  1. No way will McHugh be leaving...Robinson mentioned it last night in his post match interview, that losing McHugh from the midfield is a blow.

I expect us to ship out one or maybe two central midfielders, and Louis Moult will go too. We'll bring in a replacement for Moult, an other option for defence and possibly an other striker or wide man.

  2. Agree with most of the comments I've read but I think we're overemphasing the importance of 3 individual errors. Watching the highlights several features stood out for me.

    * An out of sorts midfield that couldn't compete in the first half and couldn't shield its defence.

    * Lack of service for the striker(s) in the opening 45

    * Individual errors

    * Disorganised chaos in midfield and defence.

At two of the three goals (free kick & keeper's error apart) individual mistakes were made but the covering, marking and organisation were all sadly lacking. Players were all over the place. There was no onfield leadership. Had we been organised we would have covered for the mistakes and prevented the goals. That to me highlights how much we missed Carson and Hartley.

Stephen Robinson has a lot of thinking to do before the transfer window opens. He's got the makings of a good squad but some changes do need to be made.

We have a huge amount of options in central midfield, with very limited options at centre back and out wide

  3. Frear one side, Cadden on the other (when fit), Tanner in behind Bowman or Moults replacement, with 2 from Campbell/McHugh/Bigirimana/Grimshaw/Rose sitting in behind Tanner.

4 at the back, none of this 3 at the back ridiculousness. Dunne - Hartley - Kipre - Tait.

I didn't say it last season, or when we signed him this season, but I was never convinced by Griffiths even when he took over from Samson.

It all hinges on us getting Hartley and Carson fit as quickly as possible.

  4.

Want to seriously girn about Celtic directly generating revenue for us? Join the bandwagon to get the fuckers out the Main Stand next time they are due to come to Fir Park.

As for this point, I've been very vocal on my thoughts on the Celtic fans in the Main Stand and the Cooper Bar on Wednesday night...just have a look at the thread I started, I'd have them nowhere near it, but then again, we need the money right?

  5.

You do know the money comes from UEFA and not as a gift from Peter Lawell don't you?

Cover your eyes, stick your fingers in your ears, make lah-de-lah-de-lah noises and pretend it doesn't happen but no matter how unpalatable it might appear it happens and it happens as a direct consequence of whether it's Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen or whoever progressing in Europe.

Consider it a win win if eases your annoyance any. Celtic or any of the others get toed you've any easy opportunity to have a right good chuckle to yourself. They do well and our youth development programme benefits to the tune of a few hundred thousand.

Other teams have would have no qualms benefiting it was us by some miracle ploughing through the rounds. I have no qualms benefitting just because it's Celtic.

The very fact however that it's Celtic offers an opportunity to annoy them because going by some of the shit I've read in the last 10 days they are a bawhair from playing the "green pound" card the other arse of the cheek used to play. And I'm happy to take that opportunity to wind them up.

Ask Burrows or Leitch how they would feel about ramming that money up someone's arse.

But don't like it? The chances are it'll be gone in a season or two anyway when the current agreement with the "elite" is up and they all renegotiate with UEFA.

I don't disagree with a single word of that. It's got sweet fuck all to do with us getting a solidarity payment mind you but succintly put nonetheless.

But solidarity payments? This is win win stuff all the way.

My point is that Celtic would be in no position to 'generate revenue for us', if they didn't have a league to play in...I know exactly where the money comes from, how it is decided who gets it, how it is spent and what Burrows or Leitch would say if we never had it. Celtic need us (the collective league system), every bit as much as we need them, in fact more so.

In my opinion, its blood money, the scraps from the rich mans table, a pay-off to turn a blind eye to the uneven playing field that football is becoming at all levels. Celtic don't generate money for us, we give them a platform to continually book their place in the money-spinning Champions League, every single year.

  6. This 'Celtic generating revenue for us' gets right on my tits as well...tell you what, tell them to ram the money up their arse, and find another league that will take them.

They've had the run of the Scottish League since time began, their influence knows no bounds in the corridors of power and within the media, they have hundreds of thousands of supporters from all corners of the country driving past multiple other clubs en route and many support them in the name of religion. Fuck them, fuck everything they stand for and fuck absolutely everything the other lot stand for as well. Cunts the pair of them.

