  1. I can remember it being £20 or £22 for most away games 10-15 years ago so factoring in the VAT increase and inflation the real price has probably lowered. The clubs would probably like to raise prices but there is a limit to what people will pay.
  2. Watt to left back and Hammell moved inside.
  3. Great result. A solid performance in the first half then we took advantage of them in the second half. The improvement since McGhee came in and Pearson and Lasley linked up in centre mid has been massive. Watching that online you have to think Aberdeen have a serious chance of winning the league (and feel gutted our purple patch came too soon). There isn't much between the defences, Celtic have the better midfield if everyone is fit but Celtic have no quality in the final third and you would take Hayes, Rooney and McGinn ahead of any Celtic attacker.
  4. The Half Time studio It looks like an old toilet they've filled up with every bit of tat from the club shop.
  5. Good first half us for us. Complete non event. Even the Celtic TV commentators aren't up to their usual indignant standards.
  6. We've no money to sign players we need never mind golden handshakes for millionaires.
  7. There are loads of different types of employment so there is no normal template. There are other types of jobs where people work on fixed term contracts and can't leave to join another company in the same industry straight away. It looks like players get a good deal with guaranteed contracts but if players could give notice or demand new terms at any point clubs would be up shit creek. Players get signing on fees because it's difficult to find adequate players so they can make demands. As Mcguru says bankers as an example might receive a golden hello.
  8. They can't do that because of the type of contract football uses. They could resign but they wouldn't be able to sign for another club during the period of their contract. Transfer fees are between clubs and not really anything to do with players.
  9. You've got the right to do lots of stupid things. Anybody who thinks it's a good idea for their employer to stop paying them but be able to dictate where they can work and diminish their value as an employee by demanding compensation is mentally challenged.
  10. How can you not agree with him? Why should players be tied to a club for longer than the length of their contract? It's incredible that clubs got away with it for so long.
  11. Is bang average different from normal average? Mean, medium, bang? Dundee will be delighted to be playing us considering we've rolled over against them four times in 12. Hopefully McGhee's influence will show and we get a better result and performance.
  12. There's team line ups on a Celtic wiki that says Brian Mclaughlin went off for Kerr. Could be another cover up....
  13. More than likely to give Celtic the opportunity to play some friendlies.
  14. The winter break is a stupid idea given that the worst weather can happen any time from the end of November to March. The sensible thing to do is to accept that games in Scotland will be called off every season and have the maximum number of dates available to play them.
  15. The English League Cup winners still qualify.
  16. No idea. In other pointless information the pools panel gave our game a no score draw.
  17. That was Boyd's 30th goal against United so he was worth a start.
  18. If United win today there is a good chance we would either be bottom on Xmas day or going up there on boxing day with a chance of going bottom. We should all be supporting Kilmarnock.
  19. Me too. The costs don't change because an extra 1000 people turn up so it would be daft to it any other way.
  20. How can it be £25k to stage a a game? Maybe it works out that way if you split the costs of certain things over the season between the total games but to add a fixture can't be that much surely.
  21. Hopefully we avoid Falkirk so there's no mass discussion of Bob McHugh and whether ex players actually score more frequently against us. Ideally East Kilbride away if they beat Stenny in their replay.
  22. The difference having a full back who can play the ball out of defence was huge.
