Only 7 points from safety! š§”ā¤ļøš§”

If we can stay close enough to be one of the official chasers, it's going to be a fun second half of the season. Close to zero chance of winning the league, but I'm going to predict we don't finish in a relegation spot.

Really difficult to pick tonight as every single player gave everything. However, Just was my pick for his workrate, energy and pure nuisance value. Celtic didnt know what to do with him at all. It was no surprise when our performance dripped off a bit after his substitution, albeit we were trying ro close the game out at the time.

Another home win for the Steelmen against the Buddies ? COYW

Absolutely magnificent game tonight. We absolutely bossed that for about 80 minutes. I dont think Ive ever seen that against either of the big two in 57 years. The energy, determination and tenacity of the team to get after Celtic and not give them a minute, was immense. They JUST couldnt handle us, or him! This team/squad/manager has something. We might not win the league. But we ARE in the conversation and we should be looking at the Scottish Cup as a viable target. In Jens we trust!

The gaffer

How disrespectful to call him out in public like that. Ian McCall is going ro be all over that. š Iy must be shite for wee Callum not getting to be the flat track bully every week.
-
Probably not. But we are in the conversation, and if we cant win it, we can definitely be a determining factor on who does. We should definitely be targeting the Scottish Cup though. This team is definitely good enough to win that.

We've only lost 2 out of 6 against the Top 3 and we should have won at Tynecastle and got a point at least at Celtic Park and Ibrox. That says to me we are absolutely as good as them in one to ones. What we need to do is win games like the one coming up which I kind of alluded to in my original post. The best Motherwell team I've ever seen should have won the league but lost to lowly Dundee Utd and St. Johnstone sides. That's the tricky part rather than the big games when you challenge for a league. It's likely the 'top' teams will drop a lot of points in the run in as there genuinely isn't a gap between the Old Firm and the others now so it's down to us to keep up our performances and form going and you never know. We are further back that the Top 3 so we are probably going to have to beat the Old Firm and Hearts a couple more times this season to have a chance but this is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity. Motherwell are a club who will always struggle to keep talent and I don't expect that to change but this season everything is in place. The stars are aligned. It's there so why not go for it? Right now though we just have to get the heads down, keep the performances up and tick off the games. Let's get into February/March and see where we are.

Agreed. He made a few mistakes earlier in the season, but I can see why JBA stuck with him as he has really grown into this system. He looks very confident and assured now.
-
Interesting Jens mentioned nullifying McGregor post match. Tactically spot on and credit to the players Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

JBA is very quickly becoming the stuff of legends.
-
I should also mention Callum Ward, he has proven me wrong. An assured performance tonight, and it isn't the only one recently. Well done to him for turning things around.
-
Every player played their part which was dictated to them by JBA so Iām not going to single out anyone they all deserve it.

Wow, what a performance. Dominant from start to finish. It could have been more than 2, but the points are the main thing. Watt is a great player, he completely controlled the midfield. So calm on the ball, drop the shoulder, turn, play a slide rule pass. Sumptuous stuff. The whole midfield machine was purring tonight, on and off the ball. Slattery had his best game for a while; Just never stops, he ran himself into the ground; Fadinger too, a great find (thank you Mr Wimmer); wee Oscar did a great job too, sitting in front of the back line. At the back, Sparrow provides so much energy, as does Johnny K; SOD and McGinn absolutely solid. Up top, Said is scintillating at times. Such a tricky player and a well taken header. Dare we dream?

Absolutely gutted that I wasnāt able to attend the game tonight, but for all of times Iāve seen us go close only to watch it go tits up and leave feeling sick, watching the game on tv - although no where near as good as it was for those there - it was an amazing feeling and the interview with Jens after the game is something everyone should try and watch.

Cue for a song, I thought Bernardo slipped but as Robbie Williams said.........it was Engels instead š¤£
-
Tough one as they were all class but Just was outstandingā¦.. utterly outstanding and when he did go off we did struggle for a period. He just seemed to make everything tick tonight and him and Said in the forward positions were fkn brilliant
-
Went for Watt, but an honourable mention to Sparrow who has come into the team and done a very decent job imo.

Any time an outsider wins any league is when 3 or 4 teams are in the mix cos they all take points off one another. I seriously don't think we have a chance but if the miracle was to happen the structure of the league is exactly how you'd want it as an outsider. How good was it to see Celtic replicate the fuck up we gave them at Celtic Park. It's a strange old game. My biggest frustration will always been the League Cup should have been in the Fir Park trophy room.

Hope we absolutely pump them
