval/disapproval.

Don't get me wrong, I think that the younger boys these days have been lucky and perhaps spoilt by the recent experiences we have enjoyed.

It's worth bearing in mind that the channels of communication are far more open now than they were when you were a young man following the game. Where you used to have a whinge about the game on the way out the ground, it was forgotten the next day as you were only talking to the people around you who were actually there, no phones, no computers.

The things that are posted on shite sites like this have an air of semi-permanance (and self importance)and not only that, they invite debate from people you would never previously have had any contact with (guys that would never dream of being so vocal in "real life").

Fans are not any better or worse that when you enjoyed your hayday, it's just easier to hear from those who back in the day would not have been able to make their daft voices heard.

I suppose what I am saying is that it's just as sanctimonious and pointless to decry these internet nobodies as it is to be one of the c***s in the first place. Much the same as adding "RIP" online thread about a bunch of folk you otherwise have no connection to.

Pretty much that the internet just invites people to pontificate on others in anonymous and dickheaded manner. Much as I am now.

This is a serious position I find my self in :) ...

I think this post sums up perfectly the shallow connections we make now as a matter of routine.

I agree with Pie's sentiments, and I agree with Eddie.

I need to go and study!!

  4. We are not Barcelona, we are not AC Milan, and never will be. We are Motherwell FC, from a small town less than 20miles from 2 of the biggest football clubs in the world. It's a Rollercoaster Ride, and during the last 20yrs of our 125yr history we've been reletively spoiled, so get on, grip tightly and stop complaining.

The point of the whole thread.

    'Well said.

(maybe the sat nav on the wean's scooter was faulty.......)

  5. We stayed to the bitter end, to applaud the players off the pitch, and I wasn't as annoyed at the result, as I was at the number of folk who left before the end.

(We were also on TV that day, every one of us!!)

  6. Current leaders are (I believe);

    1. Paul Slane to Celtic

    2. Is Yassin shite?

There will need to be some discussion on this thread before those champions of length are beat ;)

...not forgetting Frazzle's "Mark Reynolds is murrrrrrrder".

  7. I'm sorry, but I TOTALLY agree with this.

This isn't the first time we've seen a horrendous error from Reynolds. I accept that our players aren't going to be perfect, that they're going to make errors. Look through any of my posts and you won't find me criticising any of our players or saying they're not good enough - except Reynolds. And the reason for that is the amount of stick Craigan, especially, and other players get when, in my opinion, they don't make any more mistakes than Reynolds. I suppose the fact that he appears to be so immune to criticism makes me want to criticise him all the more.

    What does this mean??

I'm not saying he's murder. But he's no way near one of the top 5 defenders in the SPL, and I honestly don't think he's even the best defender in our team.

That's not "totally" agreeing with Frazzle's original post.

The title of the thread is unnecessary. By all means, criticise his performance last night(and I imagine Mark Reynolds will be his own worst critic)but for goodness sake, leave it at that.
