Motherwell V The Rangers Spfl Playoff Final 2Nd Leg 31/05/15
fizoxy replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
I've been a total wreck since Thursday afternoon. After the st mirren game I had accepted our fate, but rather than celebrating going 3-0 up at ibrox all I could think about was how we were going to screw this up, or how the media would conspire against us. I was too nervous to watch the game today but I finally switched it on just before our first, and all I can say is that we were immense. Laing had one of his best games for us, and Johnston and Lionel are a different class when they are on. But what a piece of bloody business to get skippy and Pearo back, I love them to bits. And if I can come to an arrangement with my wife and mrs Lasley, I would like to propose to keef. It's half one here, so I am going to get pished and troll folk on Twitter. Enjoy the next few drama free weeks folks -
Worried they're going to lose the head and start throwing in some cynical tackles.

With Lasley, hammell, and mick signed up for next season, I can see value in keeping Sutton as part of an experienced core of players to help bring on the young ones. Stay or go, he probably deserves a bit more credit than he gets.

Erwin and pearson's pressing was a huge part of our game last night. Law looked decent, and Straker almost looked like a player, and the two wingers were reminiscent of twaddle and townsley back in the day
-
I just assumed they had boots on the ground on match days, surprised to hear they don't. Also waiting on the international payment option.

New head of recruitment confirmed http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2015/03/09/gary-owers-is-head-of-recruitment/

The pressure is on Aberdeen, everyone will have us down for a humping. Time to piss in their chips at pittodrie again.
-
McKinnon and lambert should have brought us a good few quid.

We play county, st mirren and Partick again, some twice. That's is where we get the chance to pull ahead. No point worrying about games other than our own. As for form, it means nothing, before yesterday we hadn't won this year, and Inverness hadn't lost. There are also way too many variables to consider, like opposition, conditions, venue, day of the week, injuries and suspensions. Each point isn't equal, and there will be many twists and turns yet.

Looks like it was in the sun and this spammy looking site scraped it from there. Dates are all messed up.
-
How did we actually line up?
-
A wee bit of graham and pettigrew
-
He was playing in midfield for Millwall.
-
Coyne and Arnott. Although Coyne and Coyle were pretty nifty when they got to play together.
-
I just assumed it would be readily available on youtube, pretty disappointed. The CIS semi v hearts isn't easy to find either.

A strike rate of a goal every 3 games. Just like John Sutton :-) But stats aside, an excellent signing. Only 31, looks fit, and played at a higher level than us pretty much since he left.
-
Maybe he can move upstairs
-
We're going to do them dodgy tabloid headline style.
-
Speaking of the board, we haven't vetted the new board members on here. Anyone got their LinkedIn ids?

McManus doing his best to confirm what most of us think of him.

A good manager doesn't shoe-horn players into a system. He picks the best system to win the match at hand, or at least something the players are used to. A good manager doesn't think for the long-term when his team are in a relegation dog fight, he sets his team up with the best 11 players to get the result. Whether that is via a super defensive approach looking for a 1-0, or a more attacking mindset. What I am seeing is tinkering with the hope that something clicks in the next couple of months, and that in the meantime other teams around us stay shite. I think that there is no chance that we make a change now, as we have went all in with his changes and half the squad are his guys. We also just employed an assistant last week, and I doubt we're going to fire him after a week in the job.

Aberdeen fans will be all over that one too.

It will be all over Twitter soon, there's a fella that likes to tweet stuff that's made up on here. Then It will be in the papers since Twitter is their main source. Then it will turn out the real story is our left back is getting dropped because he is bad. As for Saturday, 2-1 us and an identity crisis for most of us.

English and foriegn managers rarely make it unless they have old firm money, and any good players need to be out of Scotland for the sake of their careers before they're 21 and piss their career away. How many Scottish players have had short spells in England before returning to Scotland? The talent is there but the work ethic isn't. The culture in our game is terrible and any time someone tries to shake things up they get rejected. I don't think we should sack baraclough, not because I think he's particularly good, but partly because we can't have our wasters of players hold the club and the fans to ransom. The reality is that the relegation scrap will be between four teams and it will go down to the last two games. If we change our manager now it will just show us up as a shambles and cause more upheaval. It may please some of our players, but will alienate others. Our only chance of staying honors of this regime does it.

You're right. There should be more teams in the premierleagueship.
