If you are judging solely on starts then it should be based on goals in those starts.
-
We aren't conceding lots of goals but once are we are one nil down the game is over. The 3-5-2 stifles our attack so if it doesn't deliver clean sheets there is zero point in it.
-
All he did on Saturday was foul and give the ball away. He could be the new Wes Fletcher. An early goal then nothing.
-
To be fair Burrows won't be able to sit on his personalised seat without risking getting a pie dropped on his head so the pain is being shared.
-
I meant we were shipping goals with the 3-5-2. Wednesday night was our first clean sheet in the league.
-
He needs to stick with the back four for a while to see if we stop shipping so many goals. Grimshaw is the obvious man to drop out. He has put in two good, energetic performances but there is no end product from him.
-
Aye it was offside but he also led with his arm. Sportscene was quite funny with the host trying to blame Samson for the defeat and Boyd and Thompson sticking up for their mate.

If we can get the three points against Dundee it will take a huge amount of pressure off. The seven games following Saturday are ridiculously tough. Aberdeen and Celtic at Fir Park and trips to Tynecastle, McDiarmid, Ibrox, Parkhead and Livi. Five points from that would sadly be an achievement.
-
We didn't create a lot of chances but dominated the game and it was all played in their half. Hartley and Aldred unsurprisingly strolled it at the back. 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 should be the formation from now on.

Cadds. Great goal and he showed how much more effective he is when he's not saddled with playing wing back. When Dunne is back get him to LB, Tait to RB and Cadden into Grimshaw's position tonight. Turnbull was excellent and has nailed down his starting position. Bowman and Main have both benefited from him offering a midfield threat.

Cadden right back midfield diamond

The day we got hammered at Fir Park by Accies we had Lawson, Jack Leitch and Carswell in midfield. Ramsden and Mick at the back. Bob McHugh up front.
-
I'm a bit worried that Robinson might see this game as a way to salvage Connor Sammon.
-
Dundee United had to pay £200,000 for Charlie Telfer when he was 19. Aberdeen apparently had to pay over 200 grand for Lewis Ferguson who was also 19. In the two high profile tribunals the panel seem to have followed the FIFA guidelines so we might still get a decent amount.
-
I would expect McHugh to come in for Rose. I think he will stick with Main and Bowman because he said Johnson looked scared against St Johnstone and St Mirren look like a team who can possibly be pushed around.
-
Robinson has ruined his development and blown any chance we had of getting EFL cash for him. It must be mentally difficult for a young player to be played out of position for so long. He's right to get out ASAP.

The fact that every player there still has a pro contract is a great outcome for a youth team. Long is starting for East Fife. Watt was reported to have signed for a team in Croatia. Ferguson is at Ayr but not playing. Hall is on loan at Notts County from Brighton. Mackin is at Falkirk. Dom Thomas is on loan at Dumbarton from Killie. I doubt if you were to look at the Hearts, Rangers or Celtic teams from the same competition they would be doing as well.

5I don't think our problems can be solved without two or three signings. I tried to pick a team in the match thread last week and gave up because there's no way to put out a decent 11 despite the bloated squad we have. We don't have a centre mid who can screen the defence but also bring the ball out and play a pass. Rose runs around and makes a few interceptions but most of the time he's hiding and he's a man down when we have the ball. We don't need a world beater just basics. The 3-5-2 is killing us. In the second of half of games i can see what Tait, Cadden and Aldred can see and there is nothing on for them to pass to. Our tactics are basically technically poor centrebacks playing 40 yard passes to technically poor strikers. And expecting Tait and Cadden to be able to defend, bring the ball forward and create in the final third. My initial reaction to us signing Sammon was that Robinson had just wrote his own P45. Main and Bowman can be good players for us with a partner who can take the ball into feet and play with their head up. They are never a partnership. Johnson looks miles from the required standard the now and Sammon is shite plus Robinson is scared to play him at Fir Park now as it will put him under more pressure. Personally I think the guy hasn't got a clue. He's been playing Grimshaw ahead of Turnbull. He kept putting Petravicius back in. He gave starts to Blyth and Shea Gordon. He signed Sammon. These aren't minor mistakes they are massive misjudgements and they are accumulating.

Aldred has one goal against his name this season which is Lafferty's header. That's decent going for 8 or 9 games.
-
If we sack him now they can put Lasley in and give him a points target from the next 5 games. If he gets 10+ points give him the job. If he takes less than 4 from the next two games start interviewing.

He scored goals in the same pub league as Bowman. -

Based on what? He's had two easy finishes. Most of the rest of the time he's been garbage and his link play is dreadful. -

What makes Johnson a natural goal scorer? Other than players falling over to give him easy finishes he's shown nothing. He was awful today. -

It's mental to say Main isn't trying. He emptied his tank working side to side in the first half and was constantly involved in the game. -

We deserved it for our last 20 minutes. Robinson's two subs made us worse. His time is up.
