  1. cadden was a bit more composed than last week. it looked he came on to play against harris and help reid out. having thomas on the bench every week when it's obvious we won't put him due to the compensation seems daft. lawell was talking about how financially strong celtic are and the need for more competition in scottish football, we should ask him to put his money where his mouth is and let a young player develop.
  2. even though it was a draw i'd take that game over the two we have won against hibs this season. Ainsworth got subbed because he downed tools exactly as he did at tynecastle. Mcfadden was playing his best football this season, taking him off was strange. Hollis standing on his goal line at every set piece puts us at a massive disadvantage when the ball comes in. I couldn't believe hibs didn't swing their last corner in because we're a shambles at defending them. Great spirit to come back and get the equaliser with the 11 we had on the park and credit to vigurs for setting it up.
  3. we might not have missed out on any real quality but we have had guys in the past like darren smith, willie kinniburgh, fitzpatrick and even saunders who haven't done much since they left but did us a good turn while they were here. it's hard to tell what jack leitch has about him but he showed the value of playing a fit player in the correct position.
  4. nielsen is going nowhere without a pay off which is bad news for hollis.
  5. Queen's Park are amatuers but they think that dundee united should pay them to employ boys who have formerly played for their club.
  6. we can get two or three players in for the money mcfadden is on. We need to try and figure out how to get rid of lawson.
  7. i was pleased when faddy signed but we all thought he would get his fitness up to a reasonable standard and that hasn't happened, maybe mccall/porteous should have forseen this maybe they couldn't. i'd say faddy was a gamble worth taking but it hasn't paid off and i'll be disappointed if we resign him. i disagree about vigurs and lawson, ross county were a very ordinary team who utilised negative tactics and were able to take advantage of hearts, hibs, dundee united and aberdeen going into meltdown 12 months ago. ainsworth upping his efforts at the end of his loan period wasn't a surprise and neither has his regression been. it is the overall squad that is flawed. they are too old, too slow and there isn't enough creativity. that will have to be addressed in the summer but for now we need to get organised, protect the back four and try and scrap our way to a european place.
  8. i liked cummins but having seen his comments on twitter and having seen him attempt to move this season he has some sort of back issue which is making him even slower than he was previously.
  9. i don't think our season is over but we didn't play any youngsters in the dead games at the end of the previous two seasons so i don't expect it to happen this season if we fall out of contention for europe. the st johnstone game on the final day of last season was a perfect prolouge for this season. the standard of football this season has been worse than since malpas was in charge and possibly even lower. in terms of entertainment i'd say it is my worst ever and it's extra galling because we have wasted so much money on mcfadden, neilsen, lawson, vigurs, ainsworth, mchugh and cummins. it should have been well within the scope of a half decent manager to build a team which could compete and entertain in this league.
  10. cummins is hardly a ringing endorsement. can't get a game for dundee and taking a wage next season. expect to see adam and bob selling 50/50 tickets next season.
  11. the decline obviously came on gordon young's watch. the year he gave halsman, innes, howarth and others senior contracts although their was no chance of them making the first team showed he didn't have a clue and he would have been moved on by the club if it wasn't for his contract. from 90, 91, 92 and 93 boys we have carswell to show for it. hopefully leitch will do a better job.

    St Johnstone

hutchy had a good second half, won a lot of tackles.
  13. i was quite impressed with hearts on saturday against celtic and they showed a lot of character against us in january. i expect them to fancy their chances and be very physical.
  14. omar daley getting a run out on the final day of the season when erwin was on the bench was the worst example of that.
  15. if mccall is playing vigurs half fit ahead of leitch or thomas it's a sad state of affairs. I can see why you play lasley and carswell carrying knocks but vigurs offered nothing tonight. Common sense says when you are shipping goals you simplify things. Mccall decided in his wisdom to play a complicated 5 man system and 4 of them didn't have a clue what they were supposed to be doing. 13 goals in five games but it's coming from the middle of the park.
  16. mccall's tactics in the first half were brutal. The midfield were absymal and gifted them the game. Neilsen should be finished, the guy is an imposter. Rapport with bois? Give him a shot of the drum.
  17. would these be astro or the two existing grass parks?
  18. i had forgot about that, it wasn't exactly a moment of magic though. the ineptitude of our forward play in the past five games featuring mcfadden speaks far louder.
  19. he set up one goal and scored two in the partick and st johnstone games. in the 2014 games he has barely made a contribution.
  20. you think we should make allowances for the fact that he is only in the team on repuatation? the league is the poorest it's ever been and he can't make an impact. unless he is willing to play for bob mchugh level wages he should be finished at fir park as that is his level of performance these days. if he leaves at the end of the season who would sign him?
  21. if he was a nobody he wouldn't be in the team and he would probably have been sent off last night for his constant dissent. regardless of who he is the contribution isn't there and mcfadden and sutton isn't a viable partnership up front.
  22. if we had signed derek riordan and he had peformed the way mcfadden had this season there would be uproar. probably our top paid player and he's not won us a single point this season. all he is good for these days is moaning at the ref.
  23. it looks like it's going to be a tough one. Ainsworth and vigurs are going to have to be told to get effort levels upped from the weekend. I think mccall will have them up for it as he won't want another profile embarassment. Gunnar murray hutchy mick hammell ainsworth lasley carswell vigurs zfa sutton
  24. there is no sensible point behind the wiliam wallace thing. brining up something that happened 700 years ago and comparing it to the modern era is the height of stupidity. the fact that league is struggling to get a sponsor probably isn't helped by these muppets either. in the same week they have managed to get roll of honour into the charts the ira have sent 7 parcel bombs to england and one of the dieters they are 'honouring' has been implicated in a sectarian massacre at an official inquiry. how many businesses want to be associated with that?

    Hated Players

but we had the last laugh when we pumped them in the replay then he missed a sitter in the last minute to equalise in the league game the following week.
