I can't argue with that. Sadly, that's the way it's always going to be at Fir Park, it's just something we all have to accept. Unfortunately. it's rarely possible to keep hold of these players as their ambitions or club circumstances usually prevent it from happening but we can try.
-
I never said I'd succeed in getting him to sign a new contract but it'd be the first thing I'd try to do. If he sees his future elsewhere then so be it but he's definitely worth trying to keep a hold of.
-
Again, I can't argue with that. As much as I like Coach (and I genuinely do), Clarky's signature on a new contract would be my first priority.
-
I'm lead to believe there are at least two English clubs showing more than a passing interest in Coach. If what you say is correct (that one of the three must go) then I'd agree that we'd suffer less with the loss of Reynolds.
-
That's pretty much word-for-word what I was saying at work today. The Sheepies seem to be delighted that he's "coming home" and the Great Unwashed would baulk at him being appointed manager of the "great" Glasgow Cellik. Win-win as far as I'm concerned if both of them get fucked over.
-
Glenn Hoddle? I think it's delusional to think we could attract an ego that size to manage Motherwell. Besides that, he's a failure as a manager and a failure as a human being.
-
It's been said before but I'll say it again, the word "legend" is banded about all to easily these days and has been grossly devalued because of it. Willie Kilmarnock is a Motherwell legend in it's truest sense. Thanks for everything, Rest In Peace.

Too many Morrissey avatars (there's five at the moment I think).
-
I stand corrected. I'm mis-rememberating. Adams still gets a "NO" from me.
-
I'd say Dick Campbell got Ross County promoted, they were top of league when Adams took over in the February(?) of that season. IIRC, the league should have been won a lot earlier than it actually was won. As I've posted before, Derek Adams gets a resounding "NO" from me.
-
It's not going to happen.
-
Colin Calderwood would be run out of town without the need for money changing hands.
-
As far as I'm concerned, that cannot be allowed to happen. He either sees out his existing contract or he is allowed to move on but we simply can't afford to hand out pay rises to the management team every summer when it means we have less money for signing players.
-
Further to that, Bet365 have suspended the betting.
-
Unfortunately, they don't do them anymore.

If I buy a Wark or Pettigrew shirt from TOFFS then the club get hee-haw out of the deal. That's hardly "better for the club" and if we, as a collective, do "walk away" then the club would suffer, so your second point defeats your first point. The use of "campaigning" is a bit OTT in my opinion because I don't think any of us realistically expect to be able to buy the shirt without the logo, as appealing as that would be (in the same respect that a lot of us think the new jersey would be better with claret shorts - do we really expect the club/Canterbury to rush out and change it to suit us? No - it's only a fan's discussion on a fan's forum). I'd imagine sponsors demand that replica shirts carry their logo and base any sponsorship agreement on that. I personally think it detracts from the look of possibly the best 'Well shirt in a while. That said, I'm a traditionalist and prefer all shirts without sponsors but that's only a pipe dream these days. Unless you're a Hivee, it seems. Anyone who reads the Gamblers Admitted section of this forum would know that I'd be a hypocrite to have a moral objection to us advertising a gambling website but it's not about who the sponsor is, in my opinion, rather that shirts are ruined by a (sadly) necessary sponsor's logo. It's wishful thinking rather than a genuine complaint.
-
Ross County released him at the end of the season Mr Hat. EDIT: come to think of it, I think he only signed a deal 'til the end of last season.
-
Really? I didn't know that and I'm a bit surprised to be honest, I assumed sponsors would demand that all replica shirts carry their advertisement. It would be magic if we had the option to buy without the logo.
-
Aye, so now the neighbours are wondering why I'm sitting out the back with a cairry-oot, listening to Hitler speeches. Ich bin ein uber-mod.

I stoated over to Fir Park this afternoon because I don't have internet access at work, so my first viewing of the new top was the one in the shop window. It's a lovely jersey and I'll be wandering back over to pre-order for me and my youngest. I agree with others that it would be better with claret shorts but I'll take it a bit at a time. We've got our hoop back and that's a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned. A point that the shop are obviously aware of, since they've displayed the shirt with another one below it facing inwards to let all us moaning c***s see that it's a hoop. Now, if we could just be allowed to buy the jerseys without a sponsor's logo wasting them. We can only hope.

That's pish. Ice Rink was at the wind-up but it was harmless. Now he shows up with a new account and is insta-banned before he's even started a fishing trip. It's a carry-on, he's only having a laugh. Just my opinion, for what it's worth - it's not my site and I'm not a mod - I just think the reaction is a bit over the top.

The first one that springs to mind is Nick Cusack. I may be looking back with rose-tinted specs but I liked him. Certainly not seen much chat about him on here in the year and a half I've been registered. Cuuuuuuuuuuuusack Cuuuuuuuuuuuusack..............
-
I left him out to make sure I had enough room for everyone (max 20 options per poll) but I obviously forgot to go put him in at the end. Sorry Stretch.
-
I've just added a "No Vote" option for you.
-
I don't think we've done this yet, so who would you vote for for this season's POTY? (I think I've covered everyone with the exception of some of the young 'uns who only played a game or two, if I've missed anyone out please mention it and I'll amend the poll.) My vote goes to Davie Clarkson for his work-rate, determination and the very fact that he'd run through a brick wall for Motherwell Football Club. Oh and he bagged 14 goals too. EDIT: (MODS) Just realised this subject was included in the "Season Lowlights" thread. Please delete this if necessary.
