  1. Lots of chat today about Steven Fletcher joining us. He's just left Dundee United.
  2. Yeah, Roy Carroll in goals for Odense ran to the dugout area just as we were about to take the penalty, they also got two guys sent off later on. I think it was the penalty incident that sparked the brawl with Broon and the Odense officials, then they nearly got into a fight with fans as they hung around the middle of the POD Stand steps.
  3. What was his role at the club previously under Willie McLean, assistant manager? He nearly guided us to a fine win against Rangers at Fir Park but a goal was chalked off for offside for us late on but it was well onside and as per they went on to equalise. 2010 was enjoyable for the best part, thoroughly enjoyed a game where we beat St Johnstone 4-0 midweek when Nick Blackman tore them apart with a first half hat trick.
  4. Hearing Craig Brown has passed away.
  5. Going by the pictures posted on social media it doesn't look like Danzaki has traveled with the squad, plus that's been several interviews Kettlewell has said he was well down the pecking order followed by he will need to up his game to be considered. It'll be interesting to see how the squad looks come the close of the transfer window, I hate criticising players but if we could shift Shields, Maguire, and Mugabi that would be a great start, easier said than done though as they would likely all be looking at a reduced wage. I think with McGinley's injury issues he will be kicking about for a wee bit yet.
  6. Thumbs up on the new kit. New Strip
  7. I see Dean invested in a new hairpiece for his new club, I take it he was away to Turkey a jolly. I hope the move works out for him.
  8. There was a picture posted the other day with the players returning to training and one player has his back to the camera and is partially blocked by another player. On social media, a lot of people jumped to the conclusion that it was Harry Paton but it is actually Ewan Wilson.
  9. It's always honking patter when you don't agree with someone. You have already admitted to belittling people on here a few months ago. Like I said, over the past few weeks you have constantly been posting things "In the know" in regards to our squad budget, kit release, Well Bois and on Dean but you keep it all very vague, it's easy to take an educated guess on things. Earlier in year you fought the corner for Cornelius when it was surprisingly reported that he was linked to Preston, obviously I'm paraphrasing but I'm sure your take was that it wasn't surprising and he contributes more than given credit for (before his consistent run) but thats some come down for him in club choice. I have no doubts a number of clubs in League Two will be able of offer better wages as you do have the likes of Bradford and Wrexham but are Harrogate, a club who draw roughly 2,000 fans to home games likely to blow us out the water with an offer he couldn't refuse or is it more likely he fancied his chances to make an impact in England. Good luck to the young guy, I truly hope he does well where ever he ends up.
  10. Sorry dude but you spout some utter keech. You're calling out someone for mentioning finances and being an expert on it only for you to quickly follow it up by being in the know about Harrogate's playing budget. Are you Dean Cornelius da by any chance as you haven't taken any criticism of him well on here or on P&B over the past few weeks.
  11. Scratch that someone has created a ton of fake Daily Record Sports accounts on Twitter. I like that platform for the legit reporters and club news but conversely full of fuds with fake profiles.
  12. The Daily Ranger reporting that we are interested in signings Dipo Akinyemi from Ayr United, Dundee also in the mix. A Premiership club was interested in signing him in January but bid was declined then.
  13. Kelly is just fine, he did let his high standards slip for a bit this season. I still wake up in a cold sweat at night thinking about Stevie Woods and Craig Samson so I'll personally be enjoying the guys services until he departs.
  14. Quite a few teams seem to plump for home grown keepers to make up the 8 players required. In recent times Man United had Lee Grant, Man City have Scott Carson, even Joe Hart was winding down his career at Spurs before Celtic came calling to name a few. Good luck to Gillespie, solid enough keeper who could being playing at a decent level if he wanted too. I see Alloa Athletic have went crazy signing former 'Well players over the last 24 hours with PJ Morrison, Morgyn Neill, David Devine and Steven Hetherington signing for them.
  15. I'm happy to be corrected but I'm sure he was goalscoring for fun with Hibs in the Championship for a number of years but not so much in the Premiership.
