Young lennon starts for u21, Wilson on bench

Not a bad line up for Gemmill. Mulligan who can't get a look in at Dundee ahead of David Watson and Mebude who is never a striker ahead of Bobby Wales are daft picks but minor by his standard. Killie fans will be raging.

Beat 2 nil. Unbelievably negative tactics.

Totally agree belgium miles ahead of us. Watson never on miller was anonymous barron and mullen of leeds only ones I'd say were OK maybe other 2 cb murray and neilson. Mebude offered something but I think that showed where we are just now. I also thought johnstone and doig were poor. On paper looks strongest squad for a while buy they look a poorly coached team. No patterns of play all night.

I wouldn't judge any of the players on that. Playing a 5-3-2 with the twist that neither of the strikers are actually strikers is crazy. When Mulligan and Mebude got the ball they just charged at goal head down like you would see in a primary school game.

They seemed to sit even deeper after half time and were relying on a keeper who hasn't played a game this season rather than Johnson from Hibs who has been playing for Airdrie. I'm sure anyone watching could have predicted that the goalie would eventually sell a goal.

Putting on Oné who only has 20 minutes in the Sheffield United first team and then subbing on Jack Milne who is a defender to play up front ahead of Watson and Wales who are getting goals and assists for Killie was very strange. I get the impression that Gemmill hates Scottish football because none of the clubs will employ him.

I didn't say I was watching it!

Waiting for the Antigua vs Dominican Republic to kick off. Been enjoying watching the Concacaf Nations League games this week.

A sensible option.

Yep gemmill is poor but as I said on paper looks strong squad as a lot of players playing  regularly in spfl. What it highlights is spfl is not very strong and our players not as gd as some think they are. Miller is only 18 and has all attributes to reach top but I personally feel he has loads to do not least improve his pace and determination. Not meaning to talk him down but Turnbull imo was better although he was 20 in his breakthrough season. If you look at the really top players they never stop running miller just now for me is too passive. That of course is easily rectified and talent which he has in abundance is not. I hope he came off pitch on Friday and thought that's level I need to get to.

The "need to run about more" and "doesn't track back" mentality is the kind of attitude that stifles creative footballers in the Scottish game.

Not every player needs to be a hard tackling box-to-box grafter. It's all about getting balance in the team.

There is more to being a midfielder than running around like a headless chicken and smashing into folk.

Never said that. Interpretation is everything. My observation is justified I feel .Billy gilmour is a ball player but watch him and he never stops moving and he was same at 16 17 18 as he is now. Continuously wanting the ball and wanting it back when he didn't have it.

Totally agree with your 2nd point but your 1st point is not what I said. Top players are constantly wanting it or trying to get it back. Big difference to what you say.

Certainly never hurts to have additional attributes although I wonder if he’s a bit constrained by the style of play and the roles given to him. The likes of Messi and Modric are great players and popping up all over the park but they are given free rein to roam. Especially with Motherwell, Miller is given a specific role to play and that his responsibility but I get your point. The more boxes he can tick in midfielder attributes the better he is going to be.

I feel this also as against belgium he was playing right mid of a 3 I'd say with barron directing traffic in middle and so maybe that's why barron looked better. Miller's best position in my mind is in middle directing traffic from deep but he's been played further forward for ur recently where although done OK I don't feel he is on ball enough to utilise his passing which is strongest part of his game I feel
