Topic came up at todays game, I recolect Stevie scoring a headed goal from either a knock out then back in from a corner or freekick, don't remember who against or when, would say it was in his first spell with us. May even have fabricated the whole event.

Hoping someone with a better memory than us stella fuelled few could answer

fairly certain the partick goal was a free kick from the right hand corner of the box at the south stand end into the far top corner.

not so sure about the other one. i think it was a low shot on the left channel in front of the cooper.

edit -

After 79 minutes Motherwell made the chances of a Dundee United comeback more remote when they doubled their lead.

McFadden flighted a cross in from the right and Craig Easton tried to nod clear but the ball only got as far as Hammell who cracked a superb first-time effort into the back of the net.

and

Keith Lasley was brought down on the edge of the area by Ross and Hammell curled the resultant free-kick past goalkeeper Kenny Arthur in a moment that David Beckham would have been proud of.

Am sure he scored twice in quick succession against the Dundee teams, would be around the time of that Utd goal, Dundee midweek game maybe?

Was that not Stevie McMillan and was it not 2 free kicks?

Both at Fir park?

16/12/98 19:45 Dundee 2-1 Coyle (34), McMillan (77) - Adamczuk (37)

26/12/98 15:00 Dundee Utd 2-0 McMillan (55), Branan (57)

sent of the week after at Aberdeen

over christmas and the United game was horiffic weather? Struggling to see the other end of the pitch from the DC!

Think the game you're thinking of was Boxing Day 98 when we beat Utd 2-0 at FP. Ged Brannan scored with a header before McMillan netted at wind assisted free kick. This was the day of the infamous Boxing Day Hurricaine for any weather experts out there.

Stevie McMIllan, another one of these real talents ruined by injury. Yer Donald Duck in fitba but he could have made it in the prem. Retired at 29 I believe. Damn shame - wonder what he is doing now - anyone know?

Real talent? Smuggle some of the class A's you've been necking over to Athens...
