  1. i travelled by train from valencia to alicante a few years ago. there is a euromed train that goes to valencia and a slower regional one that i bought tickets for on the day that took about 3 and a half hours. +44 203 137 4464 that's the number for renfe's uk ticket agents.
  2. will do. it looks like you can buy an open return for about 30 euros so hopefully a single will be cheaper.
  3. mind and pack your kilt again. you looked smashing in greece.
  4. train from valencia to tarragona on the saturday morning and spend the day at the beach then get the shuttle bus to reus airport. i'm going to phone the company that sells spanish rail tickets in the uk on monday, i can't figure out how to buy a single ticket from the renfe website rather than a open return.
  5. we can't really complain too much about the performance given wednesday night's exertions but some of mccall's choices were baffling. starting omar was stupid so no credit for subbing him off but it seemed like we were playing a 4-2-4 at the start of the second half, murphy and ojaama looked to have been told not to track back. we got outnumbered at the back before their penalty and it had happened a few times previously. mccall not sending on ZFA straight after the red card was unbelievable, what is there to be gained by trotting down to cooper and back? we lost the corner they scored from our left back position when we had no left back on. it is telling that the goal came when we had to ditch our usual tactics and go a bit more direct. it is also telling that it came from nicky law playing out the wing and using his quality in a dangerous area. get a centre mid in and a striker who can lead the line rather than engage in greco roman wrestling and we'll be fine. hutchy was our motm by a mile for me and ramsden was decent at the back but his distribution was shocking, how many times did he just flight the ball into the middle of the park? get cummins in the team.
  6. he was on tv saying he wouldn't be playing for us a few weeks ago. if he wants to play for us surely he could say to mccall?
  7. it's a fact that he isn't currently signed with us. what is stopping him?
  8. i'd play randolph hateley hutchy cummins hammell law lasley carswell murphy ojaama higdon
  9. hearts haven't signed anyone or renewed any contracts. mad vlad's stripping them to the bone to minimise his losses. cut through the bullshit in their accounts and they have lost £13M in the past two seasons.
  10. there's one with a picture of cloudy and a stray wolf. that's the one you want.
  11. mcfadden doesn't want to play for us. money isn't an issue for him. ending up back at square one in the spl and being percieved as a failure is (the same would go for dundee united, hearts or aberdeen). the future of the club is making the best of what we've got and enjoying the good times.
  12. he's ok and posting. it's in the athens thread.
  13. i thought in the first half we did well without creating anything. i was hoping to see some attacking changes at half time as we had nothing to lose but that's obviously not mccall's style, two subs standing on the touchline when their 2nd goal went in pretty much sums up mccall's use of subs in his time here. that moment was up there with the triple sub at 2-0 nil down to killie and using his first sub after rangers scored against a knackered team in the 89th minute. how omar wasn't the first man off is a mystery. sitting high up in the stand you got a great view of the game unfolding and daley's lack of movement and tactical stupidity was staggering. i've never seen anyone who appears to give less of a fuck about playing for us. the couple of occasions in the first half when we worked the ball left and he just stood stock still in the middle of the park rather than trying to get into the box were beyond belief. one of the local greek papers gave him the worst man of the match award and it was well deserved. we played some nice football but we seem to have a problem getting into the final 3rd at moment. everyone is playing in areas of the park the opposition are happy for us to be in. we're not good enough to score goals playing the ball out the back and playing 25 passes. we need to have options up top that can put defenders under pressure rather than the cigar smoking displays we've seen from grant munro and boumsong recently.
  14. that was a magic trip apart from the world's worst hangover on the tuesday afternoon. i stuck to the beers after that. i thought it was a nice city. it had good transport, a decent beach and plenty of cheap beer and good food. the area around omonia where we were staying was full of dodgy characters but never felt unsafe. sitting in the roof garden bar or on that wee lane in monostariki drinking a two euro beer with a cracking view of the acropolis beats anything we've got to offer away fans roll on valencia
  15. where you there when the black pitbull was chasing the white wolf down the street? that black dug was evil.
  16. edinburgh to alicante on the wednesday with easyjet then reus to prestwick with ryanair on the saturday night. £166 bucks plus a motor and hotels. the reus to prestwick flight is currently sitting at 25 quid total for anyone looking for a cheap return flight.
  17. a centre mid and a centre forward asap. and one way ticket anywhere for omar. he was even getting pelters in the greek press today.

    Ross County

that is not at all suprising. law was the best of a bad bunch.
  19. ross county are decent at the back but the worst team i've ever seen in the spl on the ball. they made gretna look good. we were absolutely toothless. higdon and humphrey were as bad as usual and even although omar could be a player he is either too thick or too lazy to be any use. henrik on from the start might have made a difference, mccalll giving him 15 mins up front then moving him to the left wing made no sense. we miss jenno, we need a centre forward and a centre mid.
  20. dunfermline came up, didn't add to their first division squad and paid the price, it'll be the same for county and dundee. the only thing i'm worried about is them kicking us off the park. kovacieic, grant munro, tokeley, russel duncan, iain vigurs and martin scott are all dirty bastards and i think i remember a few first division managers having a go at their style of play last season. it'll be quite funny to see fitzpatrick, steven craig and fraser playing against us, i imagine they'll all be quite keen to get it right up us. there weren't many ex well players in the league for a few years there but there's loads this season - those 3, sutton, hughes, kevin mcbride, mclean, gunning, clancy, foran - we'll be facing an ex player more weeks than not.
  21. the proclaimers vs david guetta played 3 times.
  22. we would still have to pay for a replacement for murphy so i'd say we're better off hanging onto him and losing for nought next summer. if we wanted a fee we should have played him up front all last season so he ended up 15-20 goals and a bit of hype. i thought he played very well last night. he made quite a few opportunites and used the ball well. the pana coach switched sissoko over to his side in the first half to try and stop him getting forward as much.
  23. how can you be sticking up for a guy who ended up a full 5 yards away from the man he was meant to be marking at a set piece?
  24. hutchy was a bit naive with some of his challenges in the first half but being over eager isn't anywhere near as bad as not bothering to track your man.
  25. boumsong's run is why randolph didn't get the ball. if higdon had bothered his arse to track the run he could probably have cleared it himself.
