The Rangers V Motherwell Spfl Playoff Final 28/05/15
steelboy replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
Good to see the club standing up for the fans. 950 tickets would be better but i'd guess that the 1500 will be the centre blocks in the South lower. -
I just watched the highlights. Hibs scored 3 from about 3 yards out, Nish sidefooted 2 in from 8 yards and Riordan scored after Coke passed him the ball on the edge of our box leaving Ruddy no chance. I do agree Randolph was better, haven't seen enough of them to compare recently. Ruddy was far more prone to a clanger, Darren was a bit weak on long range shots.

The Rangers V Motherwell Spfl Playoff Final 28/05/15

There's no point in saying that we can't win, as poor as we have been this season Rangers have been much worse. Zaliuskas, McGregor, Nicky Clark, Foster, Shiels. These guys don't become superstars because they are wearing Rangers shirts. They are still pish and McCulloch, Miller and Boyd are past it. We do have a terrible record against Rangers but that only effects two of our players and i'm confident that Lasley and Hammell will step up. If we can cut out the individual errors and defensive shambles that have plagued our season we should be able to beat them as we will score. It's sad to say but McManus is probably our biggest player over these two games, if he steps up and gives us two solid performances we will be in a strong position. -
He's still been scoring since he went onto the bench. He scored plenty last season playing a turgid team who barely created anything. He scored 9 league goals in a very poor Hearts team in 2012/13. I have my doubts about Barraclough finding one striker better than Sutton but even a decent manager would struggle to find us 3 in the one summer. McCall got the freedom to fill our squad with shite and it has ruined us, someone at the club should be making sure Barraclough isn't given the same opportunity.
-
Letting a guy who has scored 34 goals in two seasons in a team that doesn't create many chances go when you have no strikers signed up for next season doesn't make any sense to me. If McDonald and Erwin both leave as well we will be up shit creek.
-
Compared to this season that is exactly what we need. And what 6 teams above us in the league have managed without any drama.
-
If a lower budget that matched our resources meant a lower standard so be it. People aren't happy now because we have a lower standard despite having a higher budget than many teams in the league and massive amounts of money are disappearing out the club to the likes of Nielsen, Vigurs, Lawson, Cummins and McHugh who give us zero return and others such as McManus, Straker, O'Brien and Law who are doing their best to get us relegated.
-
Considering it's midweek and most people will be working 15 minutes down the m74 or a quick train ride would be easier than travelling to Leith. Regardless considering the numbers we have taken to midweek semis in Glasgow and Edinburgh I think we could take a good crowd to either ground.
-
It's not just the advantage of numbers. If we only get 950 tickets there will be probably be 1500 fans who want to go who will miss out and the club are just going to shrug their shoulders.
-
Players at every level of football perform or don't perform under pressure every season. A lot being at stake doesn't justify not turning up.
-
It seems like he picks the manager and signs the players just now and the fans pay for it later. It's a strange situation.
-
There was no discussion amongst the society members or support about continual direct debits or 2000 society members and now we are apparently saddled with a million pound debt, presumably mainly to pay for players who look about to relegate us. The very small number of people who took the decision to go down this path and hid behind confidentiality agreements when asked to discuss it in advance are morally responsible for the debt and that should be remembered if things go tits up.
-
St Mirren officials shouldn't be talking to our players about anything prematch.
-
Even if we stay up he has to go. We're in the mess we are in because McCall made a huge mess two summers ago when we were in a strong position to rebuild and he completely fucked it up. We could be paying for his incompetence for years to come. This summer whether we stay up or down the manager has a tough job on his hands. Leaving it to Barraclough who if you are being kind you would say his managerial skills are questionable would be madness. What he deserves or what is fair doesn't come into it, we are talking about the survival of the club and that is more far, far more important than some professional bullshitters feelings.
-
If they only give us 950 we should give them exactly the same. One ticket more and we are forelock tugging plebs.
-
The manager knows he's talking pish though, McManus seems like he is actually deluded enough to believe the crap he spouts on a weekly basis.
-
We did well to only concede two with McManus and O'Brien auditioning for the circus. A decent manager would have got us out this no problem. Getting rid of Barraclough is more important than up or down for me.
-
Clarkson is knackered. His knees aren't up to playing a full season.
-
I think he would be likely to go back to Oz if he leaves Scotland. 50 games and all the travelling involved in League One might not be what he is looking for at the moment.
-
Hopefully. When McDonald left he had scored 45 goals in 111 starts and he was ready to make an impact wherever he ended up. If Erwin leaves before he even puts a decent half season together for us he will be taking a big step backwards.
-
According to a Celtic fan I know they are looking at Erwin because they don't have a striker for their development squad. They were looking at Robbie Muirhead for that role but he chose to go to Tannadice.
-
I'll stick a tenner on it to make sure.
-
Do you think it's a co-incidence that the two internationalists with Champions League experience he managed to sign were both previously at the club and are good friends with current players?
-
Playing a conference north right back in a free role behind the striker at the start of the season must have contributed to McCall losing the dressing room.
-
He was dire at Thistle and on Friday night there. Being a better option than Ramsden or Reid isn't a good reason to give anyone a new contract, it's the sort of thinking that sees you relegated.
