  1. But if Murphy did pay people to lick his arsehole and then he signed for us it would be amateur hour stuff by Motherwell. I can’t believe they would do that. The silence from the club on this is deafening.
  2. A fit Murphy would be a great signing and would fit in to our system really well, but unless he’s fit and ready to go after the break it would be as pointless a signing as McCormack last year. We’d as well just bring Higdon and Coyne back if the warm and fuzzies are all we’re after.
  3. We’re 4th after 18 games, including playing the ugly sisters twice each, and they are the only teams that have scored more than us, that’s how good we are. We were poor today, and I have a feeling that Rangers only played as well as they needed to, and could have stepped up if required. Saying that, long and cole had good opportunities to score that really should have been put away, so it was hardly a drubbing. Hylton could have just sat down in the centre circle for 70 mins and had the same impact. That’s the deal with wingers though. Campbell is really improving on the ball and growing as a player, it’s great to watch. This was the first time I’ve saw Kent and I don’t see what the fuss is about. Morelos will never leave rangers because he’d be found out somewhere else.
  4. We’ve been really sloppy, and are lucky to be still in the game. Seems half the team just want to get the game out the way.
  5. What’s the shithousiest team we can put out?
  6. Hearts had a couple of half chances, we were deserved winners.
  7. Berra really does piss his pants at every decision, was fun watching him get wound up at the end. That red card was funny as well. Good set up and finish for the goal, but I’m going to give moment of the match to Donnelly for his cynical challenge in the last 10, and Grimmy man of the match for his Hammell-esque drawing out of throw ins.
  8. The manager hinted at changing things up on Wednesday. I’m going to guess that a couple out of seedorf, Scott and mugabi might start. Maybe Tait. Cant think of anyone else who’s knocking on the door for a start. Campbell could possibly be in line for a rest,

    The Longer Listen

Maybe he’s trying to follow the burrows path to employment :-) Are there any other podcasts by our fans? Player/manager interviews are fine, but I like the speculation, banter, and talking about who’s shite aspects of a fan podcast.
  10. He was injured and now he can’t force his way into the team.
  11. Robinson mentioned that there was an illness going through the squad, so that might explain some things. Polwarth is going to be our leader in assists by a crazy margin come the end of the season, and probably right up there with the highest in the league, he’s a good player.
  12. St J had some good play without making more than a couple of half chances. We did well to stay patient before the first goal when they were pressing us and hoping to hit on the counter. It took a bit of skill from hylton and an excellent cross to cole to break the deadlock, and that pretty much sealed the result as it scuppered their game plan. Polworth put in some excellent deliveries today for some well worked corners, and we looked dangerous at every one, including the two goals. and the save in the first half. We got complacent for a while at 2-0, with scott making some bad decisions in defense, but we recovered well and he put in an excellent ball to O’Hara for the 4th. St johnstone could be in danger since they have that “too good to go down” air about them.
  13. I like the theory that Celtic faked a medical report and forced Turnbull to somehow persuade a surgeon to fuck about with his perfectly fine knee to an extent where he can’t play football for 6+ months. That would have been some consultation.
  14. Grimshaw will one day score for us and it will be glorious, and most likely the 1 in a 4-1.
  15. Pretty sure the club said it would be about 6 months at the time.
  16. Allan must be in his late-ish 20s and has played about 2 full seasons, one of which was in the championship. Is he injured a lot or just not as good as folk make him out to be?
  17. One of those games where Celtic were happy to play within themselves and do just enough to get the win. We never really threatened bar a few half chances, and there was always the threat of Celtic going up the gears if they needed to. Thought cole and Polworth were decent, and maguire filled in well. The og was a shame, Tait needed to get a touch cos there was a guy at the back post waiting for a tap in. Gallagher’s last ditch tackle in the first half was class, and I thought he and Mugabi were solid enough.
  18. Thinking of this from Robinson’s perspective, I don’t think there is a better time to leave than now. His stock couldn’t be higher, and he’ll know fine well how quickly that can change, especially at a club like ours. The fact that his dream job has come up adds to that. He’d be crazy not to take the NI job if he was offered it. As for our next manager, it’s Lasley and you know it.
  19. Replacing the main stand somehow would be my preferred option, but the reality is that in the market we work in we’re handicapping ourselves with the growing costs of keeping fir park going. The ravenscraig area seems like the only feasible option, which would be shite. Maybe we can do the training facilities bit first and talk about the stadium another time.
  20. Good to see forum handbags are still a thing in 2019.
  21. Thought we had a really good chance to nick it when Cole played long through just before they scored, should have done better. As expected we were under pressure and couldn’t get out for most of the game, but we defended pretty well. Bevis looked solid and Hartley is better in a three. I’m not sure why we argued about the penalty, but that seemed to be the only thing close to controversy in the game. Thought cole played really well, and linked well with long at times. It will be interesting to see if today’s setup was a one off, as I’d like to se how we’d do with a front two.
  22. Lasley gave an update on him on last weeks mfc podcast. Niggling injuries and the form of other players has kept him out.
  23. The Scott goal gets better every time i see it, he made that finish look easy. Overall I’ve been impressed since he moved out to the wing, he is very comfortable on the ball and he links up well. Seedorf’s final ball may not be perfect, but he’s scored some crackers this year and is no doubt being encouraged to shoot. There’s also the run he made to the byline in the first half where he breezed past two players, maybe he could have squared it to cole, but he scored a goal from there in the cup and it took a good save to stop him. I’d rather have him in the side creating those moments than keeping him out until he’s perfect. He’s going to improve with experience. Hylton isn’t much different, but I think it would be harsh to bench Seedorf for another unpredictable winger. I see cole getting some stick on Facebook (surprise) and I’m not sure why he’s being singled out. He’s doing a good job of holding the ball up, has good movement, and was denied by a good block from the keeper. There were also two or three occasions where he was free to be played in and the player chose to shoot instead. It’s disappointing that there’s always the need to pick the worst out of a good run/performance.
  24. I thought we had quite a few shots from distance, including Scott’s goal and 2 or 3 saved efforts from Polworth. We’ve scored some crackers this season already, and I’m sure there’s more to come.
