  1. I thought they would have made half the groups Prem home to Champ and half the opposite for a bit of variety. It looks like the games will be getting scheduled behind closed doors for the benefit of TV.
  2. Cover their expenses fair enough but benefitting financially while changing an away game to a neutral venue is a joke.
  3. If it's Dundee's home game Celtic better not be getting a penny of the gate.
  4. There's not much chance of Ferguson, Mackin or Moore going from being ok/good in League One to moving for a transfer fee any time soon.
  5. Now we've killed our Ibrox hoodoo bring them on and we'll take the points and some of their famous blue pounds. Rangers, Ayr, Airdrie, Stenny,
  6. It will 8 group winners going through and 4 best runner ups so there's a good chance that one defeat will be enough to be knocked out.
  7. The second seeds we can get are Rangers, Morton, St Mirren, Qots. Unseeded teams are Ayr, Livi, Stranraer, Airdrie, Albion Rovers, Stenny, Queens Park, Clyde, Annan, Berwick, East Stirling, Edinburgh. Dumbarton got shafted by being put in the North group.
  8. Both us and Accies are seeds so we can't get them.
  9. Birmingham couldn't sell him either. Not many goalies are sold.
  10. I don't agree that Goodwillie was definitely a better player. Murphy was played ahead of him for the U21s. Murphy would have matched Goodwillie's goals if he had played up front all the time. Dundee United were extremely lucky that Levein was Scotland manager and that two idiots of the calibre of McCoist and Steve Kean were in position to bid against each other.
  11. Murphy was clearly the best player at the club but McCall gave Ojaama and Law chances playing off the striker while sticking Murphy out wide where he spent a lot of time defending. The hype about Goodwillie was largely down the BBC but as Joeboy said United went all out to market him. We didn't do that with Murphy but unless McCall is building the team around him it's hard to promote him as a seven figure player.
  12. They'll never go to England. Why would clubs either trying to get up the leagues or hold onto their position and revenue vote for two clubs with massive fan bases to join. It would be turkeys voting for christmas.
  13. Who have we accepted low ball offers for?
  14. That's just fantasy land stuff. Brighton bought Murphy for £1.7m, Johnny Russell moved to Derby for £750,000 and you think Greg Stewart (signed on a free from Arbroath and couldn't lace either of their boots) is going to attract a £1m bid? Dundee can 'slap' whatever price tag they want on a player, English clubs aren't stupid. If you look at how many players have been moving from Scotland to England and which English clubs have been paying transfer fees it looks extremely unlikely that English clubs are going to be spending much on SPL players this summer or for the foreseeable future.
  15. Who is going to pay £750,000 for Greg Stewart? If Johnson had the potential to be a proper star he would have a lot more goals and assists for us than he has so far.
  16. I don't think that is the case. They were undone by events which couldn't be foreseen ie Rangers and the Setanta collapse. McCall's cup exploits also shafted us. Showing some ambition with the budget when the time was right was the smart thing to do. Finishing 3,2,2 and the openness of recent cup competitions prove that.
  17. So Les came in, ramped up the budget, saddled us with debt and wants to walk away within a year? I'll not be starting up my direct debit until the society has the controlling shareholding. I'm not handing over money which will end up in some Tory tax exile's pocket.
  18. Periscope will work with 4G. As i said before getting the sound right is surely the hard part of streaming a meeting.
  19. A couple of years later and he would have been able to go on a Bosman. The rules were unfair at the time but he landed on his feet at Ibrox so I don't expect a whip round will have too many takers.
  20. Did he not leave on bad terms and get loaned out before ending up at Ibrox?
  21. McCall talked Law into coming here and probably talked him into signing for Rangers as a favour to McCoist. He probably regrets it now but he's made a lot of money and still has a few good years in him.
  22. Killie are due 90,000 Euros for every year he was there so roughly £220,000. The total cost for Aberdeen including VAT would be £260,000. A lot of money for Craig Slater.
  23. Craig Slater leaves Kilmarnock. They'll be due about £300k compensation for him, it'll be interesting to see where he ends up.
  24. Your probably right but who is going to sign them. They aren't better than guys at us, St Johnstone, Ross County, ICT or Dundee but there seems to be an expectation they can skip that level.
  25. I think today was a sign that the Falkirk players everyone rates aren't as good as they seem in the Championship. The likes of Alston, Sibbald, Leahy and Vaulks would be well served to move to a mid table SPL side but probably think they are due a better move. Today they looked a long way away from being what Hearts, Aberdeen or any decent English club are looking for.
