  1. Is it at all possible that the club has in fact made the announcement with our new manager being Tom Orrow?
  2. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and that tomorrow will come sooner for you than that tomorrow will come here.
  3. I like this idea. The Town of Motherwell has never really embraced the Club. The more people who are attracted to FP on a Saturday, the more money the town and businesses will make.
  4. Great effort LadywellToi and I wish you success in your endeavors supporting our MFC. You remind me of myself trying to bolster support in the 70's and 80's when there were no computers, so I tried through letters to the Motherwell Times and other areas. To be honest, I thought our attendances were bad then (maybe 5,500 average) but when I saw less than 3,500 against Hearts, I was totally bereft of any possible solution. Keep up the great work, I appreciate what you are doing and you write exceptionally well. You can't beat common sense and I think you have that in abundance.
  5. Milo, Santa is on his way, do NOT despair......
  6. Melvin, that was a great post and I understand your frustrations. Being a lifelong fan myself, albeit that I've been overseas since 1995, what scunners me is the guaranteed OF winning the SPL and the fact there was less than 3,500 at the 'Ark tonight. I used to write letters to the Motherwell Times years ago trying to encourage people to go to our games and then we would have had 6,500 but tonight was a shocker as far as Lanarkshire proving they don't care. So I understand your despondency but don't know the answers. Makes me fear for the future though as far as our Club is concerned.
  7. Good post Ladywelltoi. Late here to post but just wanted to say that I don't think Aberdeen will be relegated and their attendances have been much better than ours, in fact, the attendances at Fir Park are kind of disgraceful for a SPL Club.
  8. Football fans are a fickle bunch. Hearts doing well is for me a great thing for the SPL and good on them. People constantly complain about the OF and when one team makes it to challenge the OF we should be congratulating them rather than saying we are this or that. Kudos to Hearts for making that challenge. I hope we beat them but I respect what they have achieved so far this season.
  9. Wouldn't be harsh on Boyle. Consider the fact that our Board was taking a chance hiring Brown and Knox full-time. So, had they not worked out it would have been easier for the Board to release them, it works both ways. However, in retrospect, it didn't work in the Club's favour.
  10. The translation: "Do now worry about getting news Motherwell's new manager soon be announced and supporters will be very happy again. One thing that confused me, why did Brown and know to go to lead a team that has sex with sheep? Lamb fucking pussies!" Well, there you have it.........
  11. Craig Brown should recall that it was Motherwell who gave him a tremendous opportunity to become manager of a SPL team and take him out of obscurity. To do what he has done today proves he has little integrity and NO loyalty.
  12. I simply am dumbfounded and very, very angry! Just came in from work and happened to log on here to see this. I feel that MFC has been raped yet again and I am becoming sick and tired of supporting a team for over 40 years for the same old same old to happen time after time. How much more can Motherwell fans take? Does the Board not understand this is breaking point? I better not say anything else right now...............
  13. Here in Edmonton we usually get the first fall of snow in October. That snow remains here on the ground until April, with accumulations thereafter and temperatures ranging between -5c through -30c (colder with windchill). Nothing is ever cancelled, buses run, everyone is expected to go to work regardless of the conditions and schools are only ever closed if there is a blizzard. A few years back we had a NHL game outside at Commonwealth Stadium when it was -26c and there were 57,000 at that game. However, there are major differences between snow in the UK and here. The snow we get is a drier type of snow, there you get heavy wet snow. We are used to driving in snow and have winter tires, I'm fairly sure many people in the UK are not used to driving on snow and ice and there would be many accidents and fender benders. The local councils here clear the roads well and if there's been a lot of snow they call in private contractors (lots of guys here drive trucks and put those snow plows on the front). The fact that we have close to 6 months of winter it's just considered normal and not an unusual circumstance. Today it's the CFL's Grey Cup final at Commonwealth stadium between Saskatchewan and Montreal. It's going to be -7 at game time and there will be close to 60,000 at the game.
  14. Refereeing standards in the SPL are under question and have been for decades and rightly so. I was at Hampden when we played Rangers in a cup game in the 70's or early 80's and the ref gave a penalty when I knew and the TV highlights confirmed the tackle was at least a yard out the box. Having watched American football, college football and the NHL, they get it right because they review decisions that they are not certain about, but most times they got it right first time. Our standards of refereeing are woeful in comparison.
  15. It's all just "hype" Tamy, but I would like to see how good he is supposed to be.
  16. I'd still take Gow off and get Casagolda on. Anyway, this game is for the taking, come on Motherwell
