So anyone got any insight as to who we might sign tomorrow?
-
For a guy who passes very well, how come Polworth can’t shoot?!?
-
Robbo himself said he is looking for a center half and a striker: Robinson is also continuing his search to improve his squad, and while he wouldn’t be drawn on a move for Celtic defender Jack Hendry, he did admit that he is still hoping to strengthen several areas of his side. “I won’t discuss anyone else’s players,” he said. “I’m looking at every area still. “Peter Hartley was unavailable for the game last Friday due to family reasons, and that made me realise we are a little bit short. “We had a deal fall through for a centre-forward that we thought we might have got in, so everything is ongoing at the minute.” https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17858270.stephen-robinson-hopes-motherwell-clean-bill-health-derby/

I was taken a back by how scared of a tackle Seedorf seemed to be. He needs to grow a set if he is going to make it in this league.
-
I’m really frustrated by that performance. We have wingers who can’t beat their man. Seedorf looks petrified of a kick in the shins, so so soft. Devante Cole and Long couldn’t trap a bag of cement. Campbell and Donnelly look like their pulling a tyre behind them. Dunne and Gallagher spend ages passing the ball between themselves and don’t get my started on Tait, i’ve never seen a player get caught out of position so often. The young lad Hickey is 10 times the full back he is. Really really poor. Can’t see where the goals are coming from this year. I’m away to kick the dog.

2019/2020 Game 2: Celtic (H) August 10th 12pm Kick off

As much as it pains me to say it, I thought the lad Ajer was immense today. He bullied our players all game. Man mountain next to Hylton. -
Who is in fact Jonathan Obika who signed for St Mirren.
-
@joewarkfanclub This was the guy that sparked the original Benteke rumours.
-
Have you guys learned nothing. Louis Moult couldn’t get a game when he first joined and went on to be a hero. Some players take time to adapt to the intensity of Scottish football. He may turn out to be a poor singing, but give him a chance to settle and support him in this endeavour.

There was more than one trialist.

Motherwell close in on Maciver Motherwell are set to sign freed Ross County youngster Ross Maciver on a one-year deal. Attacking midfielder Maciver, 20, who has been training with the Steelmen, impressed Fir Park boss Stephen Robinson enough to win a contract. Motherwell will see the youngster as a replacement for midfield starlet Reece McAlear, 17, who has now joined Premier League side Norwich. Maciver was released after the Staggies pulled out of the reserve league. After coming on as a sub in County’s Irn-Bru Cup win over Montrose in October, Maciver spent last term’s latter stages on loan at Elgin where he scored four goals. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/transfer-news-live-rangers-celtic-18793942

He played in the same PSG youth team as big Cedric.
-
It’s a guy called Christy Manzinga.
-
So did anyone else clock the player standing next to Dunne before tonight’s game? Looks like we have another player on trial or in the pipeline. Looked a lot like the guy who scored the overhead kick during preseason.
-
Hylton, Ilic, Gallagher, Scott, Polworth..... actually most of the team looking good in an attacking sense, which looks like it will get better as understanding grows. A couple of shakey moments at the back which better teams might punish, but i’ll take that for exciting football. Great goal by Hylton.
-
I’m pretty sure he snapped his patella tendon (knee cap).
-
Are the highlights on the tv tonight?
-
I think we are more likely to see a new midfield three of Campbell/Donnelly or McGuire/Polworth or Sloth.
-
To be fair to Supermarv, you spend the majority of your time on this site talking in riddles. If you know something, have the balls to say it in plain English or don’t try and cryptically spill inside information.
-
I’d suggest that the use of the word ‘initial’ means that we have a pre-agreed option to keep him for the season if we want to come January.
-
Interesting to note the gaffer saying we have missed out on 3 wide players that we thought we had over the line. https://www.nottheoldfirm.com/exclusive/motherwell-manager-stephen-robinson-provides-update-on-pre-season-progress-and-transfer-business/

I see Ryan Gauld has been told he’s free to find a new club despite having a year on his contract. Might be worth a gamble as the long term replacement for Turnbull. Wages could be an issue.
-
I see Salford and Gillingham are trying to sign Jack Payne who is an attacking midfielder on a free transfer. He’s a good player, plays like a number 10, but can play left wing too. Wonder if we will be interested too.
-
I’ve actually liked the look of Jake Caroll in both games so far. Seems composed on the ball and likes to get forward.
-
Another concern I have with Shankland is that he carries a bit of weight and isn’t the quickest. I have a suspicion that he won’t be as effective when stepping up a league. Might be why he hasn’t found a club down south yet.
