  1. According to and STV reporter on twitter Seems like Murphy is on his radar. He just needs to be more consistent and keep plugging away, his time will come. Sadly it will be more than likely when he is away from Fir Park when he does get the call. I wouldn't say his lack of inclusion is shocking and I can understand why he and Templeton are not in the squad, but then again I can't see what the likes of Hanley, Wilson and Forrest have done to justify their inclusion.
  2. McCall: Murphy will be better off staying at Motherwell for one more year Interview with McCall talking to Keys and Gray on talksport, speaking about Murphy & Motherwell etc...
  3. Yeh but there is still a long way to go in the transfer window. We didn't sign Blackman till the 13th of August last season or the Juke till the 26th of August the season before that. I know this season has started earlier for us than the last two but that's not the EPL teams problem, their season dosen't start till the 13th of August and we will just have to wait and see who's available when they start to decide their sqauds for the forthcoming season. Personally I'd rather we get by just now for 2 or 3 games and try and secure a decent player on loan for the rest ot the season than panic buying another Casagolda just for the sake of adding numbers to the squad.
  4. Better reception from us than them, seems they are divided on him already... My link My favourties being and surprisingly
  5. Went for Hutch. Although as above he could have cost us with two identical slack passes he was otherwise outstanding, brilliant blocks, interceptions and showed great bravery including taking one sqaure in the nuts at the end.
  6. Fuckin hell give me strength. 1 start! Is that all he gets before being written off? He wasn't even that bad considering he was left isolated by himself for long spells, no real service for him as you yourself admitted that the game was played mostly in the midfield. Instead he was forced too feed off scraps and balls chipped in to him against a 6'4 centre half. He also came closest to scoring for us in the first half with a chance largely down to his own work. forcing a good save from Bell. Not to mention when Law was through if had looked up and played it to Mchugh who was free on the six yard line he would have had a tap in and probably been the match winner. He was by no means brilliant and tired badly towards the end which was evident and should have been replaced by Smith but he was far from the abomination you describe.
  7. Utter shite, you are talking out your arse. The game was good and very entertaining with both teams trying to get the ball down and play decent football. One of the problems with Scottish football is people like you get annoyed if we have the audacity to string three passes together and don't just lump it long at the first chance. Whilst most nations Scotland play at International level and in European games are all much more adept at keeping the ball, retaining possesion and waiting for the opening. We played well considering we were without Higdon and I feel although Mchugh did a decent job he should have made way for Smith for the last 20 mins as he was blowing out his arse and it would have given us someone with a physical presence up front to try and get on the end of cross or a set piece. Law really should have scored. Still top of the league without a goal conceeded.
  8. BBC Sport journalist Jane Lewis earlier tweeted Thought they were after Goodwillie or maybe a Murphy Goodwillie partnership? Anyway there's more teams being linked everyday, it's beginning to look unlikely that he will be here beyond the transfer window.

    Law

Hateley actually has 5 goals I agree.
  10. It wasn't to Nicky Law As for Gunning, maybe Blackburn are looking for a nominal fee that we can't afford to pay or maybe Gunning won't lower his wage demands to come to us. Would have been nice to have him back as a permanent player as he had potential sell on value but wasn't too keen on getting him on loan again as I would rather just give our own youth players a chance. Overall I'm not fussed, would have been nice to have him back but I think another striker is more of a priority.
  11. Speaking of opening day games the BBC have us as one of their "classic matches" from the opening day of the season from the SPL archives, a 2-2 all draw against Hibs http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/14243084.stm Brings back memories... Pat Nevin player/chief exec Don Goodman and Lee McCulloch up front Tony Thomas at the back Alex Mcleish Hibs manager with his ginger hair a shade lighter and a lot thicker Dirk Lehmann scoring twice for Hibs Stevie Nicholas scoring a late equaliser (where's he now?) Can't believe it was 12 years ago.
  12. Peter Innes has left the club. Link
  13. Certainly doesn't seem like he intends on retiring any time soon..
  14. Was going to post something similar, our recent record against them at Fir Park is really good. As for the game itself, I think it's going to be a tough one, ICT will be strong and aggressive and we will have to match them, although their defence always looks on the slow side so hopefully Murphy and Humphrey can expose that. I would happily settle for a scruffy1-0 win right now because I don't think this will be an easy game, having said that if Murphy and Law can play like they did on Saturday I fancy us to win it by a goal or two. Roll on Saturday
  15. Agree, he's not even played a second of competitive football for us yet!! Also agree with this.
  16. Good game, decent performance Murphy and Law were class Think People are being a bit harsh about Higdon but it hardly suprises me. Ross Forbes had a really good game but I can't tell if that was because the pace of pre season game suits him. Hutchinson showed he still has a long way to go to be the player some on here think he's going to be. Humphrey was frustrating at times but put in several good crosses including the goal. All in all I was reasonably satisfied with the way we played, some really good passing football and great link up play especially down the left. Defence looked a bit shaky at times but overall if we can add a couple of more players I think we could be in for a decent season.
  17. Well we certainly need another striker. In the recent interviews the consensus seems to be that McCall is looking to bring in two more players, one permanent and one on loan. The one on loan I assusme is Gunning/Reynolds to give us a left sided defensive cover. That leaves one more space and if we get gunning/reynolds we look set in defence and we have more than enough midfielders. So that leaves us with finding a striker. Would Porter be the answer, I have fond memories of him and thought he was a great player for us but with his injury record and his wage demand's you've got to wonder if we saw the best of him and is he worth the risk. I have no idea if the above story is true(doubt it, no offence ) but if he was willing to come back I would like to think the club could offer him something, as with a fit Chris Porter, we would have the strongest non OF striking options in the SPL. As I say not sure about the story but I am desperate for the club to sign another striker as I'm not sure we can really rely on McHugh and Smith. If not Porter you look around and there's not much left, most players we could have got in our competitive wee market will have themselves sorted by now. If Porter was willing to come back for a decent wage I'd love to see him back but I can't help but feel he will have better options elsewhere. Where does that leave us... who knows but we always seem to sort ourselves out in the end.
  18. Well side: Randolph, Hateley, Craigan, Hutchinson, Hammell, Humphrey, Lasley, Jennings, Law, Murphy, Higdon Subs: Hollis, Page, Forbes, McHugh, Lawless, Saunders Good to see Randolph and Jennings back
  19. Doubt it as the Cooper stand won't be open.
  20. 4 of Forbes 9 goals from that season came from the spot. Take them away and he still got 5 goals from midfield, not bad considering it was his first season in full time football. Pretty sure Lasley and Jennings have only managed 5 goals between them in the last two seasons and I don't think coke or hughes got that many goals either. But he's shite, slow, can't tackle, can't pass, can't shoot, can't move, can't play football, lazy.... etc
