  1. We might be able to loan them out if they're fit in time for the windows and don't figure into our plans. But it's very unlikely that we're going to mutual them. Even if we wanted to, I don't know why any of them would give up any of their contract when they face uncertainty after a lengthy injury. At worst they'll not get back to full fitness before their contract ends, and leqve next summer, and at best a couple of them will be fit by January and save us from loaning in some children as deadline panic buys. So I doubt the new manager will be hanging any hopes on them either way.
  2. Seddon played 200+ games in his career, including 30 odd in the season before joining us, so I'm not sure we can call him injury prone. Definitely not in the mould of Sam Nicholson, who is a genuine perma crock. Seddon had 2 injuries with us, and missed games at the start of the season when wilson kept his place. The big injury he had last season was the ankle one that put him out for months, that i think happened in a game. It would come down to how hard those are to recover from long term. I like him, and he's a better footballer than the other options there, he also gives us a good fdw options on the left of defence, whether LB, LWB, or LCB, so I'd like to keep him, especially since decent left bqcks dont grow on trees, but he hasn't played enough for me to be turning up at FP with a pitch fork if he wasn't extended.
  3. I like Casey. He's flawed, but definitely a good defender at our level that would get a game for most teams in our league. Having a defender that can chip in with some goals, and a player with some personality is always nice. On the other hand, our defense overall is poor, so I am not going to be too fussed about anyone leaving it. Not every goal is a defenders fault, but we do have a group of error prone defenders, and not enough going forward to gloss over that.
  4. I'd worry about the time it is taking once we're past this week, as that would put us on a longer timeline than when we got Wimmer, which also had the work permit time built in. The difficulty this time around is that nothing else is happening because it's the close season, and we announced a couple of signings already, so we're just all bored and waiting for info. The other wrinkle is that we have a good chunk of the squad decided, and yet to realize any funds from a Miller sale, so there's no rush on that front. We also have pre season all sorted and organized, so not much to panic about.
  5. It's all speculation, nothing of substance has surfaced from the club or any potential applicants.
  6. They said the process was going to be the same as last time, and we didn't know anything until the manager was announced, so it will be the same this time around. Last time took 3 weeks, I assume it will be similar this time. The papers are too busy with Rangers to do any digging on us, and it seems that the leaky ones are no longer at the club. There has been absolutely nothing to suggest any candidate is in the running, internal or external, just MJC trying to make Richard Foster happen for some reason.
  7. I don't know if he was any good in his loan at queens Park last year, but he wasn't that great for us, then got injured. Right back/rwb probably isn't where we need to be looking anyway.
  8. I'm similar in that I'd rather it was someone unknown to us. However, I don't think there's any logic in that other than if it's someone I know, I probably gave him dogs abuse as an opposition manager. I don't like Robbie Neilson, but that's because he was the hearts manager, I have no insight into whether he'd be a good manager for us, or if some unknown Austrian is better. It's the same with scottish players, we get more excited by a random North Macedonian over some dude from Morton. Even if the latter is the better player.
  9. Carrick would be a great appointment, I heard his name doing the rounds too. We'd be a great landing spot for him to rebuild his brand.
  10. To be fair, we normally do their job for them by discussing candidates on here.
  11. We're pulling Germans out of a hat sonthe papers don't have to. But on top of my John Terry suggestion, the English league jobs are getting filled and Ian Evatt and Des Buckingham are still available.
  12. The name doing the rounds is Thomas Wörle. Completely pulled out of thin air on P&B, but I want to see I'd the papers puck up on it anyway. Comes from the Ralf Ragnig gegenpress school like wimmer
  13. It took 3 weeks to get wimmer in place. Not anywhere near the time to panic. I'd argue that there's more chance of getting a Tony Doc if we rush things.
  14. I'm running with it. Terry Butcher took the managers job 12 years after his last England cap (77 in total), and was famous for playing in blue. John Terry is 13 years since his last England cap (78 in total), and wears his blue strip even when he isn't playing. It's written in the stars. I don't think he lives in Stirling though. Dont get me wrong, he would be utter shite.
  15. Yep, and it looks like they've offered him a new deal this time too 😄 And, for the uninitiated https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/events/john-terry-celebration/photos
  16. There's a few english managers that could be good, including Buckingham, but there's also a bunch of managerial vacancies in the EFL that they're all linked with, so we may have to see how that shakes out. Did Ian Evatt apply last time, or was his name just thrown out by someone on here? Saw an article with John Terry lamenting about his unsuccessful efforts to secure a manager job, maybe he could do a job here? He's obviously remembered fondly for his cup winning exploits with us in '91.
  17. Is that the club that the chairman is linked to through his father in law?
  18. The good thing is that we're unlikely to go with any of the names that have been touted. The record posted a list of dundee candidates, which included someone that a P&B poster threw out there for a laugh, so I'd ignore anything the papers say.
  19. Despite hammering them in the first game, I could barely watch the second leg. Even after Marvin's precision finish I was pacing around and turning the TV off and on. I think I chilled out after the 6th went in.
  20. 410 games at a 50% win percentage. There's a bunch of championship seasons in there, but also taking hearts to 3rd a couple of times and winning a cup. Other championship managers have been touted on here, so I don't see why that should be a blocker. Put his exact experience and stats on a foreign manager, and we'd be hailing it as a great appointment. Any experienced manager is going to split opinion, because you don't go 10 years in management without ups and downs. Like I said, I don't want him because I've never really liked him, maybe that's because I don't like hearts. But the argument that he isn't good enough is silly. Most of us want an exciting manager from outside of Scotland because it's something new, and there's the chance we find a diamond in the rough. Bringing in someone with considerable experience makes that less likely, so it's boring.
  21. If another manager was available who had 3 years in the championship with Neilson's record, we'd be all over it, jeez, some people want Imrie. I don't really like Neilson, mainly because of how he comes across, but he's a good manager.
  22. Maybe we're working out what to do with him, or he's working notice, or we're giving him the chance to apply or be the #2 for the new guy. Can't imagine there's much for him to do at this point of the close season.
  23. Having a recruitment team is useful for transitional periods like this. Managers aren't as involved in signings as they used to be. Glad that things are still moving. Contract end dates didn't just change because the manager left, and we pretty much know who is gone anyway. Wimmer left on Friday, it's Tuesday now, with a bank holiday in between. Not sure what information of substance on the manager situation the club can offer up at this point. I'm sure we will get a video soon enough. The club did a great job of keeping things close to their chest last time, and I hope they manage the same again.