  16. If an offer came in that the club couldn't refuse obviously he would be on his way, but you just need to look at Dundee United who lost a decent keeper at the start of the season and replaced him with someone who was absolutely bowfin and cost them some precious points.
  17. I don't think he'll even get the odd cup game unless the side suffer injuries due to having the other 3 keepers as it stands. He got a League Cup runners medal due to pure happenstance. Obviously in the Epl they can register a squad of 25 (Ages 21 and under don't count), he was turfed out of that earlier in the season to free up space. But yeah, he won't be losing much sleep being on a fair wedge at his favourite club.
  18. As a student when he was with the club he did indeed do that but after he was replaced as assistant manager he went to the old Motherwell College and became a lecturer before becoming a head of that department.
  19. If I remember correctly we did try to sign him but he was persuaded to join Killie by Ian Durrant. In 1998 we had also tried to sign a veteran John Robertson when his contract expired at Hearts. I think looking back, with the handling of Kampman getting his jotters which included a bumper payoff and for him not to speak to the press was a sign of things to come on how the club operated at the time. Some past favourites like Jim Griffin were treated shoddily then you had the likes of Rob Matthaei and David Kelly threatening or getting into fights.
  20. I always felt he was hard done to by the fans, they were on his back immediately. He played really well in a 3-2 win over Celtic, tore Hearts and St Johnstone apart in December 2000 which coincided with his best scoring spell. I remember that game at Fir Park well when he netted a double for Hibs, he scored an early free kick which hit the bar and in, then proceeded to run the length of the East Stand celebrating. Yeah we have had some amount of dross nip in and out of the club over the years, The bosman ruling was introduced a few years earlier but I think it started around Harri Kampman's time where it became common for a large portion of players to come and go. Kampman wanted a clean slate and released a ton of players at the end of 1997/98 season then he signed the likes of Holm Kraska, Kai Nyyssonen, Jered Stirling, Jan Michels, Mikko Kaven, David White and so forth. Kampman didn't last long and then Davies started to shape the squad to his liking which seen the introduction of Spencer, Brannan, Adams, Townsley, Goram, J. Davies, Harvey, Thomas, Nicholas and Bacque, he must have spent like 1.5 million plus some obscene wages. I remember Kampman also agreeing pre contract signings of a guy from the Faroe Islands who scored a late equaliser against Scotland and then Finnish international Harri Ylonen, both of whom had the contracts cancelled, I wonder if we had to pay out anything to compensate the players. I actually fancy giving Pat Nevin's book a read, it would be nice to get some insight to the admin years, I have read Kevin Twaddle book and while it's mainly discussing his gambling addiction he does cover that period and what happened. I'm pretty sure Pat Nevin tried to get John Boyle to invest another 3 million to try and get us out of the mess but Boyle wasn't for it. What is the general consensus on Boyle? He could have played a major role in our club dying but was installed as chairman again years later. According to many former players, he got the office staff to deliver the bad news about them being released immediately.
  21. Like Max Johnston, Dean enjoyed a consistent run in the starting lineup after Kettlewell took over and both of them played their part in the turn around in form. If Dean has managed to get a new club lined up then fair play to him, I know he has over 50 first team appearances but you would think getting a full season of being a regular starter under his belt would put him in good stead, same goes for Johnston, but we have been down this road before many times. Personally it's Casey and Johnston I'll be gutted about losing, I'm sure Kettlewell mentioned he had put a time limit on when players had to say yes or no but I'm struggling to remember players signing on again shortly after their contract expiring, probably Scott McDonald being the exception.
  22. Another thing, it was mentioned that Boabby Park was pushing to get some sort of material added to the Hunter Stand which will block out the pitch from the back to stop people from congregating there.
  23. Burrows had mentioned previously that the seating was getting upgraded in the POD last summer but obviously that never happened. Obviously with all the investment lately it's clear that we will be staying at Fir Park for a while yet.
  24. Still have nightmares of McMillan and Jules vs Marcus Haber in McGhees last game. I actually think that might have been Jack's last game for us as well. Seemed to do alright at Livi before moving on.
