Have a look at Bobby Williamson et al managerial stats and I guarentee you they wont be any better. Its time for Motherwell to take a 'risk' if you could call it that. Personally I think he is the ideal candidate for the job.
-
Sorry I should have said if Leitch goes with him. Otherwise keep him in place by all accounts he does a good job and he and Nijholt may work well together.
-
There is nothing wrong with new managers at a club like Motherwell. It was just our luck we got hit with the worst new manager in the history of the world with Malpas. In my opinion Luc Nijholt is the ideal choice as he has been working under a variety of different managers for a number of years, has built up a network of contacts and at the end of the day really wants to manage the club and is a former player as well. If Leitch goes I would also try and get Chris McCart back as assistant manager if he would be interested in the job.

OK his salary may increase but Aberdeen had a few glory years when McGhee was a player but have had no notable success since. Its a sideways move footballing wise and even if he does the same with them as he did with us last year does that mean that Aberdeen are going to have the potential to challenge for the title? Of course not. In my opinion it is most certainly a sideways move, as demonstrated by the calibre of player currently at both clubs, ie exactly the same. For what its worth I would like to see the board be a bit adventurous and go for Luc Nijholt and Chris McCart as his assistant if possible.

Im sorry I know he is a former player for them and all that so fair enough but this is nothing more than a sideways move as far as Im concerned. No more than that.

He was a wate of space. Just a shame we didnt get rid of him last summer. Waste of money by McGhee.

Aberdeen Say Managers Job Is Mark Mcghee's If He Wants It

I dont think he'll go to Aberdeen. Hearts I could maybe understand but nowadays Aberdeen are certainly not a bigger team than Motherwell. Their finances alone would suggest that. -
Well done to flow and everyone at the club

We're In Line For A Uefa Place Just Now........

Thats correct but we entered the first round proper last year after finishing 3rd but even if we had finished 3rd this year we would still have to play an extra qualifying tie as opposed to last year and if we had finished runner up in the Scottish cup we would have had to play two extra ties. To be honest I dont see what the problem is playing extra games against some decent sides where we would hopefully have a chance of going through. -

We would always need to play extra qualifying ties now though in the new format, whats the problem? -

If any of them even dared complain about it they should be shown the door. They will have two weeks off in the summer like every other person and enjoy it. If they are professional sportsmen it shouldnt even enter their heads. My season nearly always finishes the last week in November and I start my own preseason the 2nd week of December. Usually get about 10 days off so they can lump it in my opinion!! -
Thats not what the original post was about though. It was about the commitment of the players leading to where we finish. Because I think most people would agree that if Motherwell's players gave 100% commitment and effort every game then with their natural superior ability to most teams then they would win a lot more than they lose or draw. Defeats to teams like Falkirk, St Mirren and Hamilton due to lack of effort is unacceptable in my opinion - and no-one here can deny that there have been a few of those performances this season. I would much rather see us play fantastic football and smash teams to bits every week but that just isnt going to happen. So the commitment has to be there every game then we can build from there.

What Mark Reynolds needs is a good rest and no speculation over where he'll be at the start of next season. The lad is still only 21 and has played over 100 top team games already. Lets get him back fresh for Pre-Season and he'll be back to his excellent best I'm sure. Remeber both he and David have the club at heart and at the end of the day thats got to count for something

I think this is the best post I've ever read on here. Agree 100%

Are You Planing To Renew Your Season Ticket ?
Faddyisgod replied to East_Stand_Al's topic in Club Chat
Sadly its looking unlikely for me as I've only made it over for 3 games this year and even beginning to feel the credit crunch in my line of work. Always put my Roma ST first seen as I live here, even after Sat nights shambles!!! -
He was bringing the club into disrepute = show him the door

As far as I'm concerned Marc Fitzpatrick gets a very very raw deal from the supporters of our club. Every game I have seen he has worked hard and done the unfashionable things as well. As Jay says, how ironic is it that Stephen Hughes is the one coming out in support of him. This guy is getting paid a fortune every week and is not delivering on the park. Certainly at our club the fans have their favourites and pick on some of the other guys, which is out of order in my opinion.
-
Good signing from what I've seen of him. Will hopefully do well.
-
Surely this guy is kidding on??!!
-
Good luck if your going up guys!

They must be taking a good long look at the pitch. Usually the confirmation the game was off was pretty much just after 9am UK time.

Pearo is a far far far far superior player to Gary Teale. I dont care what anyone says. I'd have him back ASAP!
