There's a week off between the st j and rangers games, that's what I was thinking of, followed by 3 games in a week. If nothing else, if we can negotiate the st Johnstone game, we have a couple of weeks to get injuries sorted and get acquainted to the new manager.

Having games against Partick, ict, and accies pre-split, with the latter two at home gives us a great chance to ensure our own safety early. Is there a break in between these fixtures? Dundee have the worst of the fixtures, and I think Partick will sneak 6th, although a win for us this week could make it interesting. Getting at least a point though would take the pressure off a little for the trip to ibrox, where a result isn't totally out of the question.

I think that for the job of trying to keep us up, Robinson is probably the best fit. He has organized us a little better, and has the backing of the players. Bringing in someone with new ideas, and who wants to make a name for themselves, at this stage of the season could backfire if they are unable to get the players on board. I'm not sure that Robinson is the best fit for the annual rebuilding job though, but I don't know who is. I assume simo probably won't apply for a third time.

It's also possible that we never considered Presley, and he just ruled himself out so that people know he's around and we didn't knock him back. Or the sun just made it up.

if Lennon is what we're looking at, then I'd rather just keep Robinson. He didn't do a particularly good job at Alloa. As for Presley, I'm happy that I now know it won't be him.

Burley has come up the last couple of times, but seems to be off the radar this time around for some reason. I'd like him here, he'd fit the "craig brown type" profile. Mixu is still kicking about too, and I think we agreed last time that he'd be shite.

So for speculation's sake, we can probably discount anyone who is employed, so let's drop Duffy and Hughes. This would also cover previous popular applicants like nijholt and vdg. Alex Neil would be great, but there's no way he would take a job just a couple of days after being fired. Then we know coyle, Davies and mcculloch haven't applied. Assuming our short list is of applicants, and not a wish list: Robinson has definitely applied, and valakari apparently flew to Scotland last week, and he did apply last time so we can be pretty sure he's one of the short list. This leaves names like butcher, Presley, Lomas, who will all know what the job involves and be in our price range. Then outsiders like dickov and freedman. So I'm now sure that it will be Robinson.

I figured since interviews are on Monday that some of the runners would be at the game today, but nothing has been mentioned.

Before the game most of us were happy to just not take a doing, but ffs, to switch off at the last minute is criminal.

We're capable of shipping 5 goals in a half. Let's hope we didn't just switch halves

Has there been any talk of finding ways to entice fans in other countries to join, maybe in the form of a campaign specifically targeting them? pulling on the heartstrings with some nostalgia or stuff like "you're not here but you can help", or "you don't have to watch this, but we do, so give us money". Is this an effort that could be an opportunity for an exile member to have something to do? I don't know the size of our international fan base, but if there are two of us in memphis then there must be loads in cities and countries that are nice.

I guess we'll see what Robinson thinks of some of the youth/fringe players now! At the moment the only definite absence is tait, and I assume Hammel will play since Robinson didn't mention him. Was McMillan not right back when we got horsed up there last time? Will he push the injured guys to try and play? Or does he think McGuire or Ferguson can do a job? Does he stick Campbell at right back, for him to perform well and get the Hateley treatment? Does he shoe horn Hammel or chalmers at RB? Stick clay there? Plenty of questions, including how long will I be able to last with the mixlr commentary, but I think the result is pretty much guaranteed now.

Robinson has the the advantage as can probably secure the job if he gets a more respectable result than 7-2. So he should park the bus and keep it to 4 or 5.

One problem baraclough may have had is that there was a group of experienced players that could undermine new ideas. With lasley, hammell, McFadden, Pearson and McDonald all leaving in the summer it is a good opportunity for new ideas. Unfortunately we need to make sure we're still in the premier league before this happens.

I want Mark McGheelle to get the job.
