SCDave
Thread tidied up. There's an ongoing thread in CC for those who want to discuss suicide, this thread is about the life of a Motherwell hero, who has gone before his time. Let's keep it respectful. Welldel
My memory is maybe playing tricks on me but, I can remember him chasing a lost cause at Ibrox, midweek game ?? , crossing the ball in for us to score ?????? Â He was a very talented player and deserves to be remembered with respect.

BigColin08
R.I.P Paul McGrillen A wee player who always terrorised defences. Thoughts are with your family and friends at this sad time.
nethertonwellfan
I also heard about this whilst in Romania. The last memory I have of him was being in the Cumnock end at the Scottish Junior Cup final with a few of my Ayrshire mates. I was enjoying the game but couldn't hide my delight at him scoring the winner even if it was controversial. IMO it was well over the line even if I am extremely biased as he was one of my favourite players. When I started delivering the mail I was delighted when I was delivering a letter in Hamilton and it was for Paul McGrillen. He was true gent and I will miss him greatly. RIP Mowgli say hi to all the other Motherwell legengs in heaven.
Keef
Here's a good article about Mowgli, written by Graham Spiers: http://timesonline.typepad.com/thegame/200...ssic-mould.html
Emmjay
A very moving and reflective piece of writing. How sad for his wife and young children. RIP.
Rickoza
My memory is maybe playing tricks on me but, I can remember him chasing a lost cause at Ibrox, midweek game ?? , crossing the ball in for us to score ?????? He was a very talented player and deserves to be remembered with respect.   Doogie Arnott double that night. Loads of folk on the park as we all went absolutely mental. And all due to the tenacity that Mowglie showed. He'll be greatly missed. Jonesy
A few seasons back a few of us went to see our mate when he was playing for Stenny at the time. Â I remember getting there and being the only one of us delighted to find our mate had been dropped to the bench because he had been replaced in the starting 11 by Mowgli. Â I'll need to try and look back but I'm certain he scored that day.
Well73
Will be back at my PC tomorrow but can't quite find the words at how disapointed I was tonight that AGAIN no mark of respect for Paul. Â The club should be ashamed. Â Rest in peace wee man.

Deaddogman
The programme stated there would be a minutes silence but it didn't happen
Brazilian
A good section of the programme was devoted to remembering Mowgli with very kind and touching words from a number of ex team mates and coaches. Â RIP wee man
Yabba's Turd
Does anyone know when the funeral takes place?
Yabba's Turd
Friday morning, there are details of it on Bathgate's website. That'll be today then? ok no worries. My wife worked with Paul and would like to attend.
Lobey_Dosser
Pretty astounded that there was no tribute last night.
scoojy
Did 'Flow not say that UEFA are pretty strict with these sort of things. Maybe the word came from them that no tribute (armbands or silence) was allowed.
jammyget
One of my fav players from that era. Couldn't believe it when Mcleish did the deal for Eddie May that sent him to Falkirk.
The African
If uefa decree that we cannot show ourrespectand appreciation for the recently departed then so be it- it is their show (though shame on them for being so petty). The home fixture against Killie would seem the obvious place to show our respects properly- our place, our rules- the correct place for us to mark the untimely passing of one of our own. lynda_block
I was surprised when I saw in the programme last night that there was to be a minute's silence - didn't fancy anyone's chances of getting the Steaua fans to stay quiet for that long! Definitely think our first home game would be a better place for a tribute.
milo
Hopefully there'll be black armbands and a minutes silence at the Killie game for him.
