  1. Is it not the case that in the not toooo distant past Belgium had a bit of a crisis, completely binned everything they were doing from Schoolboy level all the way up and did all kinds of revolutionary shit. Clearly I'm a bit short on the technical details here but I'm pretty certain something along these lines happened and what they have now is the reaped rewards of the change in approach. Or I got cunted too much too often in my 20s, that's possible too. Certainly with a population just over double ours they're exactly the kind of country we should be looking to emulate. Cheeky wee all expenses paid trip for someone at the absolute least.
  2. I heard the skippy interview. The general chat was he has a few offers but we'll have been good to him and there's a decent chance he'll sign back up for us. Most of them are abroad. He also said he feels he has unfinished business down south though and he's talking to some people there too. Reading between the lines, if he gets a decent offer at a decent level in England he'll take it. If that doesn't happen we are in with a good shout
  3. Who is most likely to lose games against morton, livi, dungfermline etc...The OF or Motherwell. They would trounce these teams while we would slip up against them. It's a myth that 4x playing is maintaining the gap. It's their 50k+ attendances thats the cause
  4. I doubt voting on financial matters will go as far as 8-4. It'll be 9-3 at an absolute push
  5. There's hardly any money for the spl clubs to share. No way are we going to see any restructuring in the near future. Everyone is going to grab every penny they can get and that doesn't involve increasing the chance of relegayion or splitting the pennies between more teams. That ship has sailed now
  6. How many games are shown in these leagues? Would we be happy with Friday Saturday Sunday Monday every week?
  7. TV rights are only worth what someone will pay for them. I don't think anyone has been deliberately getting us a poor deal. In most other countries is it not the case their national broadcaster pays a fortune for the rights?
  8. Is it not the case that TV money is our largest income stream? If we didn't spend that what else would we spend?
  9. http://www.blackandwhitearmy.com/off-the-park-news-archive/1811-report-from-fans-meeting Report from St mirren meeting last night. Grim reading to say the least
  10. Hence why they have built the ability to renegotiate into the contract. They offer a lot of money because the of are in the league. Without them there's less value. They were the only offer on the table and the spl bit their hands off.
  11. Rangers have about a dozen players. How could they agree to an embargo
  12. I ended up having to Google it the other day - def not visible enough on the site
  13. If we get relegated our best players get printed and relegation clauses kick in. We've basically had 2 months notice that a big chunk of value is getting chopped from the league that couldn't have been predicted 1 or 2 seasons ago when we were sensibly budgeting using apparently guaranteed income. That's not to say we wouldn't be in bother if we went down
  14. Other clubs will fear administration but didn't need to say so publicly as they weren't letting their fans make an informed choice
  15. Nor.can my phone refresh pages seemingly. Old news
  16. Dundee utd voting no. Can't link on phone
  17. This is going to.end up.an 11-1 vote if anyone else declares early.
  18. What benefit is there to finishing 8th over 10th if the money is split equally. Finishing higher up the table in a competition should mean more prize money. The TV money is the prize money
  19. Fair enough let's just wait and see. The problem with this whole situation is that people are so desperate for Rangers to be heavily punished that they optimisitically think the financial ramifications on the smaller clubs won't be too bad, or grasp at hopeful speculation like 500 new fans per game and all will be well...well we'll be able to change the voting rights = ££££ etc. It's far from certain that any of the hopeful speculation will come to pass (voting rights aside), and more than likely (imo) that there will be considerable financial pain if they're (rightly) got tae. In the short to medium term, if we get what we want, we're going to be seeing poorer players in a smaller squad playing worse football for less prize-money - hardly the kind of fare that's going to be bringing lapsed fans back in their droves. Considering we've just had our budget fucked by 4k a week when Rangers are actually in the league, and we've done relatively well last season, I think we can safely say there's going to be quite a lot of pain we'll have to go through to if they're pumped out, especially if we're fucked out the cups early and bottom 6 - I think we all know as well fans that we go through peaks and troughs. This is one of the all time peaks yet we're making cutbacks because we didn't accept 200k for what should be one of our most saleable assets. There's not enough realism about this issue, and I say that as someone who emailed the club to remind them of their obligations in terms of fan ownership when considering how they would vote on a newco vote.
  20. Maybe aye. What is certain tho is a negotiated down TV deal and a lower sponsorship deal with one of the two most popular teams out the league. Maybe this could be clawed back by fans regaining interest or managing to change the financial spread by a change of voting rights, but it would be financial suicide to count on this therefore slashed budgets in the short to medium term.
  21. Better in terms of enjoyment. Worse in terms of budget
  22. Big tax case is def in the CVA - that's one of the reasons why there's so many TBCs. Also, they are factoring in the legal action against Whyte's lawyers among others as being part of a potential payout.
