hotels look dirt cheap. lots of ok looking hotels for 25or 30 quid a night via laterooms.com, Expedia etc. where are people staying - Athens centre or out near the Olympic stadium?
I am in the Novus City Hotel, "This hotel is located in Athens (Metaxourgio), close to National Theatre of Greece, National Archaeological Museum of Athens, and Parthenon. Also nearby are Acropolis and Benaki Museum".
Plus it has got a swimming pool and a bar ON THE ROOF.

Did the charter to Iceland and it was a good trip, getting everything done for you made everything much easier. Drove to Nancy, which was a laugh.
Flying out of Heathrow on Wednesday morning, heading back Thursday afternoon. Need to sort out a hotel, any tips?
The hotel I'm in seems OK, Novus City Hotel. swimming pool on the roof,

went by Charter to Odense, and no hestation to do so again this time. Start at Fir Park and finish at Fir Park, and everything else in between is sorted/organised/taken care of, save beer n food money.
Add in getting to/from airports, hassle of connections, and going thu Heathrow .............and the good deals don't look so good afterall imho
Can you not trust yourself to travel on your own accord big man???
I went to Odense myself and was only a day and a half late returning.
I am going this time via Heathrow, I bet I won't be as late this time.

you might want to check about rail travel in greece...a few weeks back when i was trying to look at the travel pass thru europe they no longer included travel in greece because there was a problem with internal train system
I just checked the Rail Europe website and there are no trains travelling in or out of Greece.
-
If my mate wasn't adam ant about flying, would consider it myself. Great way to travel in Europe. Did the train all the way from Elgin to Nancy, and Scotrail apart thoroughly enjoyed it, especially once on Eurostar. Certainly beats the airport experience these days
I went to Odense by train and it was fabulous, (well, what I can remember).
Trains to Nancy from Paris were brilliant too.
At least on the train you can get cargo'd up and it is a stress free journey. (unless you miss a stop or two)?????????
-
How much does that come in at?
Best web site to go on is Rail europe.
Comes in at £150 from London St Pancras to Copenhagen via Brussels and Cologne sleeper.
Not counting the sleeper or any train to London from Motherwell.
-
Well, if it is Copenhagen, I am looking at sleeper from Motherwell, sunday night.
Eurostar to Brussels monday morning, then Brussels to Cologne.
Sleeper from Cologne to Copenhagen, arrive Tuesday morning.
Has anybody had amnesia and deja vu at the same time???????????????

why not wear it to fir park or an spl away ground?
Because, as I have said, I bought a Motherwell tartan kilt to wear when Motherwell get into Europe.
Who cares what the Turks, Greeks or any body else wears?
I have worn my kilt to Fir Park and Hampden.
I tell you what, a lot of other Well fans will be wearing kilts as well.
You can wear what you want, why are you so obsessed about this?
You don't like kilts, we get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Orient Express for you mate, if it's Fenerbache ????
I think I am banned from all European train operating companies.
I'm going to ask Michael Palin to come with me this time, he doesn't miss trains.
Regarding the wearing of the kilt.
I bought a Motherwell tartan kilt to wear when Motherwell get into Europe.
I wore it at Nancy and Odense and I will wear it away in the Champions League.
I am a Motherwell fan and Scottish. The kilt is our national dress.
Is it only the tartan army who are allowed to wear kilts????

Well at least we're now talking about it on here which will hopefully generate some interest (and cash) for the Club.
I think we,ve all had other things on our minds lately on the playing side and the initial enthusiasm has gone a bit cold. (to be honest who has given it much thought since the launch?)
The Club should grasp the nettle here and perhaps organise some more open nights or man an information stand at the next few home games to try and get things going again.
Personally, I think if they allowed a monthly direct debit of £25 over 12 months then I think that would apppeal to a lot more fans rather than £100 or even £50 at a time.
Edit does anyone know if that may already be the case ???
I would sign up to this no problem.
I am paying up my season ticket and adding £25 a month would be OK.
As people have said, January is a bad month to start anything and at the moment I am rooked.
I still intend to become a member but will have to wait until my finances are a wee bit healthier.
It would be good to get an update on how many have signed up as this might encourage others to invest as well as information stand, open nights etc.
-
Well it sounds like the players are doin their bit to turn things around so lets hope ALL the fans can get behind them for the rest of the season. Let's be honest how many people were expecting us to be 6 points clear in third place at this point in the season??? What a great achievement in itself!
I just wish we could get more supporters to turn out. I know there are many reasons but hopefully some of the regulars can talk some of our armchair fans into coming back to a few home games for the run in to the end of the season. Would be great to qualify for europe as 3rd palce team!
