  1. On the park though? There is no talk about when Lawless is going to be fit to start, Smith isn't a starter and Foley has barely played and is 34 so might not be ready straight away as well. Kelly is a big upgrade. Unless we do some business we are relying on essentially the same outfield players we have had all season. Mugabi's form has improved but we are an injury or suspension away from starting Lamie, we are still relying on Cole, Watt and Long for goals and we have no creativity in the squad.
  2. No one objected to signing Moult, Aldred, Cole, Carson or Hartley so that is nonsense. Other players like Carroll or McGinley have a question mark over them which can be removed by solid performances (or not in the case of McGinley). Another good example is Tait and Clay who joined from Grimsby at the same time. Tait was clearly the better signing on paper and it worked out that way.
  3. I've seen this line about not wanting to sign players from whatever level a few times recently and it's nonsense. Gallagher and Lamie both came from the same Premiership club but received very different receptions. One was obviously a good signing and the other wasn't. It's the same situation with Polworth and White from ICT in the Championship. Going back a few years Moult came from a lower level than Wes Fletcher but looked the better signing of the two. I haven't seen anyone saying we should ignore any source of players but all signings are going to be judged on their careers so far until we get a good look at them playing for us. If the overall balance is towards poor quality then as we have it have seen this season it can drag us down to level of Accies and below St Mirren which shouldn't be acceptable to anyone involved with the club.
  4. Just like us with Jordan White St Mirren wouldn't be sending us Foley if they thought he would help us climb the table.
  5. A St Mirren reject to pair in midfield with our Livi reject. I wonder if Accies have anyone they want to offload?
  6. Fluking a couple of goals would not have made him a better player. He could have grabbed a hat trick in his first half hour and he would still have been a cart horse. His stats in general play are horrible.
  7. Aye Vigurs definitely downed tools when Barraclough came in.
  8. I thought Carroll had a good game again. He gave good width in the second half and won a brilliant diving header at the end.
  9. If we are paying more than the £28,000 a week total listed there for the first team every single week then it's miles off the mark. And if players wages are less than 50% of staff costs then there are big questions about how the club is being run.
  10. I thought Vigurs was decent. He looks a lot thinner than when he was at Fir Park. Probably because the pubs are shut.
  11. Just spotted that Craig Samson is sat on the Hibs bench as their goalie coach. That's almost as good as Stevie Woods training up his long lost son Barkas for Celtic.
  12. He didn't have Covid after the u21s. He just had to isolate.
  13. Given that it says staff costs are £4m but the player wages only come to £1.5m I think we can safely it's pish. We would need to have another 50 employees earning an average of nearly 50 grand a week.
  14. Hopefully the first of many wins for Graham Alexander. It wasn't pretty but the effort levels have been superb recently. We still need reinforcements on the wing and centre mid.
  15. 45 minutes to get our first equaliser of the season. We didn't work Laidlaw in that half.
  16. 77 minutes to get our first equaliser of the season. Done by Jermaine Hylton.
  17. Robinson is clearly covering his arse there since we never offered Hartley a contract.
  18. Hopefully Maguire and Long play like they have a point to prove.
  19. Why don't we see if we can get Dougie Imrie to make a comeback?
  20. Good luck being in them with Mugabi, Crawford, Seedorf and Long.
