  1. What does that make me?? I came to the realisation last week, that for the first time ever in my life every Motherwell player who pulled on a jersey this season was younger than me. Now I know this applies to a few fans. But it's the first time for me. And it's quite depressing really...

Tell me about it. Not quite there yet, but a couple of years back when I was 29 when I suddenly realised I was never going to play for Motherwell

    :D

  2. If McGhee doesn't go to either Aberdeen or Celtic I'll eat my own bollocks.

And fair play to him btw, he's both a Celtic and Aberdeen man, and they would be his top two teams-I-would-like-to-manage in Scotland.

Hopefully it'll happen sooner rather than later and we can actually prepare for the start of a new season this time.

  3. And there are quite a few who've got over 40-odd years service with the club some even started as ball-boys within the club :D

Auld Jack and Jimmy really deserve more for the club for their length of service other than one games hospitality.

Is that Jimmy Simpson you are talking about? Is he still going?

  4. On a related note, a trailer on Real Radio tonight at work is one of the wind ups for next week, he phones up someone in Motherwell pretending to be from the club and wants to use their back green for the pitch.

    Oh joys.

    My. Sides.

  5. He was probably there standing somewhere behind her.

In very much the same way that you never see Michelle McManus and sunlight at the same time.

Yeah, it's a little known fact that he is actually perpetually in orbit around McManus due to the power of her gravitational pull.

  6. Only managed to catch the second half on telly, so probably shouldn't be voting, but I thought Reynolds played very well in the 45 I caught - not one bombscare moment that I can think of.

Just shades Quinn for me, did you see his face when he scored? c**t loves playing for motherwell

  7. And if you do shout and ball at a 17 year old player, at least admit its because you can't accept what country he is from.

It annoys me the focus that is put on him being "a wean", "a wee boy", "an 18 year old" etc.

If he's old enough to play professional football, and he's old enough to decide which country he will represent for the rest of his career, he's old enough to take pelters from opposing fans for it.

If the focus is going to be on him being a "wee laddie", maybe he should turn out for the under 19s where there won't be crowds to, rightly IMO, get stuck into him.

    EDIT:

I also think if it was Australia rather than Ireland they chose, their would be little or probably no criticisim.

Oh ok, well I think there would. What point are you trying to make?

  8. What country was after giving Ged Brannan his cap??? Was it the Cayman Islands or something like that  , he wasn't booed for that was he? ;)

No, he was playing for Motherwell. Is that really so difficult to understand?

We all knew McDonald was a diver when he played for us. We didn't boo him for it. But now when he does it for Celtic he's rightly called a dirty little c**t, and if he did it against us we'd be booing the fatty all the way back to Glasgow.

Pulling up football fans for being hypocritical is a bit of a silly exercise. It's in the nature of fans to look after their own and hound the opposition - especially if there's a ready made reason to hound them.

  9. 1/ In what way are the club cheating? We have an undersoil heating system but unfortunately a section of it failed but we have one !

2/ How can the fact that we have a system failure be deemed unfair on the other SPL teams and unsporting? Kilmarnock have a system and theirs wasn't switched on resulting in a postponement the same day!!!

3/ Why should we be docked points or indeed relegated ( although the SPL is a seperate entity from the SFL,so technically relegation is not really an option) for a system failure?? I accept the point could be raised if we didn't have a system or never switched it on but to copy the ranting of P&B just because a section of our WORKING system failed is indeed plain silly.

Last seasons debacle came about because of incessant rainfall resulting in a heavily waterlogged pitch and therefore causing postponements but, now here's the irony, If we didn't have the USH system in place and working ,then the clay subsoil wouldn't have been baked solid allowing for natural drainage to take place and there would have been no postponements and the pitch would have been in better nick!!!

    That's just arguing semantics though.

Fact is, we know something is amiss regarding the USH, the club have failed to make any kind of statement or interview about it, which in a lot of people's eyes - including mine - means they know fine well the current situation is out of order.

We know the ins and outs of the pitch getting baked solid, but frankly that's not an excuse - it is our responsibility to ensure we have working USH, and we don't.

Let's not forget the verging-on-silky soccer we try to play, and how that is virtually impossible on the current surface. To salvage any integrity - not to mention top six aspirations - we might yet have, we need to get this situation fixed STAT. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it will be any time this season, which could well cost us a place or two in the league.

Bite the bullet, fix it, and let's move on.
