Outside the EPL every club in the country will have players on wages we match. If we are so skint then we should be going for two decent players than O'Brien, Laing, Straker and potentially two other League Two reserves.
-
If you are going to take players on loan who aren't getting games it's a good idea not to take them from teams you should be better than. Watching Straker's struggles on Saturday should be proof enough of that. There are a lot of players between the League 2 reserve league and Messi.

Not as grateful as Ged Brannan, Tony Thomas, Greg Strong, John Spencer and Andy Goram.

Last season Sutton scored 22 of 64 league goals so roughly one third. This season he has scored 7 out of 16 which is almost half. GIven how few chances our midfield is creating and our lack of possesion i'd say Sutton is probably playing exactly as he was last season but is getting less service and opportunities. He is obviously isn't the most mobile but he is one of the few in our squad who can go for 90 minutes without too much drop off and Barraclough seems to have realised this by leaving him on for the 90 yesterday and dropping him back into midfield for the last 10 minutes or so. Since he came back he has been started all but 3 games, one of those was when he was left out the Russia trip, the other two he was benched to give Faddy a run out in easier matches. GIven that near enough everyone else in the squad seems to have picked up a serious injury in that period he deserves a great deal of credit for always being available. Hopefully he can strike up a decent partnership with Erwin and they both start scoring regularly when we have a functioning midfield.

It's a couple of games you lose in the autumn.

In an ideal world we would bin Lionel. However we are fighting relegation and he is exactly the type of chancer who will perk up and put in a few performances when his contract is running down. At some point we might have a use for him.
-
A bit worrying that we've signed two centre backs this window and both look inferior to Kerr.
-
Not very good.
-
We were that bad in the first half St Johnstone stopped playing. Good spirit from the team in the second half. Thomas wasn't great but gave us a moment of quality for the goal. I thought Kerr was good as well, he put in some heavy challenges which were badly needed.

I thought the Bradford Park Avenue claim was brilliant patter but it might actually be true....

Wise words as ever.

Barraclough is the first manager i've ever thought it was a mistake to appoint. I was actually very pro McCall until he started messing us about with his contract extension. I don't think it should be an easy gig but for Barraclough there is nothing as far as i can see that suggests he is the right man for the job. I'm not the only person who feels he talks a game but has offered little else. Why do you think we should persevere with him regardless of results? Sacking a manager after 6 or 7 defeats in a row isn't a controversial stance. Apart from Ross County and St Mirren none of the other 132 league teams in England and Scotland have lost 6 league matches in a row and Adams and Craig were relieved of their positions because of those runs.
-
If we get beat on Saturday and beat at Ross County that's 7 in a row. Not many mangers survive that. He needs results asap.
-
Details of his contract haven't been revealed. Hopefully that's because he has a contract that means he is easy to bin.

We surely still need a striker to come in. Going to the end of the season with Sutton and two youngsters who have scored one goal each for us (and not recently) would be madness. Barraclough doesn't have much of a CV and has been unconvincing since he arrived. If a win doesn't arrive soon him and Black should be sent packing before they do anymore damage. There seems to be two points of view on this either you think that being Motherwell manager is a privilege which should be earned or you think that whoever is appointed should be given every chance to be a success even if it is to the detriment of the club. Why would I trust Barraclough? He has done nothing as a manager before coming to Fir Park, has overseen a terrible run of form since he arrived here and gives the impression he is bullshitting in all his youtube interviews. It's time for him to get us results or find more suitable employment.
-
I think he can play in a summer league.
-
He was poor overall. He had a decent run of form for about a month but apart from that he didn't contribute much and his attitude in his final few matches was shocking.
-
Apart from the entire second half at Perth.
-
There was a home defeat to Dundee United on a Sunday near the end of the season where he gifted them two early goals.
-
I think most fans in the country would say Thomson and Collum are the two worst refs yet they seem to be the highest rated. It's obviously more who you than what you know.
-
60. I missed three obvious ones as well.
-
Most reports said Kerr did ok on Saturday and O'brien was horrendous at Dens so I don't see why he should walk back into the team.

A.Keeper Ramsden Kerr McManus Watt Carswell Lasley Pearson Erwin Thomas Sutton

A 32 year old centre half who last played for Alfreton Town? Ojamaa, Anier, Twardzik, Kerr and Law are the only players we've signed under the age of 25 in the past 5 years.

If we lose nine games in a row we will need a new manager.
