AP is either half injured or on the way out. The game was there to win and we didnt bring on our only experienced stiker. While we had a couple of forced changes, I dont believe that we wouldn't have brought on a stiker for Just at the end instead of McGhee if they were genuinely available.

We definitely looked off it physically, which may just be down to Hibs having the size advantage all over the park, but even at that I'd say we were marginally the better team. We carved out enough opportunities that could have got us the 3 points, but like most, im not complaining at a point at Easter Road. Every team has to deal with injuries during the season, so looks like its our turn at the moment. Hopefully we're not dealing with anything long term. Olly Whyte scored again for Stenny today. So if we have a midfield crisis, maybe he can come in.

We haven't been at our most fluid, but have still carved out a couple.of half chances. JT and Just on the break look like our best chances to score in this one. Hibs marginally the better team so far, we've done well to stop them from playing the killer pass, but its still very scrappy.

I mean, he didnt miss 😆
-
He's out of contract because he had a relegation release clause.
-
Yep, its free money, its not as if the fans are going to call it anything other than Fir Park.
-
I may be wrong, but I don't think Welsh is left footed. He plays there because someone has to, as we dont have any actual left sided CBs, and thats less of a need when you play with a back 4.

We have a lot more players on 1 year options than I thought, I dont know how enforceable they are, but at the very least it gives us more negotiating power for fees. This summer Koutroumbis Gordon Connelly Robinson Nicholson SOD Slattery 2026 +1 year club option Balmer Stuparevic 2027 Hendry - paid a fee McGinn 2027 + 1 year club option Stam - paid a fee Maswanhise Watt Just - paid a fee Said - paid a fee Longelo - paid a fee Ward Ox Sparrow
-
This year is the option year that we triggered on his existing contract when he came back from injury.
-
It was a bad reaction, but the guy went head to head with him and made (soft) contact, which is very risky with our refs constantly looking for ways to make the game about them.
-
I went for McGinn, but to be fair, the only player that I'd argue against is Callum Ward, as he had nothing to do, and even then he pinged some great passes. Our back 4 handled St Mirren with ease, and I thought mcginn was immense in that. He and Welsh dealt with a much bigger and more physical St Mirren attack, and gave them nothing.

I do believe that we're trying, but every time we put something in front of him he turns around and falls over. * but seriously, I'd love to keep him.

We (and all other football fans) are quick to call for a managers head when results take a downturn, and in the majority of cases thesedays the club boards oblige. As such, managers need to make a move when their stock is high. What I don't like is that they can just resign and rock up to another club, which seems to undermine any negotiations on a fee. It's similar with players, loyalty sounds logical, but its their career. I always think about the sliding doors moment with Trevor Carson. We block his move to celtic, then he gets injured, and he ends up on the bench for a few years, and is now at County. It's totally possible that if he had made that move hed have had 3 or 4 years of celtic wages for sitting on a bench, then move on to the likes of County with a lot more in the bank.

You mean Groningens Monster? Don't think I could handle this team also having someone that batters people.
-
We talk about making sure we focus on our own game, so why not scrabble?
-
I'll go with either Emil Gron Pedersen, Kristoffer Odemarksbakken or Erling Myklebust, based on them being Norwegian and I like their names. KO is a winger, but he would be a great partner for AP and JT from an xSyllables perspective.

I wonder if the way we are setting ourselves up to play actually widens the talent pool we can recruit from, since this style is very prevalent in the rest of Europe. Prior to this season, our record with signing foreign players directly (i.e. not via another British team) has been woeful. Who was the last foreign player we signed from a non UK league that was successful? This season we have Fadi, Said and Just who have been excellent, as well as Priestman, who is promising. That's a crazy improvement.

If say that they'd have to fight to get back into a winning team, but we know fine well that JBA is making 5 changes on Saturday. 😄
-
How disrespectful to call him out in public like that. Ian McCall is going ro be all over that. 😄 Iy must be shite for wee Callum not getting to be the flat track bully every week.
-
I'm at work. Looking forward to watching this game when I get home.
-
Happy christmass all.

That's very believable. They've spent most of their lives watching their team ragdoll weaker opposition, and only having to worry about one other team, who they couldn't survive without. Now the poor souls are leaving for the game not even sure if they're going to win. Such a shame 😆

January is a sellers market. The only players that will move early are the ones that clubs are actively trying to offload, as such we are definitely going to have to overpay. It will be interesting to see how we approach it. We're miles ahead of where we thought we'd be at this point in "the project." One thing to keep an eye on is the fight for places in the world cup squads. Maybe there's some fringe players that could become available as they need guaranteed games to try and force their way into international plans. Would selectors care about performance at motherwell?

I'm sure there will be a barely legible word salad post on FB soon enough decrying the treatment of the people who did this when they are caught.

Shame that var would still give that one today, and also the one that Callum McGregor bought not long after that.
