I agree with your point about Stoke,I warmed to them last season as well but surely there should be room for all styles of play. A big part of Stoke's attraction was watching them encounter the likes of Arsenal at home and the resultant contrast of philosophies.

I'd much rather watch Motherwell than anybody else. Regardless of the score, performance, entertainment "value" etc. I still like watching Champions League and World Cup football. I don't find the two mutually exclusive.

£240 is still far too much for an SPL season ticket in my view. It is simply not value for money. I feel one of the problems is that the game in Scotland frequently gets compared to England and the ticket prices are set accordingly. The example of Denmark given above is much more instructive. I rarely venture to away games as I think 20 plus notes is a rip-off. Never thought I'd pick and choose away games but there you go. Once the habit is broken and all that...

Motherwell Vs Kilmarnock-score Predictions,team Line-up
Bill Bones replied to dazamfc's topic in Club Chat
First goal will be crucial on Saturday, just like it usually is in an SPL game. Interesting to see if Craigan and Sutton start;I expect they will. Who plays at right-back is another conundrum for Gannon to ponder Kilmarnock will have taken a lot of confidence from their opening day win but if we defend properly I can see us sneaking it. -
Even Ian Ross?

My sentiments exactly. Were the highlights on $ky longer than the ones appearing on the BBC website?

I'll agree with you. A positive support can make a difference. Let's hope it continues....

Referee For Saturdays Game Against Kilmarnock

Fascinating link. We've never lost a game when he's been in charge. No surprise that Klimpl was the only 'Well player he booked last season. -
St Johnstone Match Thread - The Dawning Of A New Era!

Can only second that. Some very valid points from Eddiesteelman there. I'm not confident about tomorrow or indeed the season as a whole. A good start will hopefully calm the nerves. -
Really? The Philliben line was a cracker.

I think we had our tongues firmly in our cheeks as regards the 'boo-boy odds' No idea about any names as regarding potential signigs. I expect they'll appear out of the blue as it were, like the previous transfer dealings. I feel, probably like most, that a right back and striker are a must.

Stevie Hammell does'nt seem so popular thses days. He can't defend don't you know. I ofeer him at 10-1 but I haven't a fuckin' clue(odds and fitba).

I doubt any bother their arse. Most pro players,I imagine, quickly realise the fickle nature of fandom. One minute fans sing their name, the next they're a pantomine villain,or worse. Pro football is a closed shop, that's why pundits are uniformly ex-players and managers too. In short,I imagine they only actually care what other "football" people say/think. Fans are the bottom of the pile. Or were you wanting posters to reveal thier true identities?

Did he not come on against the Accies late last season? Certain he did. Won't be too hard to verify. Do newspapers not employ subs anymore?
-
I doubt they've seen us play since we last featured against the old firm. Probably looked at the players leaving and the fact we lost to Llanneli and Flamurtari away before a 6-1 loss to Steaua. The season preview in the Hearld was rubbish anyway, sorry no link. It was full of basic errors so I don't think their view carries any more weight than say Pie and Bovril.

That's the spirit!

The boy from Bonkle. Always made me snigger. .

Has this been confirmed? Anyway I quite liked Darren Smith, seemed to score quite a few goals in his rather limited playing time. Not without his flaws though and Gannon will pick his own men, normal for a new manager. I'm sure he'll get fixed up somewhere. Fitzy, for me, was never more than a squad player but had some good games last season. Forbes shows more passing ability and with Jennings looking like a workhorse type and now Reynolds(belatedly) been considered for the same position it's not much of a surprise. Still,we'll always have Easter Road Marc. Good luck lads!

Ah. I'd clean forgotten about that chap! We can but hope he returns.

Any new refs this year? I think Stuart Dougal has retired. probably a few more but I can't find much info about it. the list for opening day has some reasonably unfamilar names.

I'll take staying away from any relegation worries, with the youngsters progressing and Gannon getting used to the SPL. We still have a very thin squad, yes I know others are in the same boat, and the inevitable injuries and suspensions could cause serious problems. Although Gannon already seems willingl to add versatility to our squad what with Reynolds deployed in midfield and O'Brien at right back. 1. Celtic 2.Rangers 3.Hearts-some decent signings and have kept hold of Driver. As long as Romanov stays in the background and they avoid administration they'll finish third pretty esaily I think. 4.Dundee Utd-solid side. Might struggle to replace Zaluska but still have enough to challenge for Europe. 5.Hibernian-some poor signings but if Nish and especially Riordan screw the nut they'll be dangerous. 6.Kilmarnock-if they avoid injuries Jeffries will do well again which is shame. 7.Aberdeen-have some useful players and Mcghee is still a competent manager. 8.Motherwell-transitional season. 9.StMirren-quite impressed with their signings. Won't entertain but will avoid the drop 10.St.Johnstone-McInnes seems to have a good rep but he's probably pals with a few journos. Promoted sides usually do ok if they keep the same group so the farmers should be ok. 11.Hamilton-Have lost a lot of players. Will surely struggle. 12.Falkirk-same as Hamilton. Already backroom infighting. Alex Smith will seal their fate.

The season post administration was one of my favourite, despite the league placing. As MJC mentioned we fans were almost universally excellent that season. The home wins against Celtic,Rangers and Hearts were incredible. The cup run was brilliant too. Kilmarnock away with Clarkson winning a penalty that James stuck away in front of the 'Welll fans; McFadden's taking Clyde to the cleaners at a freezing Broadwood; 4-0 at Stanraer, being able to stand and the performance against the h**s.

I wouldn't be so sure... But i take your point.

Slane hasn't played an SPL game -Yes he has. The standard of journalism in Scotland is appalling. Just finished reading the Sunday Herald's piss-poor saeson preview and it's littered with mistakes too,not to mention rudimentary printing errors. No wonder newspapers are all going bust. c***s the lot of them.
