The end of the season in nearly upon us. This weekend will see where the silverware is going, who is going to Europe and also who will be sadly going down to the first division. We at SPLrefs.com wish all SPL clubs the best of luck this weekend.

As some of you will be aware we launched our website earlier on this year with the aim of trying to be a single voice for the fans of Scottish football by highlighting controversial refereeing incidents and getting views from you, the fans on how we can improve the overall refereeing standards in Scotland, with the ultimate aim of being a liaison between the fans and the SFA.

This season it seems like barely a week goes by where fans aren't lambasting referees or assistants where they believe they have called it wrong.

The challenge we put to you all is the following:

In your opinion, what has been the most controversial incident the referee or one of the assistants has been involved in during a Motherwell game this season?

It's over to you......

Easy, the foul on Sutton in the box in the last minute against R***ers, a blatent penalty. Despite Wattie's media going into overtime about a marginal offside decision being the controversial decision in the match even manufacturing it into being a goal chalked off.

It would depend on whether you mean the most controversial decision or the worst decision (I get the feeling you mean the worst decision).

As far as controversy goes, I'd say it has to be Boyd's non-goal against us in the 0-0 draw. No other decision created the hoo-ha that this one did. Walter Smith and the Weegie Meedja dragged it out to the point where it was still an issue when it was announced that the same linesman would be on duty at the OF game a couple of weeks ago. In reality, it was a non-issue - the whistle had gone for offside, our defence and our 'keeper had stopped accordingly but Boyd stuck the toe in the ball and it happened to go in, a chance shot when the pressure was off - he hadn't tried to score from that distance all night, if play was continuing he'd had closed in before he tried anything (again, as he had done all night). Everyone in the ground knew this but Smith and the meedja blew it out of all proportion with little regard for the facts. This decision caused the most controversy but was not the worst decision in a Motherwell game this season.

I'd say Alan Muir turning down two strong nalty claims at Love Street in January, he shat it cos he didn't want to be the reason St Mirren lost their last game there.

Theres been a couple.......

Clarkson and Porters Red cards.

The two penalty claims at St Mirren on the last game at Love Street.

Kris Boyd bein about 5-10 yards offside for the 1st goal in the 3-1 defeat at Ibrox for me has to be the worst descision of the season against us. He ran from about 15 yards offside onto 5 yards offside and it still wasnt given. Both the ref and lino where at fault for that on that occasion.
