According to the man himself he signed in '81 and left in 1992 (he was frozen out for almost a year but still with the club)

From Scott Mullen (herald) on Twitter - "Motherwell update for fans. Club are getting closer to re-signing three players out of contract. Expecting to seal deals next week" Then goes on to say it is a mix of u20s and senior. I am sure hammel and lasley will be two of them.

Is not the new Celtic manager. Phew.

He was no better than we had at the time, and no better than we have now. He's decent and I hope he does well, but just like lawless I wouldn't consider him as "one that got away". On this subject, who have we released as a youngster who has legitimately went on to bigger things?
-
Did they need to fill a specific amount of space and thus chose a top 12? I would have come up with a smaller number in a list of goalkeepers in Scotland who's names I know.

When your career can be over in your thirties, you make what you can. Loyalty works two ways, would a club keep a player when they turn out to be shite? Also, ambition is about more than just money.

We can quantify the benefits of finishing 4th (approx $200k) but do we have any evidence that "blooding" youngsters over a handful of end of season games does anything? If a player isn't ready, will giving him games at a much higher level magically make him better? In addition to this, are we assuming that the players who got us to 4th are happy to step aside to give the boys a game and forego any bonuses they will get for winning any of the next 5 games? Cadden, Hall and Kennedy (do we count Laing?) all got into the team by working for it and earning it. They have all said that they were told by the manager what they needed to do to improve, and they did it and got their reward. There is also the benefits of being talked through the game by the old heads, so we need to keep a balance.

Really worrying that he's scored almost 40 goals and no one from any team has chosen to mark him yet. Hopefully no one marks our strikers, or we will be fucked.
-
Think it's more to do with him being out sick for a game in which kennedy did well, and as such kennedy has kept his place.

Alan Campbell signs 3-year extension http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2016/03/30/campbell-signs-extended-deal/

Problem is he probably didn't think that "safe" would turn into a decent chance of fourth place! My guess is that the experiments will take a back seat now, as the difference in income from a top six to a bottom six finish could cover a couple of new players next year, or contract extensions.

Their communication hasn't been great, but I dont think last week is a good gauge as to their response time as I'm sure they would have received a fair bit of traffic due to the announcement. As far as I'm aware they only have one admin, and the other office bearers are voluntary (and as such probably have other jobs) so we're kind of getting what we pay for at the moment. My criticisms of the society are more to do with the fact that the questions most people have today are the same ones they had 3 years ago, and we're set for our third relaunch. I also don't like the angle of "it's up to you to save your club" when most of us were under the impression that we were doing that by spending 20+ quid to watch a game every other week, or 60 or so for a shirt that we are probably only going to wear when going to said games. I'm more on the side of "it's up to he club to spend our money wisely".

I mind back in the late 90s on two occasions Aberdeen had a guy sent off after just coming on, think Nigel pepper was one of them. Dont know what Robson was thinking there.

Leitch, gomis and Kennedy in for hall, lasley and Pearson
-
The good thing is we have sometthing to blame for a loss that might have happened anyway. I predict another youngster will step to the fore tomorrow and join cadds and hall in playing the remainder of our games this year. But we'll draw.
-
I'm guessing most clubs in Scotland operate this way, with only a few subsidized by an owner. Until Boyle rocked up to fir park, I'm sure that's what we did too.
-
It's the other way round, to break even they need to spend no more than what they take in. It seems that our problems tend to be more to do with cash flow at certain times of year. There are a number of big contracts expiring this year, which is a good opportunity to restructure our playing budget. We should be spending like a club that has 3000 regular home fans, and if that means we end up a championship team or lower then so be it. Unless someone wants to pour money into the club for the sake of it, this is reality. The well society is supposed to raise funds to provide a buffer for when the need arises, but the club also has a responsibility to budget properly.

Maybe a chance to see another youth prospect in the first team? Or possibly law in the center again. If McDonald is out I can see either Thomas or McFadden take that spot alongside moult and Marvin, I'd guess Thomas. The pressure is on Aberdeen here, we're all but safe and they absolutely need to win.

It's hard to tell when they all wear the same colour shorts. Wasn't even the foul that I meant to post, and can't find it now. This one is a red 9 times out of 10.

The move for the second goal was really nice, about ten passes starting from our right back position. Johnson had one of his better games, and it's great seeing the energy from Cadden an moult. Oh, and here is Paton taking cadds to suplex city https://vine.co/v/iHFIHA9WIVP/embed

Going by the Twitter commentary he's a forward.

Dom Thomas set up all three goals today in the semi.

He had a good game that one time