'Celtic generate revenue for us'...fuck that

  7. I was under the impression a lot of the press rarely bother sending anyone to our press conference and just gleen some lines from the online stuff we put out.

May have remembered that wrongly though? Think it was from a tweet from Alan Burrows?

I believe thats generally the case...I reckon any of our press conferences would be highly attended this week though, and even more so if we told them beforehand that there a few things we wanted to air in public

  8. As for the foul on Moult for our free-kick...yes, it could be described as 'soft', however as was discussed on Radio Scotland last night, a free-kick 30-odd yards out with 20mins to go is so far removed from a contentious penalty kick in the dying moments of a game. Celtic had ample opportunity to defend the free-kick properly, while 9times out of 10 penalties hit the back of the net....They aren't comparable situations, and if we are going down that road, there will be corner kicks, by-kicks, throw-ins that will have been given incorrectly at some point that have resulted in goals...but they aren't the same as giving a striker a free shot at goal from the penalty spot.

Celtic and their fans are muddying the waters, and we shouldn't be allowing it to happen.

That said, I'm not a fan of the statement thing at all, as others have said, leave that to the Glasgow wankers...I'd have preferred that we let it be known we were unhappy via a press conference, and allow the media to report it. Burrows, McMahon, Lasley, sitting in the press conference today telling it like it is...calling out Brown on his stuff about our fans, while his fans are wrecking our stand (again), calling out Rodgers on decisions that have gone for his team this season.

  9. This 'there was contact' pish, is baffling to me, particularly when its coming from our own supporters...there was contact between Sinclair and Kipre on Sunday but the dirty, disgusting wee tosser dived, and so did McGregor on Wednesday...yes, there was contact, but he instigated the contact and then went down.

In short, both disgusting, diving bastards, deceived referees who were happy to comply.

  10. Sorry mate, but that's just daft levels of whataboutery.

I don't give a flying fuck what "they" get up to. Two wrongs don't make a right. The Motherwell fans who were throwing things on the park or chanting the 'poor taste' songs were bang out of order and it, IMO, has absolutely no place at Fir Park.

As I've said, its not right, but it pales into insignificance considering what our 'rivals' get up to, and considering the week our Club has had I'm not surprised that a portion of our fans took it a wee bit further than they usually do.

  11. (This isnt a dig btw in case it comes over as one)

But surely if its impossible to call the ref cant give the decision.

I think half the problem is that they are using guesswork to give decisions and hoping for the best, particularly when certain teams are involved.

We also now have the situation where 'contact' is being used as a get out of jail card.

A foul still requires to be committed for a team to be penalised. Contact is irrelevant.

Totally agree...a referee must be 100% confident that a foul has been committed before he gives a penalty. All I'm saying is that I'm not sure that Video evidence would clear them all up.

  12. Our team done us proud last night on the park, they battled, they harried, they made it as difficult as possible for the team we were playing against who have almost 20 times our resources. Celtic managed to come away with a draw, aided and abetted by a complicit referee who was desperate to keep this domestic unbeaten run going.

The fans done their bit too, the atmosphere generated was brilliant at times.

In my opinion though the Club let the team down, we are at such a disadvantage playing against this lot that we should be doing everything we can to make Fir Park as intimidating as possible, not inviting their fans into the Cooper Bar, not giving them half of the main stand, ensuring that their vocal support is dispersed throughout the South Stand rather than being allowed to do whatever they want, not allowing a fucking arsehole with a celtic scarf on to do the half-time draw, and fire a microphone in his face so that he can tell us all about how great Celtic are.

I get the financial implications of not allowing Celtic fans into the Main Stand and the Cooper Bar, but I've no idea how any Motherwell fan can be comfortable with the situation.

  13. I've actually never felt as low about watching Scottish Football, I know people are saying its not corruption but everything is so heavily weighted in their favour that its difficult not to be described as something similar to corruption. Our players have put so much into the last two games, against guys who are paid almost 20 times more than them and came away with very little because of refereeing decisions.

The boys will be fucked, we have very little chance of coming away with anything.
