excellent post Sir .................. I always thought it was pronounced Chlanechly
Hope you all enjoy it, and at least one pub in Thurso will be willing to show SC4 on Thursday night, or there will be big trouble from this guy in a Well top
As did I, I got the pronounciation from a girlfriend who suggested that
"As i am Scots, then there would be no problem with the CH sound as we use it too".
She also told me that North Welsh is different from South Welsh in pronounciation and word spellings
So when I used Welsh phrases I was expertly tutored
( phonetic spelling as I can't remember the Welsh spelling) .................... Royn? du garu di ( royn der gary de) cariad ................. got me everywhere as did Royt ti mor arbennig i mi ( royt? te mor arbennig ee mee )

1991 after winning the cup we opened up the next season with a trip to Kirkcaldy to play Raith Rovers in the league cup
I went and watched us getting gubbed about 4-1
Anybody else at that one ?
Aye Big Sieb's debut as well!
-
Think we need to get it into perspective, yes it was a **** performance , yes the senior players could have done more, but as i saw it the team tried to play a passing game from begining to end.
When was the last time you saw a Motherwell team not punt the ball forward when things got desperate and continued to try and play a passing game?
Hopefully this is a sign of things to come with the players we have and the players to come in.
With a bit more confidence and belief and hopefully a hard weeks training in front of them we will go through and get some needed money for the club.
I think this could be another up and down season for the Dossers but a fresh start and a changed team is long overdue IMHO, Up The Well.
Now which is it? some say it was a shite performance but you give it four stars

11 Full Time Players v 11 Part Time Players. Should have won regardless of circumstances.
If you are going to quote me then quote on my whole post
11 Part time players
Who probably all have hard working jobs so their physical fitness levels will be high due to the fact that they are working all day and their match training will probably have been ongoing since they qualified
Our guys were given a regime to follow and no doubt that they did but they came into training the week previously, with a bit of catch up to do.

Your like my old french teacher, getting too techinical. There may be a slight difference but its no a million miles away is it.
Was he/she always right as well ?
-
Folk are being a bit too critical are they not!?
We are just over a week into pre-season.
Fair do's, Llanelli are pobably the pishest outfit I have seen Motherwell play in a 'competitive' game but we wouldn't be reading anything into this if it was a friendlly.
I'm confident Gannon has not underestimated the scale of the job and will bring in players of the required calibre.
Agreed
Lets face it, we were not at Home despite the home tie
We were six first team starters short from Last season ( seven including McLean) so only four first team starters from last season played
Llanelli ( pub team or not ) have qualified for European Competition on a regular basis therefore knew what they were getting into and were probably in training accordingly ( a couple of weeks prior at least) with a manager in place
we were in a week prior!!! managerless
we took them on with virtually a reserve team who will be even more clued up and fired up for the return leg
Not all bad tho

So what did a say wrong Chlanethli or Klanethli its all the same. What i was trying to get across was its not an "L" sound with the double L but a K/C.
The difference between pronouncing "LOCH" and LOCK"
Motherwell = Royt ti mor arbennig I Mi
-
Nope it's 'Klanethli' . I lived in Wales , all words that start with Ll ar pronounced Kl e.g. Llandudno = Klandudno
It's Chlanethli with the"CH pronounced as in "OCH" and "Chlan" referring to "being a place with a church"

Does anybody know if there are five officials on the park?
-
commentary team say that fraser held the ball but rolled into the goal with it!!!
-
Aye I noticed that right away, cetainly more refreshing than, "Hi, Im the new manager but I really wanted the Sellik job, not that this job wasnt my first preference, but Id have preferred the job at the tattiedome"
Talks a good game and great early impressions, welcome aboard Mr Gannon
Just wait until Mowbary or hughes are toiling and if we are doing well under this Irishman

Setanta had the rights to show the Scottish clubs' Europa games IIRC, so I doubt it'll be on anywhere now unless somebody else steps in before then.
Setanta channel on freeview now called ESPN

sorry other 'Well fans I just don't agree with this fella!
and thanks for those compliments above, we do have a lot of good posters on our forums. I just even it up with my idiocy
No worries bud , you'll find a lot of folks on here don't agree with him either
-
Gary McAllister or someone yet to be mentioned.
It seems that he has fallen down the pecking order because he knocked the job back last time
-
Everyone here is delighted in that we've had over an hour of absolute torrential rain batter Fir Park which has left most of the ground flooded but the driest area in the whole place is the pitch.
Not a puddle to be seen either on the park or around the trackside!
New drainage system works a treat
Does mean the seeding is getting put back to tomorrow though...
'Flow
Just as if it had been planned with perfect timing
-
How can there be an official at either end? that would make 6 officials.
It's five on park officials plus the " fourth official" who will effectively become the sixth official.
-
Ye'd better add over 60's should bring their birth certificate, pension book, bus pass or doctor's line.
Wot , driving license not good enough or even just looks alone ( a whole line of shocked smileys here , at least eight )
-
better watch, i was told off for doing so many in one post
-
At least, all those that predicted that he would be off for the Aberdeen job if it came up, when he first came to us can say........"I told you so "
-
Klimpl was just a hatchett man!!!! They are ten a penny if thats what we want. He can go won't be too gutted. I have been resigned to losin Shug for some time. I can't see clarky goin but if he did then we should start preparing for 2010-2011 in the first division.
He has already stated that "he has all he needs from here ,so why go anywhere else"!
-
My mates a Aberdeen Fan and he doesn't want McGhee.
Well tuff luck...... he's got him (a whole row of smileys here with the tongue oot )
-
Not forgetting Bobby Watson at Fir Park.
What about Ian St. John?
-
1/ What exactly was the work achieved with AZ Alkmaar?
2/ Or what is his proven track record as an assistant coach?
3/ And was he actually headhunted?
4/ Or are these just glorified statements?
1/ he turned out a youth training system that would leave ours in the shade .........and ours is very good indeed
2/ Can't remember offhand who his head coaches were but each and every one of them speaks very highly of Luc.
3/ Co Adriannse (?spelling) went out of his way to entice Luc from Telstar to red Bull so yes he was headhunted
4/ No

From what i read earlier in the day,
the best bit about the deal is fewer matches televised therfore more bums on seats and increased crowds should follow!!
