  1. Got mine early last week.
  2. It looks to be the same scenario as the past few years. Clubs wait until later in the summer to avoid paying wages in June. With the uncertainty over who will be in charge and the fact that Setanta may or may not pay up the full sum, which has presumably been budgeted for, then it is easy to see why we haven't signed 5/6 players. As ohers have said the other SPL clubs aren't exactly awash with fresh, exciting signings either. The worry for us is that we have a game in under 4 weeks.
  3. Of Celtic's total income only 3% comes from the Setanta money. Meanwhile for the likes of St.Mirren and ourselves the TV cash amounts to around a quarter of our total turnover. But as you say I expect somebody somewhere will pay to screen the bigots and we will get a slice.
  4. Aye. He's being lined up as the new Monaco boss. Seemed to do relatively well in Belgium. Monte Carlo or Motherwell-a tough one. Don't really have any strong opinions on who we get as the new manager, someone with a hint of expierence would be nice though.
  5. Seriously? I honestly thought the left back looked a total bombscare at Fir Park a few weeks back. His second touch was usually a sliding challenge. No wonder Hibs punted him sharpish.
  6. Indeed it is. Scored a cracker against Torino in the Uefa Cup once upon a time. Eric Black seems to be the popular choive amongst their support.
  7. Hammell looked to be carrying an injury for most of the second half and signalled a few times to the bench that he was struggling. He was out on his feet for the last 10 mins or so. Don't think we can do much better than McLean-decent player who may improve

    Well Worth It!

I have had the same problem all week so have returned form by post.
  9. How do you renew online? I have entered my on-line username and password ok but when I click on the renew season ticket option on the right hand side nothing happens. Any help much appreciated. Cheers.
  10. It does feel that a window of oppurtunity has passed as by and may now be followed by a season or two of transition. The game on Saturday seemed to sum up our season. Plenty of pressure and a lot of the ball but far too often we fail to work the opposition goalkeeper enough. As regads next season I don't see the need to be overly pessimistis as the other clubs will lose players too. We only just fell short in a number of games so even a marginal or indeed no improvement at all may be good enough next season.
  11. I bought a programme for the first time in about 5 years on Saturday and was impressed. Good work from all involved. Congrats on the awards.
  12. It shows the downside of the top six split that when clubs do not make it the season is considered a disaster by some of the more excitable supporters.
  13. The whole strategy seemed an attempt to stop the influence of Dorman. If that was so necessary it surely would have made more sense to Fitzpatrick on at left midfield. A bit baffled by the need to pick players out of position when alternatives were available and also the fact that McGhee again tries something new (not a bad thing) in such an important game.
  14. TV again. Should have thought about that myself.
  15. Does anybody know why the final home game is a 12.30 kick-off? Midweek games don't suit me so will miss Inverness game. Will probably gave all the aways a miss as well.
  16. Falkirk have something like 14/15 out of contract-pretty sure Higdon is one of them. Would be a decent addition I reckon. I reckon Klimpl would be easier to replace than Hughes. While I rate Maros I feel he has been helped by the fact that we have not had a similar style of player in some years.
  17. Anybody catch this story from a few weeks back? clicky Probably not viable without Champions League/La Liga revenue streams but a nice gesture none the less. Will probably renew my season but seriously considered not doing so for the first time since I first purchased one in 95/96. Mainly based on the continual changing of fixtures to suit TV-Saturday's game with St.Mirren being the latest example meaning I have missed a good few games this year to work commitments. The downgrading of ST's with regards to cup games and pre season friendlies also makes it less worthwhile.
  18. Decent result for us tonight. A win on Saturday should be enough to secure top six. Why are the games not being played at the same time?
  19. Go here for a pretty poor stream clicky Sutton just scored an absolute peach but 2-1 to them.

    Aberdeen

Went for O'Brien as most of our best stuff involved him. Thought McGarry looked decent until understandbly tiring. Got to agree with the other posters about Lasley-thought he had a very poor second half
  21. The most dangerous pass is the cut back from the byeline to on coming forwards
  22. Some good points raised but what would getting rid of the all the different governing bodies actaully achieve? It is a point almost always raised but the benefits have never been elaborated. the fact that top flight football from England/spain is readily available has almost certainly made the general punter less likely to follow Scottish football. For me the crux of the matter is that for 120 years Scottish football has never solved the problem of having two clubs that are massively bigger in every way to the rest. Only in the 20 years following WWII and the emergance of the New Firm in the '80's has the Old Firm hegemony been challenged. You could argue that the formation of the Premier League enabled the latter challenge but more likely both had outstanding managers. So I am not sure that league reconstruction would achieve much.
  23. I'm pretty sure I heard/read a story somewhere stating that Ben Ellis won a World Snooker title some time in the late 1930's
