I'm not going to get pre-outraged about Mugabi and Crawford and claim were going to build a team around them or something. Both are decent enough options in areas where were going to need 2 or 3 additional signings on top of them. I am hoping though, that with the planned smaller squad, that we are going to try for a more quality v quantity approach for the remaining signings.

O'donnell is fine, but I still think he's hoping for bigger things, so I'd prefer we move on instead of hanging on waiting to see if he's still available before the season starts. Guthrie has another year on his contract I think, so I doubt we are interested in him. Dunne was in the training pics last week, running with the rest of the team, so he's definitely alive.

2 wins (St Mirren, County), a draw (Utd), and 2 losses (Accies, Killie).

He was pictured running with the rest of them in one of the club tweets last week.

Just the usual PSA that contracted players would need to be paid off in order to leave the club, because they have a contract and they're not going to give up their income for our benefit. If we want to release these players for being shite I doubt they'll find better wages elsewhere, due to them being shite, and as such it's going to take a chunk of money to entice them to leave. I think our best option in that regard is to help them find another club, which may be difficult due to them being shite and all. Loans might be an option. We also need backups, as this season has shown, so I'd be reluctant to let the likes of grimshaw and mcginley go. Even if we keep the contracted guys, we are still in a decent position with most of our worst players being the ones that are going, and some of our biggest contracts too. There should be some scope for Alexander to shape the squad to his liking.

I didn't read too much into that comment, I think he just means that the players tend to get complacent after good results.

Spot on. Is mystic Meg still alive? If so, she's out of a job.

Picked Roberts because he won a couple of things and looked the most likely do do something out of the front 3. Although we were pretty poor across the board. Couldn't really pick anyone out of the back 5, and thought about Maguire since he scored, but our set pieces were absolutely dreadful.
-
We were poor and deserved to lose, maybe not by that scoreline, but we were barely ever in the game. We're 3 results above the bottom 3 clubs, but it's still going to be a crazy last 5 games. The quicker we get one more win the better. Funny to see St. Mirren lose out on the top 6 though.

It’s a good message to send, that you’ll keep your place if you play well, and aren’t guaranteed your place back if you miss games.
-
He’s injured, but even if he wasn’t, we have Mugabi and Gallagher on the bench so it wouldn’t make any sense for him to be in the squad. Fair play on keeping the same team again, I’d have brought in Gallagher, but can’t really argue.

A vicar, a priest, and a rabbit walk into a blood donation clinic. The nurse asks the rabbit what his blood type his, and he said "type-o" 1-0 us.

We hardly coasted the last game against them, so this won't be an easy one, but we have improved since then. If we can take our chances I think we will be fine. I wouldn't complain at a point here though, that would all but guarantee we can't finish bottom.

Someone said that grimshaw had glandular fever

I'm more worried about us not getting to host the euros now. I think the league will be fine. Not sure what the cops could have done yesterday other than maybe being prepared ahead of time, but that just shows that we probably aren't ready to have big international games with fans in the ground. It's a real shame when we can see the light at the end of the tunnel with this shit.

Unfortunately the accuracy of this prediction so far means that we're losing to killie.

Crawford had another excellent game, and did well to win the penalty, but 2 goals and an assist should make you a stick on for MotM, so Cole gets it for me.

Another really good performance, with everyone playing their part again. I would have been tempted to bring in Gallagher for this one, but fair play to Alexander for sticking with the winning team. The defense was pretty solid throughout, and Kelly proved his worth once again with a great save just before half time. Shout out to Carroll for that last ditch block in the 2nd half as well. The midfield 3 work well together, with all of them running themselves ragged again, and Crawford is getting better each game. It will be interesting to see if any of the 3 start for us next season. Up front it was the same as last week, all 3 kept pressing and forcing mistakes, and Cole has started to actually keep hold of the ball and is growing in confidence. I thought long did well when he came on, and took his chance really well. He was unlucky to be brought off, but it was the only change that made sense at that point. I'd say were safe now, as 3+ wins for the bottom two over us doesn't seem likely at all, but I'll celebrate when the numbers confirm it. Its been a weird season.

Am I a genius? Tune in next week to find out.

Had Roberts lasted the 90 I would have gone for him. He ran himself into the ground and linked with Watt and Cole really well. I went for Lamie though. He was absolutely solid.
-
I think it was in reaction to hibs getting a corner that wasn't. Alexander and Polworth must be Malcolm Tucker-esqe in their swearing.

Can't fault anyone today. We were as solid in defence as I've seen us, and the front three worked really well together, with all three running themselves into the ground again. I thought mcginley was solid when he came on in a difficult situation, and handled Boyle well. The midfield three were also very good, all doing ther jobs and winning a majority of 2nd balls. Crawford keeps improving. Lawless and dec added the experience we needed to get through the last 20 mins. It makes a big difference having decent players on the bench. Mathematically were still in the dogfight, so no time for letting up, but if we keep up that level of fight, we will be safe. A far cry from the situation last week after those two abject performances, a great reaction from pretty much the same XI.
-
It's been a good half from us. Hibs are a big threat on the break, but so far we've handled it ok and our front 3 are all holding the ball up pretty well. A bit more composure and we could have maybe been 2 up. Their defence is pretty shaky. Doidge looked reckless there with the challenge on Carroll, hopefully hes ok and the sub was just a precaution.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same XI as wednesday. Mainly because there isn't anyone ready to come back in. I don't expect much from Easter road at the best of times, and we will be up against it, but we could scrape something from this game if we build on the solid work from midweek. It would be nice if we could score.

A lot of the comments on his attitude aren’t based on much other than he looks grumpy all the time. For some players injuries and dips in form are accepted, but for others there has to be more to it. He’s shown he can finish when he’s played through the middle, and he puts in plenty of work when out on the wing. Plenty of us were happy to see him come back this season, but he hasn’t done so well this time around. He is better through the middle, so I’d prefer if we used him there either from the start or as a sub, and use real wingers on the wings.
