Interesting if we do sign another defender. Would be a clear sign Baraclough has no confidence in the current defenders. Which, to be fair, you can't really argue with! Hartley is left footed so maybe that offers some explanation?

Go back one more game to the Dundee game.... Good bit of business with Long The amount of balls that should be collected by our goalie in the six yard box is unreal and if its in there it SHOULD be the goalies. They havent all lead to goals but without that commanding keeper opposing teams just rain down shots and crosses as they know there is a good chance it will be dropped or handled poorly or not cleared by the defence. If this goalie improves on that then its a good move. I do think Dan has kept the score way down in games but you only have to go back to the Dundee game where he firstly dropped a ball to let them score and then was also equally at fault with O'Brien when they fucked it up a ran into each other. He shouldnt have been lobbed in Stjarnan and he also shouldnt have been lobbed against Killie. His kicking is fuckin awful as well. I am not saying all will be well if we replace Dan in between the sticks but it will certainly help.

To be fair, Hutton is regularly playing for Villa now. If we count Robertson as having made it I would say Hutton has too. He just didn't become the wonder right back he promised to be at Rangers.

It's more likely Aberdeen hand them a shoeing and they are still 6 points behind us. But...you might be right so its one to watch definately. Another potential turn of events is that Aberdeen beat Ross County on the 7th, we beat Ross County on the 14th and Caley beat St Mirren on the 14th. End of day 14th we are 3 above St Mirren with a game in hand and 9 above Ross County. If that happens and we have a few key players back then -

Pleased with a very decent point. First half pish. Second half a lot lot better with more determination, composure and forward play. Pleased with Thomas and Erwin. Moore looked busy. Kerr and Reid did well in the second half too. Can't judge Laing really - he had a couple of mistakes but we won't know if that was a nervous start or if he is always like that until he get a couple of games in. Straker was quiet in the first half but majority of game was on the other side of the pitch. Thought he slotted in very well at left back. Composed and played the ball out rather than just a clearance.

Easier said than done though, I would think. It would more than likely cost us money to pay him off and we don't exactly have loads of that. Then work in a lead time to get someone in on a suitable wage and have time, and be good enough, to turn it round. Difficult decision to make if he does not get some good results.
