So many to choose from but went for JGR. Solid defensively when in the centre then remarkably the out ball / furthest forward multiple times from Poulsen when HJK were throwing everything at us.
-
just curiosity on my part - but did the Physio's have a night off tonight, can't recall any injury stoppages that required attention.

That was a European night to remember. The atmosphere was electric. It is great to see Fir Park rocking. No failures on the pitch for Motherwell. Star man for me tonight was Moorman, he was superb in that defence. Lowry looks to be fitting in nicely. Fadinger and Priestman were imperious in the midfield. Said is adding scoring to his game, which is great to see. Olly Whyte looks every bit a first team player. I'm sure that he'll get plenty of game time this season. A great time to be a Well fan. Who's off to Freiburg. See you there. COYW!

I thought we played, I didnt like the fact it was the same tactics hjk used and we didnt pick up on it. 1 player going short and the other going long then a long ball over the top. cacile for them number seven has some decent pace and ability and also mero on the other side id defo inquiry about them. And this time pukki didnt get a proper sniff at goal. But overall we played and beat another seeded team

Said the hero but I went for Moormann, jeez!! What a find he has been
-
Just in from pub, how good was that? Absolutely buzzing. First half i was saying we desperately need a striker ( which we still do), said magnificent 2nd half as were all the lads. Having lost 5 players we have sure replaced them, Moormann looks a great find and I think JGR looks a great signing . Atmosphere immense and lets bring on the germans and give it our best but pressure off as we are massive underdogs COYW

Really? If so that’s even more confusing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Brilliant night. Football was a joy to watch. Went with my 14 year old son and his mate. His mate supports one if old firm but was amazed at atmosphere and football. Some of the passing was sublime. Poetry in motion.

You may be right but €1.1M isn't too shabby although we'll all be looking to qualify for the group stage.
-
That was absolutely magnificent tonight. They started quite well in terms of possession, and we looked a bit nervous for 15 minutes, but gradually we took control and a very enjoyable evening ensued. We have replaced our outgoing players very sensibly so far, although another signing or two wouldn't go amiss and although there were a few slack passes and some dubious decisions from the ref, at no time did I feel worried that they would put us under any real pressure, This time last year all the short passes in the 18 yard box scared me Sh*tless but now it is just amusing to watch the opposition run sideways like headless chickens. Add in that AJ is an absolute pleasure to listen to, and I think this year could be even better than last year. What a great time to be a 'Well fan.

With the hint of a good old fashioned quick toe poke before the keeper could set

Oh he wasnt perfect he was just streets ahead of the shite we suffer every week

Suprised JT never got it...

Only 2 * €175k, surely? Two qualifying rounds, then one playoff round...

It's a public vote.

Did not think he was that great. Seem to favour the visitors and gave alot of very soft fouls, especially 1st half. He improved slightly in 2nd half. In saying that you are correct to say he was streets ahead of the scottish officials! Standards are declining even with all the tv recordings they need to study, learn and improve.

numpty started following MOTM HJK 13-Aug-2026

According to the wiki page it's a bit better than that at Second qualifying round elimination: €350,000 + €175,000 per qualifying round played Third qualifying round elimination: €550,000 + €175,000 per qualifying round played Play-off round elimination: €750,000 + €175,000 per qualifying round played In addition to the €750,00 there is also €175,000 per qual round so 3 x €175,000 is €525,000 so a total of €1,275,000 which is quite a bit of money even accounting for the additional expense. Plus of course over €3M if we qualify for the group stages although I'd imagine the €1.275M will be deducted.

I’m sure JBA will be watching from afar and feel so proud [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I need to comment on the Referee. In the two European ties the referees have been streets ahead of the utter shite that passes for refereeing in Scotland. Let the game flow. Compare it to that fud who refereed the Falkirk game. Most Scottish games the chat after the game revolves around the referees incompetence. Two European ties and no such discussions.

The MOTM on the BBC match reports is an average of the accumulated fan votes on the website. Nothing to do with what the reporters or pundits think. Been that way for many years.

Typical crapola from the BBC. On Sportsound it took them over 45 minutes to mention Hibs or Motherwell from the time I got into the car to come home, while they obsessed about Rangers being rank. This was a great team performance tonight and it was so encouraging to see us maintain our passing game with the new manager and a squad in transition. The confidence the younger players will get from being trusted later on in the game will be important (brave decision by Alfred) and I thought Whyte looked very assured. Lowry seems to be more confident now that he knows his role and his linking work on the turn for Said's first goal was excellent: shades of Just? A fantastic atmosphere and full credit to The Bois, who never stopped singing all night. It's a great time to be a 'Well fan because i really feel we can only get better.
-
You weren't alone, I thought he was pretty poor for a while first half. To be fair though, he didn't hide and certainly grew into the game late first half and into the second.
-
I think I was the only one who thought Lowry was really poor in the first half? I didn’t think he was at it at all, kept giving the ball away and was pretty weak at times but his 2nd half until he was hooked was brilliant. I thought it was like watching a different player, really confident, great work rate….. not sure what Alfred said to him at half time but it worked.

If ever there was a goal where a player "waltzed through the opposition" it was Said's second.
