  1. The BBC Alba cameras will be there.
  2. A late arrival to this thread so most memorable goal celebrations have already been covered. A Joe McLaughlin own goal at Brockville after we hadn't notched for about 2 months was well received. More relief than anything else.

    Hearts

Saunders,Reynolds and Hutchinson were all fine but since Hearts posed so little threat I'll have me some Coke please. Still has the occasional moment when his casual approach infuriates but I thought he had an excellent game today.
  4. A bit of a change in appraoch today as we played in a far more direct manner. It seemed to work well with both Sutton and Jutkiewicz involved in some reasonable stuff. Good to see Coke having a better game as his dip in form was becoming a worry. Hateley was his usual understated self but he's such an unassuming, effective player. Reynolds,Saunders and Hutch were all excellent and helped restrict the Jambos to pretty much one shot-the effort late in the second half after a Driver pullback. I thought we were comfortable against the ten men and if anything looked the more dangerous. Not sure where the "nervous last ten minutes" chat is coming from. There was one stramash but apart from that Hearts looked to given up. So, another win,a clean sheet to boot and a good all-round display. For me,only Yass and Forbes weren't quite at the races, and even then both would still receive pass marks. Finally, it's always sweet to beat Hearts but how bad were they?
  5. I'm on tenterhooks awaiting the latest prediction from the sage-like Billy Dodds. Will he last predict a 'Well victory or will he continue with his bitter vendetta against our great club?
  6. Another tough game. A return to a back four is surely a must. What about the midfiled and attack though? I'd be fair tempted to try a 4-4-2 with Humphrey and O'Brien out wide and have a real go. A bit more attacking threat and try to play the match in Hearts' half of the pitch. Although a return to the 4-2-3-1 and a safety first approach also has merits. Stick Hateley and A.N Other in midfield, keep it tight and attempt to conjure a goal from somewhere(set-pieces the most likely). I'll sit on the fence and predict a 0-0.
  7. Murphy is a striker. The sooner our fans and more importantly our manager realise this the better.
  8. Aye, he came back for a second spell. Says it all that you can't remember, he was dire.
  9. Why? Players should be picked based on performance not age/expierence. Otto Rehhage was keen on stating that they were no young or old players, just good and bad ones.
  10. A 3-2 thriller against Dundee Utd in October 1989- 20 years ago this month. Davie Cooper scored a penalty but don't recall much else.
  11. Nacho Novo. Not from the past but still.
  12. Was it not a game against Hearts that got abandonned after the pitch was waterlogged? Think we were winning 1-0 through a Teale penalty. Missed the 6-5 game,I'd just started uni and gave it a miss. Couldn't beleive when I heard the score.
  13. Phone the club up. They can post tickets out to you. Details on official site It's not 50 miles from Dalry to Motherwell,is it?

    John Ruddy

There's no way we'll pay £250,000 for Ruddy. I'd be delighted if he stayed until the end of the season,he's a good 'keeper. I can't help feel though that he's helped by the fact he actually looks like a GK. Tall and broad, shouts at the defence in a loud voice etc. Image plays a huge part in how players are perceived. As Gazzy B states he's not as error free as some would have you believe.
  15. Many thanks for this. Ruud Geels up-front I see. Fantastic goalscoring record but I think he fell out with Cruijff so was rarely picked for the national side. Hulshoff won 3 straight European Cups and only missed the 1974 WC through injury.
  16. Agree with this 100%. Talks of bloodlines etc. reeks of fascism. Liam Fox is a Tory politician, stick him on the right-wing-I'm sure he's Scottish. DC'd will have the Lee Wallace brigade on his back soon.
  17. Sounds like the friendly against Atheltic Bilbao. I'll look out the programme I have. The game was in 1960 I think so just too late for Telmo Zarra to have fetaured.
  18. Hmm. He was born in 1989 so was only 6 when his old man stopped playing in Scotland, first time around.
  19. Neeskens joined Michels and Cruyff at Barcelona in 1974 so didn't play in the Ajax team that played at Fir Park. Rep was also absent having joined Valencia after Ajax's failure to retain the European cup in 1975. His other claim to fame was his almost single-handed role in leading Corsican Mafia-backed side Bastia to the UEFA Cup Final in 1978. As regards "Top 20 hits",Gazza may have a shout with his lamentable "Fog On The Tyne".
  20. I didn't dare type that. .
