herbie Posted August 31, 2009 Author Report Share Posted August 31, 2009 Opinion on Raynes is divided, http://members3.boardhost.com/marionsboard/ a definite favourite of JGs and has been captain for over 12 months despite still being only 21. Cant fault him for his attitude, always gives 100% and gets stuck in where it counts, he has also been used as a defensive midfielder with mixed results. Great tackling and breaking up opponents attacks but distribution not his strongest point. Does have a tendency to make the odd glaring error and has a history of hamstring strains, went off early on Saturday with a 'tweak', but not thought to be too serious. http://www.stockportcounty.com/page/Profil...9~32520,00.html Halls is a right back who is another player coming through our youth system, made his debut at end of last season away at Leeds after our firesale and then subsquent injury crisis left us short on players. Jim will know these guys really well so there is no real gamble in bringing them in, i am just amazed that we are splashing out a bit of cash!!! he said we were getting a right back, and if jim said it you can bet it will happen. on a side note, how good were the kids that joined celtic's no chance of ever playing squad??? Only played 6 first team games for us and that again was due to panic sales and injuries. Seemed to ooze class though and looked a natural, no nerves and very reassured. Think Celtic have got a bargain if the rumoured fee of upto 400k (depending upon appearances etc) is true, never heard of the two kids that went with him, didnt even make it to our youth team before they were snapped up. herbie Posted September 1, 2009 Author Report Share Posted September 1, 2009 Could be, although rumour is we have managed to convince the Football League that as 4 of our 20 'man' squad are only 16/17 they should not count as they qualify to play for our youth team. So if true there should be room to strengthen our squad before todays deadline, assuming there is cash to pay wages of our loanees. Apparently we are ok financially so cant see Raynes joining you unless you up the bid but Halls maybe, not ready for first team action yet so may as well let him train with you and reduce our wage bill Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
