  1. Cadden's agent probably won't let him sign a contract that runs out when he is 22 because of the free transfer rules. I'm sure the club would have liked a longer contract.
  2. The society will decide who is on the board. If the society doesn't who will?
  3. How much business acumen is actually required? We're not building a hotel, getting lines of credit, moving stadium or expanding the business any time soon. You've got the football side of the club which is mainly run by the manager then a small commercial operation mainly based around hospitality. The majority of the income comes from tickets and media rights neither of which can be influenced much at board level. You obviously need people who can set budgets but it's not exactly dragon's den.
  4. Business people aren't interested any more. You can't make money in Scottish football, the clubs aren't going to increase in value and owning a club takes up a lot of time and brings a lot of hassle. Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Celtic and Hibs have had their current owners for 20 years. King has been involved with Rangers for 20 years. Thompson and Gilmore are desperate to get out of their clubs. Killie got a new owner who was mainly interested in getting the hotel for a pittance. Hearts are going to be owned by the fans. There is no one who is interested in buying any of these clubs or us. We've been up for sale for a decade and the only interest has been a crook who is now bankrupt and a dodgy South American consortium. Talking about outside buyers coming in is fantasy stuff.
  5. All the people who have been running the club for the past ten years or so have been fans. I don't really understand this argument, who are the non fans who have been running us in the past?
  6. 1200 time £1000 is £1.2m. I think that would be plenty. Back in the real world no one has been buying Scottish football clubs for well over ten years. The idea that a buyer is going to emerge is extreme wishful thinking, we found one rich idiot and his interest ran out after 15 months (during which time he managed to do a fair amount of damage). Reality is we don't have a rich benefactor and you are as well hoping for the next Messi to come through the youth team as you are saying we need a buyer.
  7. It's unlikely that's what's happening. It looks more like he's selling the well society the shareholding for the same quid he paid for it but still wanting his loan repaid on the agreed schedule.
  8. The club are making the payments not the society.
  9. It's outsourced to Provan Sports so no direct income but they still make money from it.
  10. I think the change from the society possibly owning the club at an unspecified point in the distant future to the society actually owning the club will change how it is perceived. In my opinion all the problems with the society were caused directly by the club and compounded by the society officials doing whatever the club wanted rather than what was best for the society.
  11. Fans always have and will continue to put money into the club. Unless a rich benefactor appears out of nowhere then that's what we will have to run on.
  12. It seems a lot more sensible now that Lunny is away.
  13. Just checked this... the combined population of Motherwell and Wishaw in 1921 was 69,000 (5% of the total people in Scotland). No stats available for Bellshill.
  14. The club will have to break even. That's how it always should have been anyway.
  15. Not surprised by this at all. Going by all his public statements it never seemed like he would be here for the long term. He can go and join UKIP now for a hobby.
  16. [quote name="gdalli10" post="466858 I mind a game at Fir park possibly in McGhee's first spell maybe before where they had to beat us to get into Europe and we won 2-1. They had Jimmy Calderwood, Lee Miller and Aluko I think Darren Smith was still with us. Can't find any highlights on YouTube any one help me out. Only 27 and my memory is gash already We qualified for Europe that day.
  17. Do they not get about the same home crowd as us? 3000?
  18. You can't put the result and btts on the same bet.
  19. If you look at the photo half the yellow jackets are polis. Last May it was all stewards who don't get any respect and probably don't think it's worth their while restraining people (particularly kids). You would need to ask someone who ran on the pitch if more police would have made them less likely to do it.
  20. What i was implying was that if we get into the top six and have Skippy Sunday II then there won't be a pitch invasion. Not cause our fans support Celtic but for the reasons no one went on that day.
  21. I just mean do it again this season and we could have solved our pitch invasion problems.
  22. No one ran on when we beat Celtic on the final day to cost them the title.....
  23. McManus has been better this season and since he joined he has started near enough every game. Lasley and Hammell should be given another year as well. I read a comment about the quality of the players we have brought in recently versus the guys some fans want to release. We've made big mistakes in the transfer market recently but across the whole league it seems to be harder and harder to bring decent players in, Aberdeen have clearly decided to bring in guys already proven in the league rather than risk going further afield and Hearts seem to be back to their old policy of sign as many foreign players as possible and hope for the best. Every other club is struggling to bring in players of the required standard. We obviously need some fresh blood to improve the squad but we will still be looking for a goalie, right back, a couple of midfielders and a striker.
  24. The 'fight' was a non event but it'll all be on cctv. Very difficult to claim self defence when your throwing a traffic cone
  25. In 2016 they have 7 points and we have 5. They win points we throw them away.
